"Looking at the name of the restaurant, I thought it was Beijing cuisine, but when I arrived and looked at the menu, I realized it was Cantonese cuisine. Every piece of the roasted duck had crispy skin when it was first served. The fried pork ribs with salt and pepper garlic sauce were soft and not greasy. The stir-fried beef river was a little lumpy but had the flavor of the pot. The chrysanthemum tea is delicious, and the fifteen moon dessert is so delicious. The service is very attentive and always takes the initiative to add water to the tea. The environment is very good. Chosen to help out, I didn't expect the moon when ordering a taco, but still: Little meat, stuffed with undercooked fries, all bathed in an overdose of sauce, to the point that you think you're eating porridge. The kebab meat doesn't come from a roll, the sauces are large industrial tubes. For an unsurprising result: disgusting, difficult to finish such bad food. Another problem is the price: 14CHF for a simple taco, with no extras other than tomatoes, and a drink, it's way too much. And when it's this bad, it's a scam. No real welcome on arrival, the staff seems to be waiting for you to order at the terminals. Then, familiar but friendly service. "Great atmosphere and inner city urban vibe. We visited on a beaut early spring day and it was bright and inviting inside. Well stocked bar and small but well thought menu. Tomato bruschetta was a flavourful start. We both ordered tartare andalou , level 3 spicy. It wasn’t that spicy but staff brought more hot sauce and we got there???? Excellent meat quality and fast service. Open on Sundays which is always a bonus in Vaud."

"I went to the Chat Noir with some friends this evening, and had quite high expectations given the good reviews it had; unfortunately, I left the place disappointed. The restaurant was clean, the employees were really friendly, and the menu looked quite tasty. I ordered some veal with mushrooms, while my wife had lobster. The problem is, both of those were really, really too salty. I finished my meal one hour ago, and I can still only feel the salt in my mouth... If that was a regular restaurant, I might have given it three stars. But given the high price tag, I don't think it's worth more than two. I definitely won't be going there again."

Despite telling them in advance that 2 of our family members were vegetarian, the staff, despite being very professional and welcoming , seemed surprised and the restaurant not ready to take care of vegetarians. The vegetarian choice were poor (2 out of the whole menu), and the plates were tasteless (it was a bunch of vegetable cooked and put together) Amuse bouche were some raw roots vegetable, with no flavor. The restaurant sells itself as “bio, green and local”, hence the disappointment was there when in fact they had no decent vegetarian alternatives."

"This note concerns two experiences we had with Java between December 2022 and January 2023. During our first visit, we came without a reservation for lunch because my partner is gluten intolerant and they have adapted cuisine. We arrive, a very friendly waitress offers to seat us upstairs and will take care of us for almost the entire meal. We order a truffle risotto as well as the poultry ballotine also accompanied by Risotto. I also take this opportunity to ask the question if it is possible to make sweet pancakes with buckwheat flour (gluten free) and we are confirmed that yes, it is a recurring request, no problem. The dishes arrive but unfortunately the risottos are almost raw and therefore inedible. We therefore reported it to our friendly waitress who quickly brought the dishes back to the kitchen and came back to confirm that she had tasted it and indeed, it was much more than al dente. We joke about it, it happens, no worries. We waited a bit and were served again. Both dishes were very good this time, nothing to add. We therefore order a buckwheat crepe for dessert, once again specifying the gluten allergy. We receive our dessert from another waiter and I notice (luckily for them, before tasting) that the color is too light to be buckwheat. So I call the waiter to ask the question, he is not sure and goes to our first waitress who apologizes, she forgot to specify this in the kitchen. How to put it... we 're trying to put things into perspective but it could have been catastrophic. We then eat the pancake, very good, and ask for a coffee and the bill. Not a single commercial gesture, not even on coffee... it 's not obligatory but it would have been the least we could do... But it was good, so we come out saying that it 's the weekend, relax. So we 're enjoying the experience this weekend. We arrive again to eat without a reservation, but it 's not crowded at all, the waiter tells us that we can go up and sit down (alone). After 15 minutes of waiting, we still saw no one approach our table while we saw the waiter who brought us in snacking downstairs between 2 coffees for the customers.
