"We had a lovely meal and red wine at SQ. We chose from the specials menu which is always changing and great value. We both had the prawn and monkfish skewer for starters and followed by the fish of the day which was a whole place, lovely see photos . It should be a quiet Wednesday night in the village but the reputation of SQ being so good means that there is always a lovely bustling atmosphere, especially as we like to sit near the immaculate open kitchen. The owners of SQ do not ever serve low quality wine, and they regularly check that the best wine is available but not at a rip off price which is admirable: We are so lucky to have to have SQ in the village and looking forward to the summer, up on the open terrace"

"We were there for 3 nights and were delighted with the house. Rooms nicely decorated. Beds comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped and spacious. The living room was charming with a sofa bed which was very comfortable. It's autumn, so there wasn't much to explore, but it was a charming little town, so the walks were very pleasant. Close to shops. Parking 5 minutes from the apartment. A lovely Italian restaurant right next door which served us dinner in a nice Italian atmosphere. Great holiday with the family, so we recommend it."

"I recently enjoyed a dinner at this restaurant and had a fantastic dining experience. The price per person ranged from £30 to £40, but it was well worth it for the quality of the food and service. I would rate the food a 5 out of 5, as each dish was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The service was also impeccable, earning another 5 out of 5 rating. The atmosphere was pleasant, scoring a 4 out of 5. I would highly recommend trying the Salt Pepper Mushrooms and Sweet and Sour Chicken, as they were two of the standout dishes on the menu."

"Visited for morning breakfast to sit outside in the sun. Wanted to go opposite to The terrace cafe but it was closed. Castaway cafe, now called Tides in&out was our only option. Table outside were dirty, had to unstuck chairs to be able to sit, bread crumbs cleaned with our own tissues. Dirty menus was the first red flag! Cooked breakfast for almost £10 with undone mushrooms, disgusting sausages, not proper done egg, toast without butter. Had to go and ask for some. Cold out of fridge was given to us then. No Ofer of any sauces or salt and pepper. Found pouch of tomato sauce and pepper on next table. Dirty pepper pot as well. Coffee was okay, not the best but not the worst. ORANGE JUICE… please don’t bother. The cheapest quality I ever taste. Please mind, we are not fussy eaters and we are always polite but this was too much so thought I will share our experience and warn others. Asked to change our orange juices as I thought they were old but new given to us were exactly the same. Food and hygiene check/visit is definitely in NEED."

"Visited here today to give them a second chance as on a previous occasion it was so awful we had a refund because it was inedible, so this time ordered a simple cream tea thinking they can 't muck up a cream tea.wrong ! The actual place itself is a dream with amazing views very spacious etc so it 's hard to resist going in but the food is dreadful they really need a proper chef. Cream tea came out with two seperate pots of cream and jam with one scone each and a huge teapot for two. The teapot was really cheap and dirty with stains and a massively wide spout so every time you poured it the tea went all over the table a teapot needs a slim spout to avoid this. The cream had been stored in a freezer maybe? so was solid and rock hard like frozen ice cream so impossible to spread and as we attempted to spread it on the the scone (which was very crumbly anyway) broke into a million pieces .The the mess on the table from the spilt tea and the now mashed up scone from the frozen cream was ridiculous. Inedible again. On a previous visit we ordered an English breakfast it came out charcoaled and burnt to a crisp it was inedible, the sausage was dark brown and crispy the bacon was dark brown and as hard as a rock both dripping in grease. When we complained and asked for a refund the dark haired middle aged lady at the counter was very nervous and said ' 'oh the chef burns everything because he is sick of people asking for crispy bacon so he burns everything on purpose now ' ' Really ?"

"Our experience at this restaurant was terrible. We were served meat instead of the vegan dish we ordered, and there were several mistakes with our order including missing items and incorrect dishes. The manager did not come out to apologize or address the issues, leaving it to the waiters to handle. It was a truly awful experience."

"We booked a table for 3 for the coaching inn South Molton, We ordered 3 drinks and was told immediately afterwards that we had 5 minutes to place a food order in, this I was not told at the time of booking, we didn 't have a lot of time to get organised for another meal somewhere else due to the fact at being ill treated by all staff and a customer with foul language, I was even threatened by Jack the chef with leave these Fxxxxxx premises before I break your Fxxxxxx neck who has always in the past been very friendly and helpful, we are classed as regulars. So disgusted, we will never return again to the coaching inn South Molton and our business as well as our family and recommendations have been lost. A very disappointing night"

"We were staying about 50m from this takeaway and had fish and chips one evening. Not the best I have ever had but certainly not the worst. Good fish and batter and a sensible amount of chips. The method of ordering was a bit chaotic; you order at the till and there is a gaggle of people standing in the road outside waiting for the order number to be called. When it is busy it looks difficult to see where the ordering line from the people waiting for collection. I suspect you could be there for quite a while not knowing which line you are in"

"Unfortunately, we were unable to sample the food and drinks that had been recommended to us. We arrived at 10am, the advertised opening time, only to find the lights off and a closed sign on the door. A staff member came out and would have ignored us if I hadn't asked about their opening time. He mentioned it was actually 10.30am, but when I pointed out that it was listed as 10am online, he simply said, "yeah, we are a bit slow today." Disappointed, we decided to take the cliff railway down to Lynmouth and enjoy a delightful breakfast at the Ancient Mariner instead."

"After reading all the glowing reviews of The Mason Arms restaurant pub we were both excited but nervous as it had so much to live up to . Well we were not disappointed. Everything about the whole experience was excellent. Nice welcome ambience in a truly old fashion pub. The focus is naturally all on the food it is mind blowingly outstanding . We thoroughly enjoyed our starters, main course and deserts all 10 out of 10. Superb interesting wine list."

"Had lunch with friends here and found the food to be of high quality and a reasonable price to for the area. Allergen information is well listed on the menu and the chef was happy to change my friends ordered dish to accommodate her. Wasn't a really warm day so we sat inside. which was a shame because the outdoor area looks very good. Pub is atmospheric and they let us use the pool table for free. Overall enjoyed and the only slight negative was the place was showing signs of general wear and tear. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!"

"Wandering in town and have 10 minutes to kill. My usual place (not costa) was mega busy. So thought I will do a Costa. Mistake! First off I don 't mind a queue. The inefficency of the staff is what was causing the queue. The staff member being Barista was with the gentleman ahead of me and kept asking what the drinks were. Fine it is a big order.....nope 2 drinks. The staff member then is reminded that he hadn 't paid yet. I then placed my order, cortado and a croissant. The barista then had to ask how to make a cortado once they were in the know, the coffee was ground and the milk steamed. She then realised that there were no cortado glasses! Her colleague went off in search of one, so I thought. She apologised for the delay only for the colleague to return empty handed. When asked there was cortado glasses on the worktop behind her. The best bit.......the ground coffee had been left in the portafilter for the duration. It was then used and so was the milk which had also been standing waiting. Hey presto a luke warm cortado! The croissant was stale, I mean like yesterdays bake stale..... Not a good experience. I enjoy my italian coffee experiences, but this was not one of them."

"We have visited this restaurant for lunch several times over the years while walking in the Woolacombe area. It is always enjoyable to sit outside in the sun and there is ample outdoor seating available. The restaurant offers a great selection of locally brewed beers and cider. We tried the Exmoor Gold and Bay Devon Dumpling ales, both of which were well-kept, as well as Thatcher’s Gold Cider. We both ordered the Ploughman's Lunch, which included a generous portion of ham and cheese. Despite the busy atmosphere on a sunny day, our food arrived promptly."

"We almost didn 't go here because of the cheesy website link in their Trip Advisor page (ignore it; it 's wrong! but we 're SO glad we did! The decor is modern, clean and welcoming. If you enjoy a 'diner-style ' menu and BIG portions, then this is the lace for you. The food really was delicious. Service was excellent; friendly and attentive but not over-bearing. Prices are reasonable. If I lived locally, I 'd visit often!"

"I had read about the Chichester Arms via accommodation info as I was visiting Bishops Taunton the North Devon area for a holiday. As this pub was conveniently located on the same road to where I was staying. I popped in confirmed dogs were allowed asked whether a booking was needed in order to eat, I was advised booking was advisable but there was availability for that evening depending on the time I intended to eat. I was flexible with my timings so was happy to take a table knowing it was booked from 7.30pm so there was time for me to eat and vacate it before the booked time. I came back approx 40 mins after my initial enquiry was shown to the back section of the pub where it seemed most tables were set for larger groups but was happy to have a table free. On looking at the main course menu, there was an extensive choice available but only 2 vegetarian options. I asked my server about both of these and decided to chose the veggie chilli. There were no extras on the specials board as noted 1 shown as Spinach Ricotta cannelloni but this was the other dish already listed in the mains section so no additional veggie options for choice. The chosen meal was tasty enough but I feel there could have been more of the actual chilli as it felt like a bowl of nachos with melted cheese, 2 servings of salsa, 1 serving of sour cream and guacamole and then the chilli in the middle. Although there was no issue with the service, I think the options for vegetarians should be widened and re-consider the balance on a meal like the one I chose as not convinced it was worth the price for what was mainly nacho crisps with a few toppings, it’s possible the spinach and ricotta cannelloni may have been better value for money. I was grateful that this pub was dog friendly and that I could be accommodated and have a reasonable meal of sorts after a long drive to North Devon without having to venture further a field on my first day in the area. My overall rating is boosted by the service as had that not been welcoming, I would have said my visit was ‘average’"

"What a gem! We visited on what must have been the busiest and hottest weekend of the year so far and the service was faultless. Lovely decor, efficient, attentive and very friendly service, absolutely delicious food. We visited with our 3 children after a long hot day on the beach and there was nothing that was too much trouble. It was so good our children asked to come back the next day and if anything, our experience was even better second time round. The care taken and concern to ensure we had a chilled bottle of wine at the end of the day when ice stocks were running low was brilliant. We would heartily reccommend Captain's Table and hope we are able to return on our next holiday in North Devon."

"We have eaten at the Red Barn many many times but since COVID they have changed their menu and booking system. In my opinion it is for the better. The service was excellent and we had the best meal we’ve ever had there. A smaller menu but the quality of the food was fabulous. Looking forward to returning there when we are next in Woolacombe"

"We were staying locally for a week, and ended up eating here three times, once for lunch, once in the evening and finally breakfast. All three meals were very good. The “soft tacos” are effectively fajitas. Salsa, guacamole, spiced chicken with peppers and small-ish tortilla...wraps. They were good, as were the chicken wings good sized portion for the price served with a tasty side salad. The spicy nduja pizza was enjoyable, as was the stroganoff. And the breakfast was smashing good quality ingredients served hot. The key thing the Depot has achieved is to have recruited an enthusiastic, helpful and friendly crew. On each visit they were attentive and always asked if everything was okay. Which it was. It’s a dog friendly establishment, which suited us well as we have one and couldn’t leave him in our holiday accommodation. And I must mention the toilets. I can’t remember having done so in a review before, but they were a pleasure to use. Sparklingly clean. Well supplied. Couldn’t ask for more. I’ve given four stars not five because the menu is limited and it’s not fine dining. But the food and service was very good indeed and good value for money."
