"This review covers two visits, the first late last summer and the second just after Christmas. First the BAD NEWS!!!!! We walked down to Millies last summer with a couple of friends, even though we had stopped going due to the previous attitude of the owner and the state of the place. We sat outside just as a large party left the table. It was covered in plates with the remnants of their meal and lots of half filled glasses along with a pool of melted ice cream under the table. I told our friends it would probably take half an hour for it to be cleaned was wrong it only took 25 minutes! The pool of ice cream was not touched. All this time the owner was parked on a table chatting to people totally oblivious to the state of the place there were several tables in the same state .Fast forward to just after Christmas. A bright, sunny afternoon and we decided to go for a walk. As we passed a very busy Millies we thought lets just have one. I went to the bar while the wife went to a table near the front where people were getting up. As i waited at the bar a young waitress went up to the table to tell my wife she could not sit there. My wife pointed out there was no reserved sign only to be told there were people waiting i don 't know where . As this was taking place the owner bustled pst saying ' oh this could be trouble '. The good lady wife conducted herself very well, bit her tongue gave me the nod and we walked out. The rudest owner i have met in one of the grubbiest bars i have been in and i 've been in a few! will not be seeing us ever again unless it is sold on to someone who has some idea how to look after a bar and treat people with a modicum of respect. Now for the GOOD NEWS!!!! Apparently Pavs cafe, opposite, has been bought by a local guy who has plenty experience of the trade and intends to turn it into a bar. This should be a great alternative to the other place and if his prices are only a little more reasonable than them it can only succeed. Good Luck to him."

"Lovely cafe next door to the Premier Inn which was ideal for grabbing some snacks/ breakfast. Fairly priced items definitely value for money, considering it is located in a train station. They’d got a good choice of food as well, lovely cobs with generous fillings (which were perfect for grabbing, ready for eating on the train). Friendly staff atmosphere couldn’t ask for much better. Will definitely be back when we’re next in Margate thank you! Loved the Panda on the hot chocolate! Simple touch but shows the owners go that extra mile to make things nice."

"Read the reviews here about the owner- spot on- a one off. Always chatting and cracking jokes with every one. Got here early and the restaurant soon filled up. The owner seemed to be front of house and also running into the kitchen for...a few minutes and the service was a bit hit and miss. Waited an hour for my food- there were obviously problems some where. When I eventually got my order it was very good- veg pathia- pilau rice and a puri naan- the naans were off the menu because the owner's wife- who is the chef- had been off or a day and they were always made freshly. Food was obviously freshly made- so different from many places- although my pathia was a tad too sweet for my taste- just a personal prefernce. All in all a very good restaurant where the food is freshly cooked- just wished the service had been quciker."

"We were on a day visit to Ramsgate just down the road from Margate (Cliftonville) and spotted Rileys, coincidentally having the same surname we just had to go for Coffee and Cakes. We were served by a pleasant lady, Kim, who we found jointly ran the business with Chris. We must say that the coffee was second to none and blew spots off of Costa's and at a fraction of the cost Good luck to you both, you deserve it with customer service superb. By the way Kim hope you have a great holiday, you helped to make our visit most enjoyable."

"We had a wonderful dining experience tonight when we ate inside. The hostess went out of her way to accommodate us and find a table, even though it would have been simpler for her to turn us away. The food was exceptional, especially the locally caught skate, which was delicious."

"Me, my mum and daughter were in wwx looking for somewhere cheap to have a coffee and eat, this place looked busy so thought we would try it, quickly i realised there was no clear tables after waiting 5 mins for someone to clear a table i had enough and took everything off myself and took it too the counter, a woman im guessing is the manager (dark hair older woman) then told me to take it into the back where the kitchen is so they can wash it like i was a member of staff, i then decided to go to the toilet where i found human faeces on the floor, i quickly exited and told the same lady in which is replied “thats fine dont worry about it ill sort it in a bit” the tone of her voice sounded like she wasn't shocked at all almost like someone else had also complained about it. I think its completely unacceptable that this wasnt dealt with as urgent, i didnt see anyone go to deal with it in the next 5 mins so we quickly left and ate elsewhere, never in my life have i ever come across somewhere that has such low standards and treats customers like staff defiantly will not be returning."

"Stooped in here for an ice cream. First visit, won 't be our last. 2 of us had ice cream in little tubs, strawberry cheesecake and Rum Raisin. There were over 30 flavours to choose from! Dreamy ice cream. 2 of us went for a single 99 cone. The whippy ice cream for the cones is their own secret recipe and thank goodness we only went for a single cone each. It was absolutely delicious, undoubtedly the best whippy ice ream I have had in a long time and the biggest. It was like a 3 course meal. The double, I am sure, will not be for the fainthearted. Delightful staff, an ice cream menu to die for. We will be back to try a Sundae. For lunch, I think. This is a gem in Ramsgate and should not be missed."

"My friend and I went for Sunday lunch and were not disappointed. The staff were very welcoming and gave us plenty of time to enjoy our food between courses, which was great because we ended up having 3 courses! The food was delicious, well-cooked with a great selection of fresh vegetables. We started with cheese and leek croquettes, which came with a spicy dip, and were delicious! For our main course, we had roast beef. My friend had it rare and I wanted mine cooked a little more, which they did without any issues - very pleased about that. The roast beef was served with a huge Yorkshire pudding, tasty roast potatoes, 3 fresh vegetables, and a delicious gravy. For dessert, I had the salted caramel tart which had the thinnest pastry and was rich and delicious. My friend had the pecan tart, which looked lovely and she said tasted as good as it looked. We didn't feel rushed at all, which was lovely. They also had another section of the restaurant where you could dine with your dog, which was a great idea. I would highly recommend this place for a roast or a snack with a relaxing atmosphere."

"Decided to visit this chip shop and saw advertised in the window “ Mini fish and Chips for £5 ! So I ordered 2 portions pointing out the advert to the person behind the counter . He replied that it would take 10 minutes ,to which I replied that’s fine and took a seat . When the food was ready I was beckoned over and was shocked and taken aback to be asked for …… £13 And not the expected £10 ! I pointed this discrepancy out but the lad behind the counter wasn’t interested and just said “ That’s the price …. And it’s wrapped up now ! “ I politely stood my ground and said that the price was wrong and pointed to the ad in the window ,at which point the owner intervened and got stroppy with me ,speaking partly in English and partly in another language . He said that £13 was the right price and it’s going up again next week ! I replied that whilst I know the price of things is going up , that’s not the price advertised in the window . He at this point still in a temper came round from behind the counter and said he was changing the price in the window …NOW ! I said that doesn’t help me in this current situation . At this point I reluctantly paid the £13 and took the food home . The chips were ok but the fish wasn’t cod but a cheaper fish , pollack ! On reflection I’m upset and disappointed to be treated like this and can’t believe that a village fish and chip shop dependant in its village community should treat a member of its village community so badly . Some serious consideration needs to be given to the level of customer service and satisfaction in this establishment . If I was the owner last night the very least that I would have done was to apologise for the wrong price , let me have it for £5 each and say the price from now on is £6.50 each ,but the owner didn’t do that and just threw a strop and not giving a monkeys about customer satisfaction . It goes without saying that I won’t rushing back there again anytime soon but will use The Minnis fish and Chips in nearby Birchington where I know what the price is and I don’t get cheap pollack served up as cod !"

"I almost don't want to recommend this cute cafe I'd like it to remain slightly undiscovered so there is always a table for me and my friends but it deserves a good review! It's a great find at the quieter end of Broadstairs beach, just a few tables at the edge of the sea, wonderful bacon and sausage sandwiches, and for us, a great way to start a Sunday morning when we visit Broadstairs.. You sit right next to the beach or on the beach if the few tables are busy , take in the sea air, just watch the quiet world. Busy bank holidays .... well, still as cute, but busy ! and a long wait for food, The staff are polite and friendly and very apologetic if you do have to wait a bit. Not sure if this is open all year round or just seasonal. Think we've been August, September and April, May only,"

"Took my wife and eldest Granddaughter for a Sunday Carvery at Stonelees. It was first class! We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table to peruse the 3 course menu. We decided against a starter to ensure we had room for dessert! The carvery had a choice of Roast Beef, Turkey, Gammon, (or all 3! served with stuffing balls, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and red wine gravy. Vegetables were served at the table. Everything was cooked to perfection, piping hot and delicious! The desserts we chose were amazing, prepared with TLC! The service by the waitresses was faultless, thank you. It was 'refreshing ' to have water on the table and additional drinks could also be purchased. It was a nice touch for the chef to come and have a chat with us at our table. It also gave us to opportunity to thank him and his team for a tasty lunch. Without hesitation, we 'll be back. But as for today, it 's battling the winds with 9 holes on the Executive Course!"

"The evening started with a friendly, warm welcome. We were struggling to find a decent restaurant in the area and were recommended the Corner House. We had simple requirements, firstly when we book a table we expect it to be a table for the evening, there is no quality in dining in an establishment with two sittings. We never felt rushed. Secondly I like the service and the quality of foods to appear effortless, which it did. Clearly a tremendous amount of effort went into every detail from the foods, side salad, homemade sauces and deserts. Attention to detail was obvious and the service was perfect, just the correct amount of contact from the enthusiastic staff without being intrusive or overbearing. Thirdly I rate a restaurant on whether or not I could replicate the meal better, similarly or not at all. On this occasion my extra blue rib eye was one of the finest steaks I’ve ever eaten and I grew up in French fine dining. The homemade bread platter, starter, mains, deserts, coffee were all perfect. The visit was mid week and the restaurant was fairly busy. The atmosphere, ambience and surroundings enhanced a great meal. Most restaurants in the area (apart from The Marquis in Alkham Valley) are very mediocre, tedious, churning out the latest fads and boring, this wasn’t. We will definitely visit again, the staff were attentive, kind and warm."

"I am sad to say it was the worst Chinese I 've had and some was unbeatable. The chicken balls had something in the middle that was soft and almost spreadable. No way was it chicken. The rice had tiny bits of bone in which broke my filling which cost me over £70 today. The chow mein was bland and again the 'chicken in it was vile. I thought it was uncooked fish. We spent £80 yesterday. The beef dish again the beef looked boiled. The Singapore noodles were too spicy to eat. Other dishes included squid and king prawns but I didn 't eat those. Won 't go back. Only went as my usual one was closed. Worst birthday meal I 've ever had!"

"Although fairly local, I had never visited this delightful bakery before. The owners are warm, lovely and friendly. The interior is unique and a real treat, especially for little ones I expect. I ordered a nice take away coffee and two filled rolls, which were so fresh, soft and very generously filled with high quality ingredients. I thought the price was incredibly reasonable, especially considering the quality of the products. The cakes looked amazing and the way all the items were arranged, was exquisite. I am glad I finally visited ‘Naughty But Nice’ and highly recommend it. I wish them all the very best as they deserve great success."

"We popped in for a cup of tea and decided to stay for Sunday Lunch. We are really happy we did, the food was lovely. We both had a Sunday Roast Beef Lunch, which was served piping hot, with plenty of meat, gravy and vegetables, my husband also had a dessert Apple Crumble with Custard which was also very good. It has been a few years since we last dined here, the Hotel Restaurant has now been completely refurbished to a very good standard The Restaurant was spotlessly clean, also the toilets are now updated, very clean and very much improved since our last visit. On arrival we had a friendly greeting from Grahame who was working in the San Clu Reception. Zoe was our waitress, she was a breath of fresh air, cheerful, friendly, happy to help, she answered all our questions re our food orders, and she even sang a little song as she disappeared into the kitchen. After todays visit we would be happy to recommend the San Clu Restaurant to our friends family, we fully intend to return in the near future."

"when a restaurant advertises that they make their own brot, smoke their own fish and metzger their own meat, I enter with great expectations. If a restaurant has a beautiful view, I tend to lower my expectations to the food quality, as it seems to be an unwritten rule that says, the better the view, the more moderate the eating is. wyatt jones breaks this really happy – there is nothing mediocre about their food, its quality radiated. first we had made a few of their beautiful home brot – I would recommend the walnut and cranberry, but not too much and pamper their appetit for the rest of the meal. my companion then ordered beef trees with senfmaic and kale, it was...read more"

"I took my mother to the Two Sisters restaurant for her birthday last Sunday. We were immediately greeted and informed about the brunch options (i.e. buffet versus brunch specials and other adjustments, such as turkey bacon instead of pork). I think this is a great place for a relaxed brunch and definitely for a mother-daughter date. We loved the food and the service. We drove to a Groupon and will definitely drive again without the Groupon. Worth it."
