"If you're a serious curry connoisseur, New Haweli is a must. I've had a usual go-to for years now, but after a slightly disappointing visit there recently, we mixed it up and was very impressed. "I absolutely love the classic Sunday roast at this restaurant. I usually order the beef, which is cooked to a perfect pink. The gravy is rich, hearty, and not overly salty, and they serve a lovely portion of sweet, cheesy cauliflower as well as crispy bratkartoffeln. The Yorkshire puddings are among the best I’ve ever had. The desserts are generous too, and one of my favorites is the apple crumble. A meal here always leaves me feeling warm and satisfied! In the winter, the atmosphere is very cozy with open fireplaces and comfortable sofas scattered throughout the room. It’s a fantastic local spot with friendly service."

"Took my wife with kids for her 50th birthday party after the place has been refurbished. My wife and I had starters and asked for our kids meals to come at the same time. Both kids ordered sausages and mash one asked for no gravy and the other asked could it be in a separate dish just in case she did not like it. The waiter assured us it came separate. Two meals came one had the gravy poured all over it, that is not served separate as asked for and confirmed by the waiter. So my daughter had to wait for the right meal to come. Allowing for the fact they were kids meal to serve only one sausage is ridiculously mean. The waiter later explained he made a mistake when taking the order so we accepted it as he was a nice guy. I had carrot and coriander soup. It was tasty and a fair portion. My wife had whipped goats cheese and it was an embarrassing portion. Absolutely tiny amount of goats cheese. We then waited circa 50 mins for our mains to come. I had the fig roast, which was very tasty but the sprouts weren’t cooked. My wife had the sea bass fillets which again was nice but the potatoes were not properly cooked. Deserts were nice and tasty. Overall okay but they must do much better. We never put quantity over quality but the portions were just too miserable, the service slow and the chef should not send out vegetables not cooked properly especially when you wait so long for your main course. Won’t rush back"

"After 10 year absence from the restaurant due to shoddy service historically ,we booked to attend the Minnow on mothers day at 5pm. Realising they would be busy, we turned up at 10 to 5. We were told our table was occupied and the people there were paying the bill. 30 minutes later and despite requests for another table, the staff had still not freed up the table and we were forced to leave as our children were absolutely starving with no food in sight. If you allow a booking please allow adequate time so families with young children like us are treated correctly. No apology, no courtesy and definitely no return from us."

"We have only ever grabbed coffee pastry from here before therefore we were keen to try the food. Unfortunately it fell shot of expectations and we were quite disappointed, as both the service and standard of food were average at best. We ordered the spaghetti with meatballs, which not only was in not spaghetti (linguine I think), the meatballs were under cooked and it lacked flavor. We also ordered a lasagna which was okay, but it had basically just been thrown on the plate with no garnish or presentation. Shame as we love the deli however we would be reluctant to eat here again. Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4"

"Nothing thrilling at all the are better restaurants at this price point. Starters arrived in about 20 mins, our drinks after 40 mins, reason was there were groups of other ppl ordering drinks and I guess they considered them move important. When I made the booking that my wife is pregnant and it’s her birthday. There was no effort made on this point throughout the entire visit. My chicken ballotine was dry as was my wife’s chicken milanese. I came here years back when it was good and busy. Now it’s lame tired and under staffed. Save your money and go elsewhere like the Brooks restaurant or the Victoria, both are close by and will be much better in food and service. "Beening poorly I have no appetite, Thought I will try something new delivery was good. The food is amazing .One thing I think the foil container mine was in muat have had a whole in it because all the sauce was I the plastic bag. Having said that it didn't take away any of the wonderful flavour. My husband had a different meal to me both were delicious. Will definitely be ordering again"

"I went here for my birthday with a couple of friends. My friends brought cupcakes for me and asked the waitress if she could bring it out after we had eaten. She agreed and wished me a happy birthday, as did all the other staff in the restaurant when they brought us our food! The food was so delicious, and afterwards the staff played happy birthday on the speakers and brought out the cupcakes with candles! All the staff were super kind and attentive, we even had a few complimentary maki, I imagine as a birthday gift! I had a very special birthday celebration as well as amazing sushi and would definitely come back :"

"My wife and I had a delightful dining experience at Broadwater for our first evening meal. The lobby/bar area was nicely decorated for Christmas, and the spacious and elegant dining room was not too busy but a bit cold. However, the attentive staff and delicious food warmed us up quickly. We enjoyed a tasty soup and crusty bread starter, followed by a nicely portioned and beautifully presented monkfish main course. My wife opted for the fresh and filling mushroom risotto, and we both indulged in the peanut butter brulee for dessert. The staff were professional and discreet. The only slight downfalls were that the dry white wine could have been better chilled and slightly more competitively priced. Despite this, it did not detract from our overall enjoyment of the meal. After this first visit, we will definitely be back and would happily recommend Broadwater to our friends and colleagues."

"Really disappointing. No ale on tap and poor bottled choice and a very, very limited menu of burger, burger or burger, not ideal if you don't want a burger! They were accommodating and did a chicken salad for me which was fine but did cost £17! I appreciate that they are opening limited hours but don't want wastage, but a less fried option would have been nice. The worst bit though was the table of blokes with a kid who got louder and louder and more offensive as the evening went on and the staff did nothing. At one point a fight nearly kicked off which was when we left! Won't be going back anytime soon."

"A significant lack of communication from the kitchen to the house. The king shrimps I had were not detoxified during the prep and were served in a crazy fusion of chili in a white wine garlic butter consommé, which just tasted strangely. The cheesecake base on the menu so dense that you could not eat it and should be served with coconut ice cream, but it came with vanilla. No coconut left obvious and no explanation made before the order. The huge chips I had with my fillet steak were not cooked enough. And my piece of fillet (both cooked blue on request) was not the largest of steaks. A very overpriced place to eat for the missing Lustre food and service it delivered. We took the uneaten desserts out of the account, almost as if they did us a favor. I wouldn't recommend it or go back there. I don't care to pay these prices if the basics are correctly executed (food service)."
