"Arrived for a very early flight. Upstairs Castle Rock was packed (Castle Rock is the much better restaurant that we always go to). Waited in a queue for minutes to get a table for when the restaurant was half empty. Staff not...doing much, wandering around aimlessly. Average time claimed minutes. I get we were a slightly larger group, but this establishment must cater for large groups every hour so I don’t think that was the problem. We got drinks after minutes, and probably would still be waiting for our breakfasts today. We had left more than enough time to comfortably get onto our flight, yet ended up having to cancel our food orders after minutes waiting, hour in total, and run to catch it. Staff were a nightmare, barring perhaps the woman taking people to their tables. Our waitress could do nothing to solve the problem of us waiting, in fact another waitress came over and asked us if we’d had our food yet we’d been waiting so long. A member of our party then cancelled the food order, to which the waitress looked upset about, and we said we’d have to pay for drinks and leave quickly. She then messed up the bill, so we almost paid for the food we had not eaten. She went back to the manager who ‘fixed’ it: the bill came back the same. At this point, the rest of the party had to run to the gate to catch our flight, whilst me and my father just put cash in the waitress’s hand for the drinks (which at this point should have been free considering their false “average waiting time” and the subsequent time-consuming mishaps) and ran to the gate. A completely unnecessary stressful beginning to our holiday. This branch will always get customers because there is a captive audience, but I would highly recommend anyone to go to the Castle Rock restaurant upstairs rather than this place, as we usually do. Awful."

We were served by a lovely, friendly, and helpful waitress named Sabrina. She assisted us in choosing starters to share and promptly brought our wine, recognizing our excitement to be on vacation. The food was delicious, with no complaints. A big thank you to Sabrina for her excellent service.

I entered the restaurant, looked at the menu, and ordered at the bar. It wasn't until I sat back down and placed my luggage on the floor that I noticed how dirty everything was. The floors were filthy, the bin was overflowing, and the staff appeared to be doing nothing. I will never come back here again!

Foods good if you can get it u queue for ages bearing in mind everyone has a flight to catch then if you're lucky enough to get a seat then wait ages to be served. All the staff are busy the problem is theres not...enough staff. We gave up in the end and went elsewhere as with everyone we had a flight to catch!

Ordered scrambled eggs on toast and bacon pot of tea and a latte. Scrambled eggs were just a runny mess on dry toast totally unedilble. Tea and coffee were just dumped on table one spoon between My advice give it a miss and...go to Castle Rock instead. If flying from east midlands again I will definitely body swerve F&B's

We had a few drinks at this chain of F&B whilst waiting for our flight. Typical layout of this restaurant with little booths and Italian style decor. Good choice of food available here, especially for breakfasts. Didn’t eat here on this occasion however have in...the best and no problems then. Staff were really friendly.... ended up having a few beers and cocktails here so did notice. Overall, best place in EMA in my opinion.

As our flight was delayed there was no problem that there was a queue for a table. Once seated our order was taken straight away but then we waited for our drinks to arrive. As we had ordered a pot of tea and a tap...water I would have expected it not to take minutes. Once the drinks had arrived I asked for a teaspoon to stir the tea. The waitress had obviously forgotten so I asked again and she came back with a desert spoon as they did not have a clean teaspoon in the whole of the restaurant. The waitress said it was mad in there that day. Once our breakfast arrived it was fine but we did wait a while and it was only toast and porridge. I asked for the bill which again took time to reach us...

"Nipped in for a quick bite on a Friday evening. We went up to what looked like the restaurant bar and asked if it was possible to get a table but were directed to the main bar to ask about this. The place was packed- getting served at the internal bar would have been a bit of a fight. Had a similar experience on a visit here before because there's not much space around the bar so you tend to get an impenetrable crowd instead of any sort of line. Eventually managed to get the attention of a member of staff and were told the restaurant was fully booked, however we could sit outside and order food at the bar to our outside table. Would have saved us some time if that was communicated through the team and relayed by the first person we asked instead of sending us to queue elsewhere. We did order to an outside table, and the food was excellent. The small pizzas really are quite small. But if you have a couple of sides they're perfect to not overstuff you. If you want to just eat pizza probably get a large. Also they had really interesting topping selections on the pizzas- I had the spiced aubergine, creme fraiche and honey. It was absolutely delicious. The chips were hot and well seasoned, the greek salad also really nice- I did miss the addition of peppers and would possibly remove the pea shoots and sub in the peppers to improve this and keep it more authentic though. Drinks were nice and the atmosphere inside was quite cosy and outside had a nice vibe with the tasteful lightning and wooden furniture. Would definitely return (but probably make a reservation. It's busy for a reason!"

"We stayed for one night prior to a flight at East Midlands Airport and everything was excellent, from the warm, welcoming staff, to the rooms and the simply delicious food (evening and breakfast). Firstly the pub: food, drinks, restaurant… All excellent. The sign of a great pub for ale drinkers is one with knowledgeable staff who are keen to let you sample before deciding on a pint. This was the case here and we worked through all five real ales during the afternoon and evening! Also a great selection of wines, and everything served in the correct glasses I loved the attention to detail. Then the evening meal in the restaurant area of the pub: this was also excellent, with a great menu and top food, in plentiful portions. Really delicious all ‘round. We didn’t manage desserts but starters and mains all great. The pub/restaurant is well presented inside and out, with a lovely beer garden at the back. Secondly, the hotel rooms: we were in rooms 1 2 and both were lovely. They were well presented, comfy beds, nice hospitality tray (with fresh milk in the in room fridge), nice toiletries. The room rate included breakfast, which was all freshly cooked to order and once again, a great selection. I would 100% stay here again, especially if going to/from East Midlands airport which was less than a 10 minute drive. A lovely, traditional country Inn with excellent food and hospitality. Thank you to the full team."
