"The rooms looked very nice and at first felt cost in the day. Later on I tried my TV to chill out and watch something and had issues getting it to do anything just a blank screen with noise coming out. Figured out that the controller batteries were probably an issue so went to the front to ask for replacements. The guy asked around and said they had none. If that was me I would have tried sort this as soon as possible. The food was dreadful and very expensive. My Mum had an over cooked fish dish (rubber) and smash on top (nearly £20) and manky looking cabbage. Dad's pork chop looked weird with more gravy than food and his beer was warm. Must admit my steak was alright but it's hard to enjoy it when the rest of your family are not enjoying theirs. We braved dessert hoping for an improvement and got a horrible dry brownie with cold out the bottle fake chocolate sauce and spilt coffee with no offer to clean it up. There was no heating in the rooms and the curtains weren't big enough so loads of light woke me up early. To be fair the rooms looked good, but it was the things mentioned that let the place down. Was looking forward to a nice stay in a quirky pub, but unfortunately It was a really disappointed."

"The perfect stopover! I commute across the M4 frequently, and was forever fed up with the noisy services at Membury and Chieveley. Just 5-8 minutes from Junction 13, I can guarantee it's an infinitely, nicer, quieter and more tasty stopover! The staff are absolutely delightful, (as well as being situated in the beautiful village of Yattendon, if you fancy a walk around), deliciously well made coffee, cakes, sandwiches and cooked breakfasts, and plenty of easy parking. It's also dog friendly, vegan and gluten free friendly, and provides all alternative milks. Highly recommend!!!"

"very nice layout, lots of space a bit like italy, but in thatcham. the entire staff was excellent very friendly and welcoming service was fantastic, many choice and good value for money. I would and will recommend this restaurant to everyone."

"The service was good. The servers were very friendly and helped us choose our dishes. In terms of taste , if you are Desi like me, it's not Desi... It's English Indian food BUT that does not mean it's not bad. I had the lamb karahi and it was more of a lamb curry , but it was nice, I didn't expect a real karahi to be honest. In this area, this is a good indian food place to try. Expect to pay 20 per person easily for starters ,main, drink. One of my friends got the biryani, it was burnt tasting and not biryani at all..All in all , relative to the area and what it offers. This is a good place to eat."

"The atmosphere here is a little more sophisticated than at the Spotted Dog. My build your own fish burger was great the fried egg wonderfully cooked atop and a great combination with the Brie. The chips were spot on and not greasy. However, the same cannot be said about the onion rings they were soggy and evidently fried in the fish oil. My partner’s cheese onion omlette was a little dry. The onion ought to have been fried and then added to the omlette rather than be given raw to the side. Otherwise, friendly service and a great vibe I recommend and hopefully the chef will incorporate my constructive criticisms."

"The Traveller's Friend is a very friendly pub and restaurant. I recently had knee surgery and they were very accommodating to ensure my comfort. The Sunday roast was superb, and they also had a variety of delicious desserts. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. Thank you."

"We went to this restaurant for my partner's birthday lunch and we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food. Despite being quite busy, we didn't have to wait long for our meal. My partner chose the cheesecake of the day, which was banana flavored, and it was absolutely delicious. It was a nice change from the usual options. We definitely plan on returning in the future!"
