"Went in on Friday for a takeaway to eat on the beach, as we had used this chip shop on previous visits to Broadstairs and liked it. Seems to have changed hands since then, so was concerned it might not be up to scratch. Order taken at door, told it would be 8-9 minute wait, so I went for a walk, Needn't have worried. When I got back it was almost ready. Fish, chips delicious and fresh. Curry sauce great too. Expensive, but fish and chips is no longer a cheap meal."

My husband and I both had cod and chips, he had mushy peas and I had garden pease and a gherkin. Thoroughly enjoyed. Lovely staff. Also licensed.

Delicious fish and chips which we ate whilst looking at the beach/sea. Best of all was the fabulous, friendly service great way of taking orders at the door.

Very nice, cod and chips. A good size portion, fish nicely cooked and non greasy. Sat inside and the service was friendly and efficient even though a busy Bank Holiday.

Just wanted a quick meal in between seeing gigs at the Broadstairs Blues Bash. Very welcoming staff. Lovely fish and chips. Very tasty and not greasy. Just what we wanted and will definitely return. Thank you

Worst chips I’ve ever tasted. Think they were the day before’s refried. Tasted of dirty oil and left a horrible taste. Eat three of them then they went in the bin A complete waste of £3.90. Such a shame for a prime location chip shop.

Had fish and chips for lunch with a friend down for the day on the coast. Excellent meal, great service, very reasonably priced. Ate indoors but takeaways available (just find a place away from the prying eyes of the local seagulls! .

Was not asked to pay till after. Thought my order was called, I went up to pay instead of the staff checking if it was my order I paid for somebody else’s food and they then called out my order after I paid. instead of refunding me I paid my own food and theirs. and the girl behind the counter proceeded to blame me. asking why I came up. This is why you get customers to pay their order first. not after

It was a cold and rainy day and we wanted to have lunch to warm up and we stumbled across this fab fish and chips place just by the cathedral. And I'm so pleased that we did. We were given a warm welcome and sat at a large table with a huge menu full of lovely looking options. All cooked freshly, the food was delicious with their home made tartar sauce made for a very lovely lunch. And I must also say that the portions were very generous. Very tasty!

"Having been raised at the knees of Caribbean and African women, sometimes I’m just in need of some soul food. I’ve often gone past Mullins and seen that it is busy, and looks bright, clean, warm and friendly. And it is. The decor works really well. Low-key, warm and welcoming. Music is a soothing stream of lilting Caribbean classics. The waiting staff are lovely. So friendly. And the menu looks great. There isn’t too much of it, and it is quite hard to choose because it all sounds amazing. Price points are really good. But. The food is genuinely terrible. I went for a Creole fish stew. I don’t know how you can make a stew without flavour. When you are cooking things slowly and together, flavour infuses flavour. But not here. This was a good sized portion of piping hot well presented food. But my God it tasted awful. Basically chopped potato surrounded by small lumps of bland unidentifiable white fish, half a dozen mussels, some of which were still closed, and therefore inedible, and three flavourless prawns in shells. There was a pinch of Samphire on the top, and this was the sum total of the vegetables I could find. It came in what I can only describe as a thick red sauce. If there was tomato in it, there was no flavour to it. It was highly salty, and this was the dominant flavour throughout. The fish had no flavour of fish, and it was intensely spiced in a lip plumping way. Essentially, it was all heat and salt. With a slight tang of gents toilets. I suspect this was from the mussels. I did raise the blandness twice with the waiter, and the strange unpleasant toilet flavour. He said he would tell chef. And that was that. No feedback on the dreadful flavour other than that it was all fresh. I ate the entirety of the meal because I had travelled a long way and had not eaten. I saw it simply as fuel. It was not enjoyable. I paid and left. Mullins is so close to getting everything right, but a restaurant is its food. I’m not going back."
