"Visited with our 2 yr old grandson on Monday morning. Staff are so friendly and accommodating and really take care of us all. Coffee and babycino great and they do a delicious bacon sandwich. Would highly recommend if you are visiting Glastonbury."

"Thought we'd try this restaurant, as not been there before. Hubby ordered king prawn with ginger and spring onions, with egg fried rice. King prawn was a good size but wasn't enough ginger, he only had two bits! Plate was put on the table while it was hot, before his foods came. His plate wasn't hot by the time his foods came, which took 10mins. Usually the hot plate and foods come together? We thought it unusual the plate came first, while waiting for foods to arrive? My plate wasn't hot but I wasn't bothered with mine, as I eat quick! It was nice not listen to music while we eat, which makes a change. We don't like music loud when we go out. To the restaurant staff, please bring hot plates out with the foods together, and not plates first and it gets cold! Hubby eats very slow. Our foods wasn't very hot either."

"My husband and I having originally booked the Greek restaurant but left as very disappointed, made our way to this restaurant. We have eaten here many times in the past and no problem getting a table before the restaurant started filling up. We were served by Mia who was friendly and helpful and having travelled around India, it was nice to chat about where we had visited and where he came from. We started with poppadoms and then two lamb curry dishes, rice and sides. Curry was nice but disappointed with the Bombay potatoes and sag aloo. I believe this has changed hands since we last visited as we didn’t recognise any of the waiting staff"

"We visited the Fleur de Lys while staying at the George and the Plaine across the street. Well, visited is a bit of understatement we practically moved in for the day. From the first moment you open the door, this place just oozes atmosphere...and friendliness, from the roaring fire, to the well-chosen and appropriately-volumed music playlist, to the plethora of amusements like darts, backgammon, pool and even a skittle alley! We just propped up the bar (with its excellent draft ales) and chatted with the staff and locals. The bar manager Sean is brilliant. We spent several hours discussing everything from rugby to beer, travel, life, the universe and everything. He could not have made us more welcome, but at the same time, he was always watching for a dirty glass on a table or a patron needing a refill, or keeping the fire stocked up with logs. Top marks! We would come to Norton St Philip again just for the Fleur de Lys. We did not eat at the pub as we had booked at the George, but saw many plates virtually licked clean, and for sure we will try the food here next time."

"Hugely recommend!!! Loved visiting here while on a weekend trip to Frome. The food was simply delicious, filling and wholesome. The ethos of paying it forward is inspiring and I was really happy to support this restaurant, and really look forward to returning. It’s inexpensive and just awesome. I had the momos, the dahl, mixed veg and beetroot salad. All delicious. My two year old daughter loved her food too as well as my momos! kids are welcomed and the kids portions are great value. Do check it out next time you’re in Frome!"

"I visited Glastonbury while on a week-long break in Crewkerne. I stopped by this charming cafe because it was dog-friendly. Despite forgetting my glasses, I inquired about gluten-free options and was pleased to see it clearly marked on the menu. When I placed my order, the woman at the counter asked if I had celiac disease, which I confirmed. When my food arrived, she explained that she had cleaned the kitchen and used all new, unopened ingredients to prepare my meal. I simply had a corned beef and onion sandwich, but the attention to detail was exceptional. I highly recommend this place to both celiacs and non-celiacs."

"The Swan Hotel is housed in a historic building and has a glamorous decor. It offers a stunning view of the Cathedral and has a charming outdoor seating area that overlooks The Green. We had high hopes for our meal with friends in the restaurant, as we were promised locally sourced, made-to-order dishes. Unfortunately, the pork was overcooked and the chocolate brownie with salted caramel ice cream was disappointingly dry, reminiscent of a school cafeteria dessert. At a fixed price of £25 for two courses, the experience fell short of our expectations."

"Horrible experience at this restaurant. We booked a table for 12:30, but our food didn't arrive until half an hour later. When it did come, it was the wrong order and we had to send it back. After waiting for another half hour, we still hadn't received our meals, despite other customers around us getting served. After waiting for an hour, we decided to leave without being served. When we tried to complain, we were told that the manager was busy. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant."

"I will never come back to this restaurant. I arrived at 3:05 pm and the door was open. I walked in and waited at the counter for 2 minutes, only to be told abruptly that they were closed. They told me to leave and shut the door behind me. They supposedly close at 3:30. I would rather support a local business than a chain like Greg's, but I guess I'll choose Greg's next time."

"During our visit to Shepton Mallet for lunch, we decided to give this restaurant a try. As soon as we walked in, we knew we had made the right choice. The place was bright and welcoming, and we were greeted and served by a very friendly gentleman, possibly the owner. The menu wasn't extensive, but it had a good variety to choose from. We ordered sandwiches that were clearly freshly made to order, with thick, fresh bread and quality fillings like ham salad and egg mayonnaise. They were served with crisps and delicious chilled apple juice. The walls were adorned with chalkboards displaying different cakes and scones, all at very reasonable prices. Everything we saw being served to other customers looked fantastic! Before leaving, we purchased some biscuits from the shop and another bottle of the apple juice we had with our lunch. If we ever find ourselves back in Shepton Mallet, we would definitely dine here again. Highly recommended!"

"The staff are friendly and welcoming. The waffles, crepes and ice creams are beautifully presented. They say that you eat with your eyes, well this is certainly the case. the decor is quirky and fun! Langage Farm is the manufacturer and supplier of the ice cream, They are really delicious, the best I have tasted in a long time. Taylor 's also have a yoghurt ice cream, which you can choose the flavour you like the most. Mine is with bluebberries!! yum yum My most favourite ice cream sundae is the 'Healthy Option ' Vanilla ice cream with fruit salad, covered with plain yoghurt, granola and honey. It tasted as it looked wonderful. Really do recommend you go and try, will bring back memories of ice cream parlours of old."

"Visiting my son working on the Glasto festival site. We fancied a decent breakfast n coffee. Happened on Thorners farmshop n restaurant. Breakfast available until 11.30. We got there at 11. Lucky to get a table n they kindly seated the two of us at a reserved table for 6 as they were delayed Great atmosphere busy, buzzing but relaxed. Really nice, smart decor. You can tell as soon as you walk in they're organised and on it. I was expecting it to be expensive, but we don't treat ourselves that often to eating out so was prepared for that. In fact the Ultimate Breakfast I think it was called, with more than enough to challenge the hungriest eater (my son was a tenner. N mine was £7.50. Really reasonable considering the quality, variety n amount you get especially with suppliers n bills going sky high across the board right now. Both breakfasts included bacon, sausage, egg, baked cherry tomatoes, hash browns, black pudding, baked beans, mushrooms n fried bread or toast. I swapped my hash brown n black pudding for an extra egg n rasher of bacon. Quality ingredients perfectly cooked. Had a large flat white n latte while we waited. Top notch coffee. Straightforward menu on the table catering for most cooked breakfasts down to something on toast. Order at the counter. You can see the chefs through in the kitchen cooking. Friendly n efficient front of house n waitresses. Service with a smile. Really nice relaxed but buzzing atmosphere. Outdoor patio seating n farmshop to have a wander round afterwards with arts n crafts upstairs (pricey but nice to look at! n food downstairs. Meat surprisingly reasonable. Highly recommend n will be back next time I'm in the area. K"

"Promotion sounds inviting, read the small print carefully its not half price mains only if you purchase starters and or puds.......but service extreamly slow, food not very impressive below average and the overworked waitress was rude.....such a shame as the venue is in a beautiful setting the revamp is nice but not kept up has the feel that it needs a deep clean...dont understand the slow service there was hardly anyone in on the lnchtime we visited but our food took an age to come the other table there waited an hour and a half for their lunch with less than four tables in the whole place. when we arrived some golfers who had been waiting a long time for a breakfast roll had to cancel as it hadnt turned up and their slot for the course was due ........ once our food eventually arrived it was not even a decent standard....very disappointing......i wont be going back ....."

"My friends and I booked a table for a christmas dinner dance this year as a treat. We paid £35 for a very basic meal and a shocking DJ. My prawn starter was a plate of limp lettuce with a few scrawny frozen prawns in a thin, flavourless pink sauce. Main course salmon was adequately cooked, again with a small amount of non descript yellow sauce, nothing special. The table was presented with two bowls of veg, that looked like they has come out of the freezer. Tateless, bland, bland, bland. Gordon Ramsy would have had a field day. Chocolate brownie was tasty but served with a comical squirt of cream, Like, really laughable here. Shame, as this ruined this tastiest course. The music was dreadful, only one or two songs from the last decade. The DJ didnt bother to read the crowd to cater for the mix of ages present. I would say this was lazy. It went perfectly with the meal. I am not a fusspot, in fact I am usually easy to please. I have never written a review before but would like to warn people not to bother."

"The refurb of this place is of a very high standard and the staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the food lets it down. Primarily, if you don't like burgers or fish and chips, find somewhere else. I visited with a friend and although my fish and chips were good, my friends meal was first served on completely cold vegetables. On pointing this out to the waiting staff, she offered a replacement which, we expected would be a plated meal with hot food. Unfortunately it was delivered as a pile of veg and potatoes thrown together in a tin dish. Not ideal and a real disappointment. Probably would not visit again."
