"Wir (2 Erw., 1 Kind) bekamen ein lauschiges Plätzchen im Garten. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Das Essen war richtig lecker. Wir haben ein neues Lieblingslokal in Winterthur gefunden!Je nachdem, für wieviel Personen ein Tisch benötigt wird, bekommt man auch 2 Wochen vorher keinen Tisch mehr!"

"Apart from the tiny portions, the food was served with a lot of dedication. Each course has space on a coffee plate. The alarm bells started ringing for me right from the start when the sentence came, in our case we leave the restaurant feeling full but not overcrowded..... Oh dear, I thought. To be honest, when I go out to eat, I don't want to go to the fridge afterwards. However, you can always order a supplement, which saved me from starvation. It's just not my style to curtsy as a supplicant for a little more food. Don't think everyone does this because they're ashamed. In terms of taste, I found all the dishes very tasty, although not amazing. Somehow nouvelle cuisine reinterpreted. Meat and vegetables cooked perfectly, really very fine. In my opinion, the descriptions of the preparation and origin of the dishes at the table are too much and seem a bit artificial. In terms of price, that's a challenge. A bottle of affordable white wine costs around 60 to 100 francs, well. Together with the meal around 300 francs I think it's too much. But just. It was no different in Switzerland in the 80s. We simply pay too much in Switzerland. Still, I think there are few restaurants that celebrate food with such dedication. If the portions were a little larger, I would try it again. But only when I have some money in reserve again. The whole thing took too long and got on my nerves. I want to eat and not talk to the person I'm talking to for hours. We spent almost 3 hours in the restaurant. Deduction for price and quantity otherwise recommended. The concept seems to be working. Is always well booked. "Zum 2. Mal haben wir hier gegessen und kommen eher nicht mehr. Pizza und Pasta waren o.k. Das Cordon-bleu zwar riesig und frisch gefüllt aber nicht mit den bestellten Zutaten. Der grosse Salatteller bestand aus drei ! Salatblättern, einer halben Tomate, 4 Scheibchen Gurke und etwas Mais, Randen und Karotten aus der Dose oder dem Beutel! Die Egliknusperli wohl schon länger im Tiefkühler gelagert und zu Tode frittiert. Der Besitzer ist zwar bemüht freundlich muss aber fast alles selbst machen- Service,Rechnungen,Bestellungen und Telefon. Der Koch hatte wohl gerade unser "Testessen" gekocht und besprach am Nachbartisch die Anstellungsbedingungen. Die Serviceangestellte war wohl auch den ersten Tag da und verstand meine Rufe nach Salz nicht- also holte ich es selbst."

"Ich liebe die Pizza von Toni. Genau richtige Teigbodendicke, sehr feine Zutaten, super Käse und die scharfe Sosse dazu ist genial. Wenn ich in Frauenfeld länger arbeiten muss, ist eine Pizza von Toni ein MUSS. Meiner Meinung nach ist die Qualität um Welten besser wie bei anderen Pizza Kurieren und auch Pizza Restaurants."

"Wir kennen das Barbarossa und sind/waren eigentlich begeisterte Gäste. Bis gestern. Aufgrund Corona wurden die Tische umgestellt und uns wurde ein kleiner Tisch in der Ecke zugewiesen. Beim Hinsetzen habe ich mir den Hinterkopf derart an einem Steinsockel in der Wand gestossen, dass mir schwarz wurde und heftige Schmerzen waren (und sind) die Folgen. Das Personal hat das Unglück mitbekommen, hat sich aber überhaupt nicht darum gekümmert ... Das Wunschmenü war dann leider nicht mehr verfügbar. Die gewählte Alternative Kartoffelgnocci an Spinat und Butter war geschmacklich in Ordnung, aber extrem fettig. Insgesamt war das Essen (auch die Pizza meines Gegenübers) ok aber der Service ausgesprochen unaufmerksam: Wir mussten Wein und Wasser selber nachschenken, nach dem Kopf wurde kein einziges Mal gefragt und sogar die offene Restauranttür mussten wir selber schliessen, weil es ungemütlich kalt wurde. Ein komischer Abend mit dem Fazit: Wenn der Chef nicht da ist und zum Rechten schaut, herrscht Schlendrian und Gleichgültigkeit. Schade, sehr schade ...."

"We were there for the first time. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. When we were able to order drinks and crepes after waiting 10 minutes, we had to wait 20 minutes. "Heute waren wir zu zweit zum Mittagessen in der Sonne. Ein wunderschönes Restaurant mit Holzdecke und rustikaler Einrichtung im 1. Stock. Eine sehr freundliche Servicemitarbeiterin empfing uns und führte uns an einen schönen Tisch am Fenster. Zum Menü wurde eine feine Nudel- Gemüsesuppe mit Fleisch gereicht. Ein ganzer Topf wurde uns auf den Tisch gestellt. Die Suppe war herrlich. Dann folgte aus der Tageskarte eine wunderbare Rösti mit Rindfleisch. Der Wein wurde am Tisch geöffnet und dann 2 DL davon ausgeschenkt. Service und Essen top, rundum perfekt!"

"Warm, open atmosphere, somewhat cramped seating. Very friendly and courteous service, but also very busy everything is fine, but there is no taste explosion with the food. Food presented very nicely, but only ok in terms of taste. The starters Vitello Tonnato and Fritto Misto were a good start and both were tasty. But the main course Paillard Di Manzo the beef was completely cooked and cold, the Mediterranean seasoning and grilled flavor were well balanced, but meat was not skillfully fried. The Risotto alla Zafferano was very nicely presented, also chunky, a bit too firm to the bite, but we lacked the right balance here saffron and salt. The tiramisu at the end was good and simple, but again not a high flyer, just a normal tiramisu without love and pep. "Ein vollzügliches Restaurant! Ich bin noch nie bei einem Besuch enttäuscht worden. Jedoch sollte man beachten, falls man vorhat drei Gänge zu essen, es etwas länger dauern kann. Sie machen alles wunderschön frisch und daher kann es ein bisschen mehr Zeit in Anspruch nehmen. Der Besitzer ist auch sehr gesellig und spendiert am Ende oftmals einen Limoncello. Da das Restaurant nicht extrem gross ist, hat er auch ab und zu Zeit sich mit seinen Gästen zu unterhalten. Super Essen, tolles Ambiente und ein exzelenter Sevice. Weiter so!"

"I came to cheat while I had made a job in a nearby workshop or there is no possibility that I would have happened over it. but wow, what a beautiful place and good eating. first, it is an attractive and welcoming ambiente in the interior. it was about the Saturday afternoon I was there, but all several external tables were occupied (without external heating) which was the first note on a good place. one of the specials has been described as English sweetcake. to be English, that didn't jump on me, but I ordered it and it was absolutely delicious. a traditional british pie has crimped the baked into a thicker crust around the edges, but this cake was a light circular lid of baked on the vegetables in a pot that got the whole taste, but not too heavy. the spice and the cooking of the sweet and baked were actually all perfect. I would definitely visit for dinner. tasty eating, friendly and welcoming ambiente and nice staff when this swinging fusion is, they count me in"

We ordered mix Momo plates and I be honest the meat one is ok but others like cheese and veggie are not tasty, they are very dry inside and very salty . The Momo sauces especially the Chilli one don’t have any taste . It’s like water and Chilli powder mixed together. Ps. since the owner answered my 2 star rating without comments , here I am writing a depth review of our experience during our Visit. "Als Ersatz für den gepflegten Restaurant Besuch haben wir uns für das Valentins/Love Menu für zwei (als Take Away entschieden. Das Abholen zur vereinbarten Zeit hat bestens geklappt, das 'Menu ' war sauber in einer Kartonbox verpackt. Zu Hause dann, das Staunen, es war alles dabei was zu einem tollen Menu gehört: der Gruss aus der Küche (Ahi Thuna im Sesam Mantel mit Wakame Algensalat , die Vorspeise (Salatbouquet mit Granatapfel, Baumnüssen und Roquefort ,die Hauptspeise (Gefüllt Perlhuhnbrust mit Steinpilzen, Kartoffelgratin, Saisongemüse und ein Dessert (Gâteau Moêlleux au Chocolat . Auch für den Kaffee wurden noch kleine Süssigkeiten beigelegt. Dazu eine Flasche Prosecco. Die beiliegende Menukarte beinhaltete auch die Anleitungen für die Zubereitung der verschiedenen Speisen (Wärmen im Backofen oder im Wärmebad etc. so quasi die Gelinggarantie. Das Essen war hervorragend, wir konnten keinen Unterschied feststellen zu Speisen die im Restaurant direkt auf den Tisch kommen. Die Portionen waren sehr grosszügig bemessen es reichte noch für ein Mittagessen im Home Office; Angesichts der Qualität und der Anzahl der Gänge war der Preis absolut gerechtfertigt. Wir waren schlicht begeistert und werden das Angebot auch weiter nutzen."
