"About five or six years ago, the Link was my top pick for eating out in our area, then it inexplicably closed and changed into a succession of Indian restaurants. Don 't get me wrong fine restaurants in themselves, but the Link was the best Cantonese restaurant I 've ever eaten in. I was so pleased to see that the original owners had returned and reopened it again, but there 's always the worry, would it really be as good as I remembered? Set on the bottom half of Measham 's main street, the Link is a renovated pub, with copious parking to the rear. A decent sized restaurant, with seating suitable for all sizes of party. As it was a quiet Thursday night, we managed to get the round table (more social) with the 'Lazy Susan ' in the middle; great fun was had by all rotating the dishes around the table. The service was as friendly and helpful as I remembered with prawn crackers to munch on whilst you peruse the huge menu. Being rather lazy, we went for the set meal C for 4. Set meals range from around £15 per person for the Vegetarian to about £25 for the full works banquet. The first course was a platter to share with sesame toast, won tons, chicken satay, barbecue ribs, seaweed and spring rolls, all very tasty and a great start to the meal, the chicken satay being particularly flavoursome. The next course was superbly cooked aromatic duck, eloquently served up by the owner; perfectly cooked duck, shredded spring onion and cucumber, with sweet plum sauce perfect! The course pacing was perfect, 15 20 minutes between each course, the TsingTao was flowing down nicely, the signs that the Link had returned with a bang, were good. The main courses were the only thing that could knock this from a 5 star rating, thankfully the four dishes that came with our set meal were largely a triumph, the beef in black bean sauce, just melted in the mouth, the two chicken dishes were bursting with flavour and the seafood dish in a birds nest, had a good variety with scallops, mussels and squid, but lacked a little flavour. The large portion of Yung Chow Rice that came with the main dishes complimented each dish perfectly too. A great meal, overall, I don 't think I 've ever been so happy to see a restaurant return, this will definitely become one of our regular haunts again, happy days!"

"Hi, I think FUEL is an interesting place worth visiting. I have been three times now, plus one occasion when it was closed! The first time I went with my daughter, we had a lovely smoothie and fruit pancakes which I highly recommend. The second time with my other daughter, I had a healthy slaw and some interesting beetroot tortilla chips with paprika, which we also enjoyed. With those two visits under my belt, I was highly recommending it and suggesting we should go back. However, when I went today with my partner and eldest daughter, I was a bit disappointed. The menu had grown and seemed more mainstream. We ordered a fuel breakfast, a vegetarian wrap, seasoned nachos, and a green Thai slaw. The food was overall good, but I was disappointed with the slaw and nachos. The nachos were just tortilla chips from a bag, and the slaw was plain coleslaw with no garnish. The waiter manager did ask if there was anything he could do, but I was unsure if there was. In conclusion, it was a mixed experience. I don't want to criticize the place too harshly for one bad experience, but I feel it's important to provide feedback. I recommend they make some changes to that part of the menu. If you're looking to try somewhere different, give FUEL a try, but maybe ask about the dishes before ordering. On a similar note, if you want somewhere different and interesting, try Sonny's Street Food in Loughborough."

"If you haven't tried this restaurant yet, please do, you won't be disappointed and I cannot recommend it enough. This restaurant needs it's own clear listing on Trip Advisor to differentiate it from the Donington Manor Hotel, please claim it Donington Manor! The Sage Restaurant, situated inside the hotel currently has Craig Riley as their head chef. Craig is extremely talented, dishing up Michelin standard food. We had the A La Carte menu here a few weeks ago. I read the excellent reviews but initially discounted the restaurant because dinner service is 6.30 8.30 and we struggle with babysitters. However we happened to meet Craig in the hotel car park during the Castle Donington Fair and he offered to serve us dinner on a Friday afternoon, on a day we had booked off work to celebrate my partners birthday. We're so pleased we went and are already trying to find a way to return with friends as soon as we can. The food was incredible and such good value for money considering the quality and cooking techniques used. We were served more courses than we bargained for and the service was brilliant they're clearly just a really good bunch that want to wow customers, it was an all round enjoyable experience and the kind of food you think about for days after!! If you live locally and take Donington Manor for granted, look again and make the effort to go, we are so luckily to have Craig's talent on our door step."
