"meanwhile through a busy week, I decided to be a little bit cheeky by jumping off the work for a few hours. a quick text to my friend and a finished customer meet later, I was on the way to a lazy lunch. we heard the buzz over the recently reworked white swan at chancery lane. herr flavour and I were once regular and could not wait to see the new version. Unfortunately for him he was gone on the business and let the ladies explore in his absentness. this former irrigation hole was historically a popular hot spot of the fleet street pressebrigade before it turned into a posh pub and dining room. now again opened as pub and cophouse, the natives are already in the waiting line to come. at the entrance were the delicious aromen from the dining room to sue us up. rule number one of the lazy lunches dictates, however, that a frecher g t has to be consumed before eating in a sleepy manner. gin is something that the white **** has in full! our sophisticated bartender led us to a Hendrick ginn, served long and chilled with a gurkenband. this is the point! the new chophouse theme was certainly well received. past are the white tablecloths and wallpapers, replaced by trendy exposed bricks and deep wooden tables. this beautiful room is available for private rental and would be a great place to impress your friends or colleagues. the menu consists of pub favorites, cuts from British finest meat and fresh fish from south coast day boats and British fishing ports. if mr. flavor had been here, he would have made a beeenstock for the 45-day white park sirloin with béarnaise and large chips. we believed a little easier. the salt baked celeriac, blue monday cheese and kale salat with chestnuts was divine and flavored with a beautiful earthy seasonality. my friend ordered iron age ‘Pick and Brunch’, pickles and English senf, which came in the form of a terrine. I could not resist helping me to a greedy unhappiness. the albarinho was certainly a suitable partner for following the fishing nets. fluffy fishcake with fertile tomatenrelish were mouth-watery crunchy and bursting with terribleness. I had never ordered gurnard before and his fleshy texture was beautifully complemented with braided fennel. the big chips were absolutely crushed and let us dessert without room. as much as I enjoy a girly lunch, it is time like this when I miss my pretty man and his inexorable appetit. a quick espresso later I was moved back to the office with an earlyling in my step and a very satisfied little bit. I cannot expect to introduce my customers into this wonderful new venue, which is available for 7 days in the week."

"my place of stay here in london offers me easy access to three practical stations. these are victoria, pimlico and westminster. Nevertheless, I find myself ventilated and then try some of the local cuisine here. time out london was so generous to mark the contrary as “a gastronomic desert, ridden with soulless chains and not much more”. that is not completely untrue. Chalkboard menus, friendly staff and community wood tables immediately recommend pimlico fresh is different. I found a seat (it is packed) and contemplated the options. I have swallowed the green eggs and speck on toast option (for about £7). they go a little bit nuts on cherry tomato, but the plate is a very happy. a good smush of avocado, perfectly roasted eggs and speck. with the correct amount of Runny-Yolk under a stream of pesto. the ratio of strokes to brot is very appealing. a little salt and pfeffer helped to finish the aromen and I was a more satisfied place."

"The pre-theater set menu at this restaurant was very good, but unfortunately, our friend arrived at 6:32 and was told it was no longer available. Instead, he had to order a la carte, which resulted in him only getting a soup before going elsewhere for a sandwich. It would have been more profitable for the restaurant to offer the set menu. This was not a good customer experience and hopefully they will improve in the future."

"I reserved The Snug at The Barley Mow for a client lunch event, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. We started with canapés and then moved on to the feasting menu, which was excellent. The highlights included the delicious bread with creamy butter, the vegan shepherd's pie, and the tender chicken. Despite feeling full, we couldn't resist the incredible sticky toffee pudding and somehow found room for it. Our clients provided overwhelmingly positive feedback about the whole experience. A huge thank you to our main host, Belle, who was incredibly friendly and accommodating. It would be great if they offered to reserve a space in the bar for those who book The Snug and want to keep the festivities going, but we managed to find a nice corner to continue the celebration. Thanks to everyone; we’ll definitely be back!"

"Lovely pub with good atmosphere and prompt friendly service. The food was disappointing though even though we ordered from the more expensive main menu. The fish pie was bland and contained mostly air and very little fish. The sausages were dry and tasted as though they had been cooked earlier and then microwaved. The barbecue sauce that was supposed to be on the Hunter's Chicken was a blended tin of tomatoes and the chicken salad was over-powered by raw onion. Great real ale though so would go again for a drink but not to eat."

"We had a wonderful New Year's Eve meal at this restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely, with a Peaky Blinders theme. The food was delicious - I had a chicken and chorizo burger with salad and chips, while my boyfriend had fish and chips. The only downside was that it took a bit long to order dessert because the staff was busy with large tables. When we finally got our dessert, we had a vanilla cheesecake which we enjoyed, and some profiteroles which were not as good because they lacked cream in the center. Despite this, we always enjoy dining here and will definitely be back."

"Only a 15 minute drive from my house now l know where to go for outstanding food. Both myself and my wife were astounded with how delicious the food was. It was nice to have time between courses where we didn't feel rushed unlike some other restaurants that we've been to. We will be bringing family and friends there to dine whenever possible."

"I did have an issue with the parking, as the lot is managed by an ANPR camera. You have to input your license plate to get four hours of free parking, but they don't provide a receipt as proof. This is concerning because if I get a payment demand in the mail, I won't have any evidence to show that I properly registered. ANPR companies have a reputation for being troublesome, which was frustrating, and I wouldn't have chosen this place if I had known about this system ahead of time. Vegetarian options: Fair selection Dietary restrictions: Limited gluten-free options Parking: ANPR controlled"

"visited for Sunday dinner today with our dog. very happy with the communication that was received after online booking, personally and fulfilling our needs. the greeting at the arrival (a few minutes before the official opening) was warm and welcoming. the service was still great during the meal and eating was really good, fast and hot. Obviously real dog lovers and we will definitely be back. Thank you."

"After receiving confirmation from OpenTable with the code 822102241, my wife and I arrived at the restaurant last night at 7:20. Despite our reservation, we were told we did not have a booking. After refusing to sit at a coffee table in the lounge, the manager was able to find us a table in the restaurant and offered us a complimentary drink to salvage the situation. However, our troubles did not end there. When we ordered the beef, we were not asked how we wanted it cooked and had to send it back because it was too rare. Our dessert took 30 minutes to arrive, prompting us to ask the staff if there was an issue. Finally, my wife had to ask for a glass of wine 15 minutes after initially requesting it. Despite some minor issues, we were still charged an additional 10% for the lackluster service. We have been patrons of this restaurant for over 20 years, both as a couple and in larger groups. However, after last night's experience, we are unlikely to return. In recent years, there have been new establishments in the area that offer comparable or even superior service. Last night's service at the restaurant was truly disappointing for what should have been a special occasion."

"It’s 1.30pm and we have booked a table at the Tivoli we walk in through the front door to an empty room. Surely Sunday lunch should be busy. We look through to the dining area to see a couple of tables occupied but are worried why it’s so quiet. We order drinks at the bar and the server is charming. The place is spotless and the bar well stocked. Then we are shown to our table and order Sunday lunches priced at £17 per head with extra for cauli cheese and then all becomes clear when the meals arrive . They are mean so mean my meat consisted of 1.5 slices of pork 3 roast potatoes. 1 carrot 1 parsnip and a spear of broccoli. All tasty and served hot but just not enough. They bag the pork out with a Yorkshire pudding and 4 minutes after delivery it all over. We then retreat to the garden to find the staff eating bowl of potatoes etc etc and I decide something is very much amiss here"

"We visited today, after previously visiting before, I have to say I was a little disappointed that the menu was majority fish especially with the starters Im not a big fish eater! There was very little option for non fish lovers as a starter except gazpacho soup. Before we even were seated we were kept waiting for 10 minutes to be sat down as a table was making 4 different payments in front of us. When we did eventually sit down the table was incredibly sticky, and despite being asked to be cleaned it needed a deeper clean than that. Food was fairly good, bit disappointed with the chicken burger and the roast the staff were helpful though. You could definitely tell they were short staffed."

"The pub was busy and I did expect that as its the Christmas period and I really liked the interior the pub, made me feel very cosy. The staffs were lovely and did inform us that there will be 30 45 minutes delay as they were busy. My starters were great but the main course was of a poor quality. I ordered the fish and chips and it was not made very well. Both the fish and the chips were not drained well from the oil as they were quite greasy on my plate and bits of oil residue were left of the plate too I know they are fried in oil but I would have expected them to pat or drain the oil a little before plating it up). The chips didn't have that crisp outer shell that I was expecting and was quite soggy. The fish's batter was not crispy and very thick like a mushed up bread and very soggy too. The fish wasn't seasoned as well as I had to add salt and pepper to it continuously. I was very hungry but I couldn't finish it as the batter was too thick and I felt like I was eating the oil doughy batter rather than the fish itself. For £13 worth of fish and chips, I was expecting better."

"Considering your post what a shame that your manager chose to shame my girlfriend and I on a recent visit for a meal because we are exempt from wearing masks. On two occasions we told staff we were exempt and had it shouted across the establishment that we need to have a mask on as we waited to be seated. Also then for a member of staff to ask us to wait whilst they ask their manager if we are able to be allowed in. Upon being seated the manager, who I have to add has been great on previous recent visits and always welcoming and friendly, then came over and again asked why we didn 't have masks on and that we needed letters as PROOF and that anyone can claim to be exempt . This was done with zero discretion and in front of other customers. There is no legal obligation to provide proof and that is on the official government website, my girlfriend checked this after the manager walked away. We both felt totally embarrassed to have been asked further in front of other customers and to have to be told we have to provide proof of our exemption. The dealing of the whole situation was disgusting and to be spoken to in such a manner for having an exemption. My girlfriend felt we should have said something after the meal but we chose not to. I fully understand this year is a testing time for everyone and especially the hospitality trade at the moment with curfews also but of all days please show some understanding and awareness that people have good reason to be exempt from wearing a mask and beyond a visible reason. I just hope you are more welcome to future customers regarding the wearing of masks and don 't choose to belittle and shame them in front of other customers. There are several reasons for being exempt of wearing a mask, one being them causing distress and anxiety, with relevance to today and your post, so I hope you can please show more understanding in future."

"It was my first visit, and I only had time for a couple of pints. The interior features a charming blend of old and new, with the cozy nooks and crannies of a historic building complemented by modern furnishings. I chatted with the landlord, whom I assumed he was, and he was very knowledgeable about the products they offer. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the chance to dine there, but I would definitely consider it in the future. My overall impression is that it’s a well-managed pub, navigating the challenges that many pubs face today."

"My son and partner are going to Australia for a long time . Without considering the quality of The Grapes purely because over the last 40 years , it’s been high standard I booked a farewell dinner I am so disappointed, the Sunday Roast was not a Sunday Roast , When you needed a drink , the bar people were non existent ! The new management took a while to realise I would like to put some money in the till ! The toilet had doors broken off , the place is so run down and tired . I’m gutted such an amazing Icon pub in Formby has been left to rot! The food cost £17 per head and was disgusting I’m so sorry to complain but it’s the worse quality, I have ever had in my life"

"My son and I had been to the National History Museum and then a long walk through Hyde Park. We were hot and tired and just looking for a pub for a quick long drink. We saw the Portman, commented on how attractive it was and went inside. The interior was a cool, calm haven we didn't plan it but we each ordered a cocktail (beautifully made) and then seeing the menu decided to take lunch there. I had the Lincolnshire Poacher tart with Fennel salad which was delicious, my son had the beef and roquefort sandwich it was very good indeed. The barman was friendly and attentive making us very comfortable genuinely interested in our experience. When I return to London I will be eating at the Portman again."

"We usually have a great experience at the Queen's Head, but during our recent visit, we faced some issues. We ordered the lamb shank with chips, but the vegetables were cold, and my friend's lamb was quite chilly as well. While they did replace the meal with something warmer, the lamb was supposed to be infused with mint and rosemary. However, the actual flavor lacked any hint of mint or rosemary. When we brought this to their attention, they mentioned that it was garnished with mint and rosemary, but we didn’t find those flavors at all. They did not offer mint sauce as a remedy. We paid £2.00 extra for each lamb meal, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. Perhaps they didn’t have the right seasoning ready, but we should have been informed about it when we placed our order."

"I visited on Friday evening and had a wonderful experience. The ambiance is delightful, and despite the crowd, there were still plenty of nice tables available both outside and inside. I would love to return on a warm summer evening to relax by the river. I ordered a cheeseburger with bacon and onion rings for my friend, and I chose nachos for myself. Considering how busy it was, the food arrived surprisingly quickly and was absolutely delicious. Inside, there is a table with three water tanks and lots of clean glasses for customers to help themselves. It also appears to be a dog-friendly venue. I had a fantastic time and will definitely go back. A bonus is the garden heating lamps and ample sheltered tables outside, making it a great spot regardless of the weather!"
