"Stopped at the Beach Cafe for breakfast. The cafe was being run by man who was doing everything and was doing a great job. We had a BLT, fresh orange juice and a lovely flat white. Very good price and we were able to...sit by the beach and look out across the beach and sea. We would highly recommend a stop here."

"As a local independent health food shop I would like to show my support to Trinity Wholefoods, they do stock some very good things. The only problem is that I have found some of the women who run the place so incredibly rude over the years. Today was the worst case of rudeness to date, when in the middle of serving me, the woman just walked off the counter moaning about something. An embarressed .colleague stepped in and finished taking for my purchase. I get the impression they are looking down their noses for some reason?. Maybe get over yourselves, and be a bit more professional. I'm afraid I'm used to shopping in London and in Italy so you really don't have too much feel pretentious about I assure you."

"Tempted in by a friendly smile, we arrived quite early and were a bit worried that it was not fuller, however the evening saw a constant ebb and flow of diners.Hastings Bouillabaisse tempted me, for while regional I tend to think of Bouilabaise as one course fish meal that has particular flavourings. It was perfectly pleasant, but would not have been identifiable to James Bond by having distinctive proportions of fennel, saffron and Cayenne Peppers as in his Marseilles Restaurants. The rich varieties of other eaters though did not disappoint. Did the sharing two blind dates meets again?Nice wine and a beer for 2 £75.I'd go again and take friends."

"We visited for lunch today and were almost put off by the prices! £13 for 2 courses. We thought it couldn't possibly be any good, but the menu looked interesting so we thought we'd give it a go (we didn't want fish and chips, and...didn't want a pub burger type meal). We were delighted with our choices!! Monkfish scampi, and roast pork belly on pearl barley amongst the highlights. Really couldn't fault any of our food. Well cooked, tasty and plentiful. And all served with a smile from a lovely young man who was helpful and polite. An absolute gem of a find."

"We had lunch on a Saturday at this restaurant. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, with a somewhat rustic yet comfortable feel. We were greeted warmly as soon as we arrived. The menu had a variety of meat and vegetarian options, although we were not sure about vegan options. There were also daily specials based on the available fish. We started with a feta cheese, olive, and melon salad, as well as hummus with special bread, both of which we enjoyed. For our main course, we chose the Fish Pie from the specials menu, which was filled with fish in a flavorful sauce. We also had cocktails, which were traditional and strong, unlike many cocktails these days. The staff, a young lady and gentleman, were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had a great meal without being intrusive. Overall, we had a great experience at this restaurant and highly recommend it. We will likely return the next time we are in Hastings."

"Incredible quality at such an affordable price! The staff truly impressed us with their service. The decor and garden create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The food was fresh and cooked quickly; my minute steak was fantastic, and the homemade sauces were wonderfully flavored and delicious. The only reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five is due to the drinks—our Aperol spritz was overly fizzy with soda, and one of their cocktails was served warm. I would definitely eat here again, but I might stick with a bottled beer next time."

"Having been used to receiving an unopened and generous packet of biscuits with an okay cup of coffee on many previous visits I have, on two recent occasions, queried why we are now served a single biscuit. I've explained that such an offering offers customers no guarantee that the biscuit has not been offered to, and discarded by, previous customers. On my last but one visit the server understood my logic and returned with an unopened packet. This time, and it has elicited this poor rating, the young waiter seemed clueless about the need to ensure basic customer satisfaction and did not offer an unopened packet, but five minutes later brought an unopened packet with coffee to the table next to mine. An own goal. Management, please get a grip and explain the concept of customer satisfaction and appeasement to your young staff. Don't let the venue go awry as has happened to it in the past."

"Having moved to Hastings in February from Eastbourne I found myself really missing Mamma Mi, a small Italian cafe in Eastbourne. I have only ever been past La Cantina before but today decided to try it and I no longer miss Mamma Mi so much now that I know there's a lovely Italian cafe in Hastings Old Town. I went alone and kept it simple, I had pasta in tomato sauce and followed it up with a slice of ricotta cake. The pomodoro sauce was so delicious and pasta cooked perfectly. The cake was so lovely and light. The man who served me, I presume to be the owner, he was very nice. The cafe itself is beautiful and I got an unpretentious vibe from the place. I will definitely be making this my main cafe and next time I shall try the nduja panini which sounded lovely. Highly recommended, reasonable prices, great location, wonderful atmosphere and nice sounding menu."

"I came to this lovely little cafe back in march on mothers day. We had the chocolate afternoon tea for two and was blown away by the food that was delivered to our table. Everything tasted amazing especially the chocolate scone. I had to ask Sharon for the recipe they were that good!! I also took my two daughters along with myself and my mum and sharon put on a lovely little spread for my girls which they loved. Nothing was a problem for sharon and anything we needed she would provide. An excellent service from a lovely lady which i have the pleasure to no personally I would recomend this gorgeous little hidden gem of a cafe to anyone. Its a shame im now in oz and cant get one of those chocolate scones! Thank you for an amazing time in your cafe, my mum thoroughly enjoyed her mothers day present!! Xx"

"I ordered a chicken burger meal for myself and my companion, and it arrived promptly and tasted delicious. The portions were generous and all the food was served hot. I highly recommend this restaurant and give it a straightforward 5-star rating. I will definitely be ordering from them again in the future."

"Lovely little café with lots of vegan dishes, great loose leaf teas and cakes. The food we had was tasty and very enjoyable. We had arancini and quiche with salads, followed by Viennese whirls, washed down with teas (the spiced apple was particularly good) all of which were great. Very popular, so can be full at busy times. Lovely owner and staff."

"Not from Hastings, but always make a point of visiting here whenever we’re in town. Always have nice coffee and the food is good, nothing outstanding, but nice enough. Staff are usually friendly too, which is always nice. One thing that annoys me though, is the usual one person on their own taking up a table for four. Visited today, numerous two seater tables available, but a woman reading a newspaper, looking like she was settled in fur the day, taking up a table (which included a full sofa and two chairs) and all she had was a small coffee. Luckily we managed to find somewhere to sit, when someone else kindly offered to switch tables. The newspaper woman was there when we got there and still there when we left. We noticed other families unable to sit down and leaving, yet she couldn’t care less!! Perhaps staff could ask single diners to kindly sit at two seater tables in future."

"As we were off work this week, and it also happened to be the day before hubby’s birthday, we popped into town to grab some lunch. What a lovely little find! Very good coffee, fish finger sandwiches and carrot cake that ticks all the boxes. Lunchtime menu choice is good, with something to please most people! It’s also a shop with lots of goodies around the walls to tempt you. Very happy friendly staff and the place was pretty busy with people coming and going for the whole time we were in there. All in all a popular eating place. We’ll be back!"

"Great food great service. The only thing that let it down was the choice of music in the restaurant area. We were expecting some nice relaxing music, as it was a Tuesday evening and we were in the restaurant area, but being played were songs by Eminem and a variety of 90's dance hits."
