"This place was extremely welcoming to a group consisting of two young families and a dog. Particularly as we decided we wanted to move tables after being shown our allocated one. All the staff were very friendly and we're super helpful with requests. The menu has a great selection of food which all looked delicious. I can highly recommend the wild board and venison burger, my group were all very satisfied with their roasts, and the children happily ate from the children's menu. The atmosphere was great and the outdoor seating at the front of the pub was wonderful on a warm sunny day! One thing to note is that parking outside is extremely limited, double parking is encouraged, as long as you notify the bar staff that you are double parked so that they can notify you. There is another community car park a little way up the hill which is a short walk away."

"our second time to this restaurant and I really think it was better than last year, it really excellent! the staff was beautiful, attentive and knowledgeable about which we should have (we had to remember tasty the last few years wein, but they are super helpful. we had the luxurious seafood salad, so much on there it is all fresh, absolutely glorious! we also had a side of the brotes a part of the pommes. then I had the apple cake for dessert and my partner had the brownie. muscadet wein goes well with seafood. we have ordered our plate during the day, so if they think of having this, I would recommend only if they run out of everything (you have no thanks espresso seafood bar and grill for my birthday really special for the second year. I'm happy to come back for the third time."

"Appearances can be so deceptive. From the utside this is an unprepossessing and down-at-heel country put where the only food on offer would be a bag of crisps. The inside is a transformation though: clean, modern and with an extensive menu. Amd what a menu: at least four types of fish and meat, starters and sharers in abundance and even more than the usual one vegetarian option. Enough desserts to satisfy any craving. The menu descriptions were good and what we saw coming out made us want to try all of it. We visited twice and worked our way through the venison, the duck, and the fish (skate) as mains and the Camembert and the smoked fish starters and the chocolate dessert. All were first class: well cooked, generous portions and, with the mains, plenty of vegetables. The potatoes we found particularly good. Service was speedy but not rushed and staff excellent. The beer was good and well-kept. Prices were very reasonable we thought: about for two. Downsides? None really, except that it's off-the-beaten track. But don't let this put you off: find this lovely little pub, enjoy the menu and go home feeling replete and contented. We did. Twice."

"I never write takeaway reviews, but eating was so amazing that I had this time! we ordered yesterday evening and it was ugly that the Chinese eating that we had compared with our locals in london was very good. Eat was not fat, fresh and really delicious. came with free crackers. the portion size was smaller than we use (usually we eat the rest the next day), but each plate was enough for 1 person. highly recommended!"

"Zest is a great little place in the centre of South Molton. We usually eat here when we come to South Molton as there is a good range of food choices, and the food is freshly cooked to order and very tasty to eat. The tables and floor are always clean and the toilets are always clean and tidy and accommodate disabled and baby changing. This review is based on the Daytime Menu. There were 3 of us, and we had 2 Zest Brunch's and a child's sausage, chips and beans, 2 lattes' and a chocolate milk followed by cake for the teen. We always book a table as Zest is very popular and we been turned away on a previous occasion, so always book now to be sure of getting in. You sit down and the staff come over to take your order. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Our drinks were served first and the food took maybe 20-25 minutes at most, which you would expect if they are cooking meals from scratch, including some of the best scrambled eggs that I have ever tasted. I asked to have toast instead of mushrooms, this was fine. The food was steaming hot when it arrived. We ate at 1pm and I like the fact that you can have a breakfast at that time of day and that there isn't a cut off time. In the past I have had poached eggs, cheese and ham omelette, soup and all these things were served hot and tasted great. I highly recommend Zest for lunch if you are in South Molton. The prices are good for the food served, there is a good range of food to choose from, including breakfasts and breakfast items on toast, burgers, cream teas, cakes, omelettes, panini's, sandwiches, pizza and a good gluten free offering too."

"We made an online request to book a table here ahead of our Easter weekend stay in Lynton and received a call the next day confirming the booking. We were staying in the centre of Lynton and this was about a 20 minute walk away...along the Lynway, which was a pleasant walkway through a wooded area. It was well worth the walk there, the food was exceptionally good and all the staff serving were very pleasant and helpful, couldn't fault it at all. One tip I would say is maybe take a torch for the walk back to Lynton in the dark or maybe even get a taxi back."

"Although they sell very tasty Cornish Pasty’s with lots of variety the staff are totally different. So rude unprofessional. It was late in the day so I stood in the queue and when I asked what’s left the very rude member of staff said go and look in the window that’s what’s left. Talking to various holiday makers at a very large complex in this area I’m not the only person who has experienced this type of behaviour from this outlet"

"Set up an order to pick up at a certain time. Went to restaurant at exact time. Got told that order was meant to be picked up 40 minutes earlier. Had a call from Siam 30 minutes later than the time that they thought order should have been picked up. No care from management at Siam, it was a “computer says” moment. Food left on hot plate for 40 minutes. Food greasy, tasteless, over spiced. A poor and disgusting example of what the hospitality industry should be. The manager should have a review on how he deals with customers. I wouldn’t go back and would not recommend this place at all."

"My experience at the recently renovated Clayton's was fantastic. We enjoyed a quick drink along with olives, homemade hummus, and warm delicious bread. The waitresses were extremely attentive and even gave us a complimentary glass of Prosecco for my friend's birthday. Clayton's used to be my local wine bar, but it had lost its charm over the years. However, it seems like they have won me and my friends back with their impressive service. We will definitely be returning soon."

"Came here with family on a Sunday evening. It's great value, unpretentious pub food in a lovely setting. The standard menu is wide-ranging, with vegan options, and then there's the Specials Board. The food portions are very generous, and all meals arrived piping hot. We each had different dishes and found them tasty and filling. They had 3 bitters on the night we were there. Proper Job and Tribute were popular choices, as were the ciders. Perhaps the best part of all is the great service. From the moment we arrived, the staff seem genuinely pleased and proud to serve you. They were friendly and efficient and had been trained to clear tables properly, by using the full length of their arm, and stacking and sorting appropriately. We left a cash tip because they so deserved it. A great experience, we'll definitely be back."

"large seating area in the open, with a level right next to the children's playground, which was comfortable. the staff was friendly and service fast (it was quiet as during the running time). the cream tees were beautiful although much more cream is needed! only enough for a thin layer on two sides of a scone. a beautiful restaurant, a short walk past cute cottages from the center of the village."

"We have been frequent visitors to this restaurant and have always enjoyed the food, but our last visit was very disappointing. We ordered the Beef Vindaloo, which we were warned would be hot (a warning we didn't find necessary). Unfortunately, the dish was extremely dry, making the rice and curry almost inedible. There was no heat or spice at all. We questioned if there has been a change in chefs. Additionally, the ice-cream was not fresh and tasted like it had been thawed and refrozen multiple times. This meal was supposed to be a special Christmas outing with our family."

"Popped in with friends who recommended the all you can eat buffet, I wish we had not of bothered. The decor has not changed since it was opened in the 80's. The food was disgusting. Vegetable Spring Roll was dripping with grease. The chicken wings were coated in granulated sugar???? The ribs were plain with a bit of sweet and sour sauce dribbled on them. The main courses were too sweet. The seasonal vegetables were bland. The beef Chow Mein was weird, I think the beef was boiled??? Nothing about the food was to my liking. All you can eat buffet £19.50,not worth the money"

"Friends had various burgers, which were served with fries and slaw. I wasn't that hungry, so went for a portion of cheesey chips. Unfortunately, the image i had of these in my mind didn't match with what arrived at the table. They turned out to be a large bowl of fries with squirty cheese on top. Im sure some people will have loved these, but not me. However, the meals had by friends were hot, plentiful and yummy."

"have been for a few clicks and gather them away recently. the prices are still reasonable, but the quality of food, although good, is a bit short of the standard backside when they won national prices. the chips could be more careful with something. between brushed and fryed (removal of eyes and rest shell) and the dough can be understated at a occasion and soggy the side, still a beautiful meal. the real problem that must be addressed is the fact that the customers are still kept outside to order and wait for their food that is in the dry but no fish and chips for me when it rains this is the reason why this is not a 2 star evaluation. We should live with covid now, not run away. Despite this approach, no employees wear ppe, and there are no signs for regular hand cleaning that makes cross-contamination possible. added that the restaurant is not packed with any proof of social need, this is surely just an attempt to see something to do. it is certainly confusing. my advice is to click and collect, as eating is ready for the right time and is always beautiful and hot. if the problems with the problem of streuung and access were not present, this would have got 4 stars if the chips had been up to the old standard, it would have been 5. Finally, the workers are amazing and do a great work in view of the additional and my view after unnecessary additional pressure, they are expected to be under"

"I phoned happy they deliver to my area but for a price came with in a hour. Positive Pancake roll was yummy and hot tasted great not oily you get 2. Negative Chips came cold and dry. Mixed meat and veg stirfry was hot but the sauce it came in tasted horribleand ruined it all. Boiled rice came cold tasteless and sticky. Prawn crackers was oily and didn't taste nice. Bbq ribs came hot but they were really hard and chewy sauce was nice. Plain noodles are the worst I've had they were cold too salty and way to thick and tasted like Ash. I'm sorry to say I spent £35 and it all went into the bin except the pancake rolls as they were the only thing that I could eat. Just a waste of money. This is what I experienced with this meal I brought to the best of my knowledge."

"Visited for morning breakfast to sit outside in the sun. Wanted to go opposite to The terrace cafe but it was closed. Castaway cafe, now called Tides in&out was our only option. Table outside were dirty, had to unstuck chairs to be able to sit, bread crumbs cleaned with our own tissues. Dirty menus was the first red flag! Cooked breakfast for almost £10 with undone mushrooms, disgusting sausages, not proper done egg, toast without butter. Had to go and ask for some. Cold out of fridge was given to us then. No Ofer of any sauces or salt and pepper. Found pouch of tomato sauce and pepper on next table. Dirty pepper pot as well. Coffee was okay, not the best but not the worst. ORANGE JUICE… please don’t bother. The cheapest quality I ever taste. Please mind, we are not fussy eaters and we are always polite but this was too much so thought I will share our experience and warn others. Asked to change our orange juices as I thought they were old but new given to us were exactly the same. Food and hygiene check/visit is definitely in NEED."

"Visited here today to give them a second chance as on a previous occasion it was so awful we had a refund because it was inedible, so this time ordered a simple cream tea thinking they can 't muck up a cream tea.wrong ! The actual place itself is a dream with amazing views very spacious etc so it 's hard to resist going in but the food is dreadful they really need a proper chef. Cream tea came out with two seperate pots of cream and jam with one scone each and a huge teapot for two. The teapot was really cheap and dirty with stains and a massively wide spout so every time you poured it the tea went all over the table a teapot needs a slim spout to avoid this. The cream had been stored in a freezer maybe? so was solid and rock hard like frozen ice cream so impossible to spread and as we attempted to spread it on the the scone (which was very crumbly anyway) broke into a million pieces .The the mess on the table from the spilt tea and the now mashed up scone from the frozen cream was ridiculous. Inedible again. On a previous visit we ordered an English breakfast it came out charcoaled and burnt to a crisp it was inedible, the sausage was dark brown and crispy the bacon was dark brown and as hard as a rock both dripping in grease. When we complained and asked for a refund the dark haired middle aged lady at the counter was very nervous and said ' 'oh the chef burns everything because he is sick of people asking for crispy bacon so he burns everything on purpose now ' ' Really ?"

"Our experience at this restaurant was terrible. We were served meat instead of the vegan dish we ordered, and there were several mistakes with our order including missing items and incorrect dishes. The manager did not come out to apologize or address the issues, leaving it to the waiters to handle. It was a truly awful experience."

"On a Monday afternoon in South Molton we needed to have lunch somewhere about 2.30pm and wandered into the Coaching Inn. The friendly barmaid checked with the kitchen then showed us to a table and presented us with menus which had exactly the sort of pub grub you would expect listed. We all chose something different and when all the meals arrived we all tucked in and it was all delicious. The steak and kidney pie with chips and peas I had was superb and the lasagna that one of the children had was the best they had ever had. Two well kept real ales from Exmoor Ales were on and I sampled both which were excellent. The decor of the pub itself seemed a bit dated but in a pub that is no bad thing. A table of locals were enjoying a drink in here and a small friendly dog that belonged to one of them popped by our table to say hello a couple of times. The pub shut at 3pm for the afternoon. The lady behind the bar was superb and everything you would expect from a barmaid, she was friendly, funny, helpful and offered us tourists advice on the local area. Would happily visit this pub to eat and drink if in the area again."
