"When we arrived, we tried to make a reservation but couldn't get through by phone. Fortunately, there was no problem getting a table as it was surprisingly quiet for a Friday night. We ordered four venison dishes and two duck dishes, which soon arrived. Unfortunately, all of the venison meals were cold, including the mashed potatoes. We spoke to our waitress about this, and she assured us she would take care of it. The dishes came back, and as we dug in again, we found they were still lukewarm. The venison itself was tougher than I remembered from my previous visit. I mentioned this to our waitress, and in response, we received some complimentary French fries, which the kids loved and were hot—unlike the mashed potatoes. To her credit, the waitress apologized again and mentioned that to make up for the cold venison and mash, she had arranged free desserts for all of us, which was a nice touch. The desserts were delightful; the ice cream profiteroles were a hit with both the kids and the adults. The meal would have easily earned five stars if the main courses had been hot. It’s disappointing because I truly enjoy the location and the home-cooked quality of the food. I hope my experience was just a fluke, but with the current challenges facing restaurants, it's essential to be consistently at your best. Everyone is feeling the pinch these days, and a negative experience could prevent us from returning."

Beautiful location. We had lunch while watching a beautiful green valley ahead of us. I had the best Sunday Roast ever! Plus the portions were huge and filling!

We had a fantastic lunch today at The Pot Kiln. Despite a minor mix-up in the kitchen, our delightful conversation with the staff left us eager to return. The Pot Kiln is definitely worth a visit, and we will be back for sure. Service: 5 Location: 4

An amazing pub, tucked away, but serving delicious home cooked food. Service was superb as was the food. We arrived just in time as lunches were being stopped, shortly Food drinks: Great food made with local produce and good selection of alcohol Hotel highlights: Quiet View menu

Although the TV chef has left, their legacy lives on at this pub in a stunning location in a hidden valley. With a nice beer garden and a quaint bar, the pub offers their own pizzas in a wood oven outside during the summer. This unique touch should help the pub survive through these challenging times.

Really enjoyed my stay. It’s a little out of the way, but worth it. A warm welcome, excellent food and service, a clean room with hot, powerful shower (important) and a good breakfast. Would recommend. Rooms: Small but clean. Lots of plug sockets. Complimentary water. Great shower. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great value

Last year, we dined at the Pot Kiln and had an amazing experience. The atmosphere was lovely, although the tables were a bit closer together than what I'm used to. The baked pork belly I had was incredibly tender, the roast pigeon starter was delicious (not the vomit-eating ones from Trafalgar Square), and the dessert was heavenly. The only downside was the price, as it was quite high for two people without alcohol. Despite that, we will definitely be returning as the meal was amazing. View menu

Located in a beautiful, secluded setting just minutes from the motorway junction, The Pot Kiln is a charming restaurant. Despite arriving late due to delays, we were warmly welcomed and seated by the cozy fireplace. The homemade focaccia was a highlight, and we enjoyed dishes like Ragu of Berkshire Hare and Pave of Linkenfolt Fallow Deer, both flavorful and well-executed. Desserts like Homemade Bread Butter Pudding and Honey Rosemary Pannacotta were also delicious. The only downside was the lack of baby changing facilities, but overall, it was a great dining experience.

We went out for dinner on a Friday night. The pub was relatively quiet but the bar area was a bit noisy making the resturant quite echoey. One of us had brilliant food crayfish cocktail and venison pave. The venison melted in the mouth and despite the generous portion could have eaten this for pudding too! My husband 's food wasn 't as good, sausages were very lamby and not in a good way (he loves lamb), and the meat in the game pie was tough. We both went for the lemon tart/brulee which was lovely. Service was spot on although the waitress suggested alcohol full beers when asked for alcohol free (there were no alcohol free beers). All in we had a lovely evening, but the food was hit and mis...
