"Stopped coming here a year ago because of many issues, but reluctantly retuned early June to find the place had transformed back to what i remembered from years gone. Warm and welcoming with a lovely atmosphere. Everything was a plus the staff were so friendly one Emily in particular. We as a family thought new owners had taken over. As the management seemed different and to be fair the food was amazing. and despite the cost this was a treat that was truly worth it. We all couldn't wait to return. However fast forward a few months we all returned as a group to be so disappointed in the whole experience. The atmosphere we loved seemed to have disappeared and the feeling of warmth had gone. service was average but the food was so below par. we decided to ask why this had happened but was met by rudeness on a great scale by a young man claiming to be the assistant. Who claimed no one else had complained so what was the problem. No apology at all. We were goin to ask for a full refund but my wife decided to leave as she was too upset. The Manager came out as we left. too late if me and my whole party were concerned. I'm sure he was the Chef before, Perhaps he should return to the kitchen. This has always been considered a treat at the bunk what with the cost of living crisis. But myself and my friends will now spend our money somewhere else where you can get real value for money where people know what customer service and standards really are and your given that feeling that you would love to return. Here none of us will return and hope this review and experience may help others when thinking of treating themselves or using those extra pennies that are precious. Have no idea what is goin on here what a disaster. We all felt Cheated."

We really enjoy going for food! Taste great and great staff! We go most Sunday’s for a roast. The only thing I would say is sides can be expensive! My son only eats Yorkshire puddings (fussy eater) and it costs me £5 just for 2 ! I’m never willing to get anymore as they should be at least £1 each! £2.50 for one Yorkshire is a bit expensive! Specially when they **** in batch and would be at least 25p plussss

Great little inn with a lovely country vibe. The food was fantastic great value for money. Amazing steak for £19.50 I mean amazing, would have happily paid £35 for the steak. Unique batter on the fish chips which tasted gorgeous the fish was so fresh. Rooms are great, Nespresso machine which makes amazing coffee, dyson fan, nice character in the room all the standard amenities. Definitely will be coming back. Thank you to Emma Harvey for making my time here great,

On arrival we thought room looked well presented and tidy. We checked menu and decided to have dinner here. My choice of smoked fishcakes had been taken off menu so I opted for fish pie.A big mistake! It didn't look very apppetising. There was hardly any fish in it and a couple of tough prawns in a bland sauce.and mostly mash potato. We opted for a mini dessert and that was poor too. Extremely disappointed with the food as the restaurant wasn't busy and it didn't meet our expectations compared to our rooms.

The hotel is situated in a pleasant small village. We had an overnight stay and we were booked into a ground floor room. The weather was very hot and much later in the day there was a thunderstorm which resulted in the kitchen being flooded. The bar area was closed early and food was only served to residents. The food was good. The staff were very helpful and dealt well with the situation. I felt that the room wasn’t very clean and the bathroom/shower area needed updating and a thorough deep clean. The curtains to the window were black with damp and mould possibly as a result from the window not being able to shut properly. I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again. View menu

Went for a late drink and a catch up with a friend after work 9ish beginning of the week to have a nice evening. Not so. The place was empty but we thought that's fine, but the nearer 10 it got the more uncomfortable we felt. First the background music was turned of. Then the t.v. that was on was turned off. Apart from sweep round our feet and turning the lights off.i think u get it. We understood it was quiet but we thought the place opened till 11. Anyway we left .I think by the time we got to our cars the pub was in darkness. I think this place has rooms too. I'd say stock up or get your drinks early. Or visiting don't after 9ish as your not welcome. Ruined our night. Shan't be coming bac...

Several coworkers I traveled to Curridge for business and stayed at the Bunk Inn (10 15 SEP 2023 . This location was recommended to us by some of our compatriots who 'd been there previously. On my trip, none of my coworkers had EVER been to England before and certainly hadn 't stayed in anyplace like this what a great experience! We absolutely loved the whole place: the wonderfully friendly staff (to include the folks in the Kitchen ; great locally sourced Food corresopndingly local Beer; clean quaint Rooms; etc. Thanks for the memories! All in all, I/we couldn 't have asked for a better place to stay. I shall certainly do so if I am fortunate to visit the area again in the future. Keep up...

Came here with my husband after a fantastic time earlier in the year but the night was a disaster. Food was well below par so we tried to inform who we thought was in charge too no effect. We were challenged with an answer that no one else had complained. At this point i left as my husband waited for an apology that never arrived. The bunk is always classed as a special treat as the cost is a tad higher than most pub restaurants but usally its money well spent. Not this time however . We stopped coming over a year ago but thought that beginning of the year they had turned a corner obviously not. we have tried for a response if nothing at all but it seems to have been swept under the carpet.... Decided to take the family to the Bunk for Sunday roast as we have always had really great meals there. Well....we walked into a dark, unattended, silent pub and stood around. We were shown to our table. Ordered drinks, My Ale was warm and flat, asked for a replacement, no problem there. We ordered three Sunday roasts, two beef and a pork, and a tomato pasta for the little one Meals arrived, food was warm, my pork was tough and chewy, crackling was soft, HUGE carrots undercooked, overcooked cauliflower and packet gravy. The beef, although well cooked and what little meat there was, was tender, the majority was fat. The additional ordered cauliflower cheese was over cooked, and the cheese sau...

The rooms looked very nice and at first felt cost in the day. Later on I tried my TV to chill out and watch something and had issues getting it to do anything just a blank screen with noise coming out. Figured out that the controller batteries were probably an issue so went to the front to ask for replacements. The guy asked around and said they had none. If that was me I would have tried sort this as soon as possible. The food was dreadful and very expensive. My Mum had an over cooked fish dish (rubber) and smash on top (nearly £20) and manky looking cabbage. Dad's pork chop looked weird with more gravy than food and his beer was warm. Must admit my steak was alright but it's hard to enjoy...

"Or family had the pleasure of dining at Lebanese House yesterday (Saturday 7th January) for an evening meal, we were incredibly impressed by everything they had to offer. The restaurant is in a nice location in Newbury, it has nice views of the Weavers Walk courtyard and the restaurant itself looks classy and it appears to have been decorated with love. There is a large menu, so large in fact, my partner and I really struggled to choose so we decided to go for the set menu for two. All of the food was really excellent, all the meat was cooked to perfection and had a lovely smoky taste. We particularly liked the lamb chops and the kofta. The skewered chicken was also very good. The falafels were absolutely amazing, I could have eaten an entire plate of them, definitely the best we have ever tasted. The houmous was also brilliant, it went so well with all the lovely food, and the staff even brought out some extra bread for us to mop it all up with. We had a few cocktails which were made to perfection by the staff, I particularly liked my Zombie, I’d defiantly have that again. Their house wine was also very good. Then to the staff, every person that served us was excellent, we felt very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them, we were even complimented on our dress sense, which I thought was very nice. This was some of the best service that we have had at a restaurant, especially from the lovely Susanne and Kila (really sorry if I got either of those names wrong, I didn’t write them down immediately, and I’d had a few by the time we left so may not have remembered correctly). They were both so nice and attentive and made us feel like VIP’s for our entire visit, they deserve recognition for their commitment to great customer service. Susanne even came out and took a photo of is all together which was very thoughtful. To sum up, excellent restaurant, brilliant food and drinks and an amazing staff team, highly recommend."
