"During our stay at the local Premier Inn, we were not impressed by the appearance of the Brewers Fayre restaurant. However, after a short 10-minute walk with the help of a local, we discovered a wonderful pub. It had a welcoming atmosphere and felt like a true community pub. After enjoying a drink, we informed the owner that we would like to return for dinner that evening. She promptly reserved a table for us without hesitation. We had a fantastic evening with delicious food and a selection of real ales and quality red wine. If you are searching for a great spot for food and drinks, this pub could be the perfect choice. We commend everyone involved, including the friendly clientele who added to the overall ambiance of the place."

"I've been extremely frustrated with the cafe scene here in the UK for a while now. Having travelled to numerous countries, I've gotten used to a high quality cafe experience, and the same ol' chocolate brownie carrot cake croissant offering of extremely limited imagination always lets me down. So this year I decided I was going to go off the beaten track and look for original, individual cafes with unique menus. Having scoured the net for suggestions, my daughter and I made our way to Pantry one Saturday morning. First impressions: small interior and a bland decor. No problem. We're here for the food. So we sat down, and were immediately disappointed upon seeing the menu. They'd removed the one thing I was really looking forward to trying, the shakshuka. And their selection of dessert was minimal (and included the drudgery of the dreaded chocolate brownie). Anyway, we ordered what was a very expensive breakfast (sourdough bread with avocados and micros more micros than anything else on the plate) and not very filling. The coffee was fairly average, wouldnt order it again. What was really good was the pear and almond cake, lovely and moist and creamy. Hence the two stars: one for the cake, and the other for a pleasant and friendly waitress. Having tried it, I wont be going back there again. I dont mind paying the high prices for food that is absolutely worth it, but not for mediocrity dressed up with micros."

"During my visit to town, I decided to dine at this restaurant. I arrived a little later than the lunch rush on a Saturday and was seated promptly. The waitress handed me the menu and brought me a beer list since it was my first time there. I opted for the Fat Joe's Amber Lager, which was good but not outstanding. For my meal, I chose to Build Your Own Burger since none of the specialty options caught my eye. I ordered a beef burger cooked to medium perfection, topped with American cheese, bacon, and a medium-cooked egg. I opted for chips as a side, although I regret not choosing fries instead. The food arrived as requested, but I did have to ask for another beer as the waitress did not check in while I was eating. Despite my unfamiliarity with downtown FDL, I ended up parking about three blocks away, which was probably a good thing after indulging in such a filling meal."

"We stopped for lunch at this restaurant during our circular walk in Princes Risborough on the Mayday Bank Holiday Monday. It's not a day that the restaurant usually serves food, so we were grateful for the 3 hot main options available on the menu that day. The setting was pleasant, with friendly staff and a nice community atmosphere. However, it seemed like the landlady was cooking alone and it took a while for all of us to be served. I chose the more expensive chilli con carne, which was tasty but the portion was smaller compared to the cheaper panini options. Despite this, the meal was still enjoyable and probably better for my high cholesterol issues."

"This was our first visit to dine at this lovely village pub, as visiting relatives. They arranged for a family meal here. What a great place!! Lovely atmosphere and warm greetings on entry. Very friendly staff. Thank you Lucy for your attentive customer service throughout our meal. We were promptly seated and handed menus. Great choice for both adults and children. Didn’t have to wait long for our food to come. What a feast for the eyes. !!!!! Our food was delicious from burgers to duck, prawns to steak! An amazing feast!! maybe thats why it was nicely busy on a mid week visit during the day. We will definitely be visiting again. A must to go to if in the area. Oh yes. Currently food and drinks midweek are greatly discounted by 30%!!!!! Amazing for a small village pub.!!!!"

"Appalling. Been coming here for years, since before Covid. When Covid hit, I thought, support the small business. Bad mistake. I’ve been bringing me friends here for years, it was our catch up spot. The manager (he has glasses, you’ll know who he is) is awful. Speaks rudely to you even though you’re a PAYING customer. Forgets food, made me wait over an hour then realised he didn’t even put my order through. I’ve been nothing but patient with them, but the way the owner treats people is disgusting. I’ve bought so many people here and all I get is the worst attitude. Rather give your money to big businesses and get a good service than be treated like garbage here. Appalling. Also, they’re always out of jacket potato apparently."

"We love the Crooked Billet, and visit very frequently all year round. This is why: 1. It is a pub obviously deeply loved by its Landlord and Landlady who have been in residence for over 30 years. 2. The garden is spectacular (and award winning! always full of colourful bedding plants. Perfect on a sunny day, with covered areas when needed. 3. The inside is warm and inviting, with lovely old English traditional decor. It feels very snug in the winter with the log burner on. 4. The staff are great, very helpful and always make us (and our dog feel very welcome. Your dog will instantly love it as they will likely be offered biscuits by the Landlord!! 5. The food is great, and excellent value. There is a noticeable difference in how much less you spend to feed the family at the Crooked!! There is an excellent variety of traditional pub fare (served lunchtimes only on offer. My favourites from the Monday to Saturday include the Billet Burger and Gammon…and on Sundays, the roast dinner. Booking highly recommended as I see walk ins often disappointed to find it fully booked!!! 6. If you like traditional deserts, this is the place…great size, and amazing value!! 7. There is a nice selection of wines and beers (including the traditional ales Timmy Taylors and Youngs . 8. Just by the pub is a public footpath leading into lovely woods, with various trails where there is a good chance of seeing deer and other wildlife. Some of the paths are circular bringing you back in 30 mins to an hour. In particular (not on a map one route at the top brings you out onto a permissive path (owner allows access leading along the outside of the woods with outstanding views of Thames Valley….you then dip back into the woods at the end and can circle back….one of our favourites!! Enjoy!!!"

"We were regular customers at The Mowchak, on and off, for 5 years but over 3 years ago now we retired to another part of the country. Recently however we were back in High Wycombe and so took the opportunity to return to The Mowchak at Downley and can confirm that the food remains excellent and that the service there remains attentive and comes always with a smile. "This review is for Carol's Kitchen which is attached to the pub, not the pub itself. Amazingly thoughtful and kind staff! While there is no specific GF menu, staff knows exactly what Celiac is and what is safe and what isn't. I ordered a jacket potato and the very kind waitress knew that packaged pats of butter would be safer for me. A bit later the wonderful cook popped her head out to let me know that her granddaughter has Celiac so she was extra careful with my food. It was so kind and thoughtful of her to do that! These two wonderful women made my day! We were in for lunch, so I am not sure about the dinner menu, but I do know the staff will be amazing breakfast, lunch, and dinner!"

"I recently visited Marmaris Kebab Pizza Burger shop, and I must say, I was blown away by the amazing service and food. "Absolutely disgraceful. We went in for a late breakfast as we usually love their food. We asked for poached eggs on toast that was stated explicitly on their menu we also asked for a big breakfast and mushrooms on toast. After ordering, a member of staff said they couldn 't do poached eggs but could do any other way. We challenged this because they had eggs so why could they not do poached? Whilst waiting for him to speak to the chef, we also ordered the breakfast and mushrooms on toast. We waited for half an hour, watching a table with more people that came in after us get all their food before ours came. When the staff member came back, he said they no longer do poached eggs as it 's an old menu they have not yet updated false advertising at it 's finest. After arguing about that for 5 minutes we then asked where the other food we ordered was, he replied saying he hadn 't yet ordered it even though we said we still wanted that. We told him we were outraged that we had been waiting so long and he responded with a bunch of rude and patronising comments telling us there 's no need to write a bad review, my friend before handing us the bill for the drinks without any discount or compensation for our troubles and saying well thank you for joining us . Awful service and awfully handled. Will not be returning. If we could give a minus review, we would."

"The staff are kind and very attentive. I also really liked the food; we got the small sharing plates for the whole table which were good value for money and delicious! I was very happy with my experience. The food and drinks were very fairly priced. In addition, the pub is very clean and pristine and the toilets are very well cleaned and looked after. I also really enjoyed the music playing; they have a great playlist of songs that they don't play at other similar establishments. It's not all just generic chart music which I appreciated as a music nerd! I will definitely be returning."

"Have been in this branch half a dozen times and only ever 1 problem. Not so this time. Menu cut down in size. Burger bun burnt, burger drier than the sahara, chips all end bits and tasteless. Came on a tin foil plate with bit of coloured paper on top. Sea food linguine, had to look hard to see the seafood. Back to serving Bills Cider , which I would rate as bad as Strongbow, Magners. What happened to Aspalls. Now adding service charge. Definitely last visit ever to any of their branches. Such a pity as had so many good meals here and Reading/Westfield London"

"The food was exquisite and the chef needs to be recognised more in these reviews: she was incredible! However, the service not so. If the delay in serving the food is due to the chef making a culinary masterpiece, we didn't mind. However, when the sauce to my meal was literally dumped down beside my finished food plate without a sincere apology, that's down to the waiting staff. Drink orders were honoured swiftly, but our waitress appeared to be wholeheartedly disinterested in our satisfaction and more interested in just getting the job done (even once rolling her eyes at us as I dared to change my mind within seconds and also abruptly correcting my husbands pronunciation of a dish!! So in total: Incredible food, fabulous selection of food and wine, prices exceptionally reasonable for area (and the exquisite food!! Super atmosphere, service awful"

"The restaurant was very busy for a weekday, so we had to wait outside for a table to become available. I decided to order the full vegan breakfast, which was described on the menu as "peri peri oyster mushrooms, spring onion chipotle waffle, grilled peppers, smashed avocado, charred sweetcorn, vegan aioli coriander w/ chipotle and roast tomato salsa". However, when my dish arrived, all of the ingredients were mixed together in a tomato sauce on top of a dry waffle, which was disappointing. I was hoping to taste each component individually, but the tomato salsa overwhelmed everything. Additionally, the juice I ordered was tasty but seemed small for the price of £6."

"This was my first time visiting the bull and butcher with my husband and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I tired out the lamb and mint shortcrust pie and it exceeded all expectations. My husband also had the steak and ale pie and he hasn’t stopped going on about it since !!! We cant wait to revisit and we will definitely have to bring some of our friends. We were served by a lovely young lady I believe her name was Daisy. She was very polite, extremely helpful when helping us with menu choices and was also very knowledgeable on the pubs history. "I buy a house in marlow and decided to give this place a try. I have eaten several paintings in the hand and flowers over the years and even the big ones met a few times. I decided to give this as Tuesday dinner. to make an attempt. it was empty, so sat at the bar. It was very confusing when four different people tried to be my waitress/wacherin and to fall over themselves with repeated questions. I ordered a great joy of crying. then I put my job for burger and fries, which the waiter asked if this was all, and I said yes, I saved myself for the banans dessert. then he began to persuade me to buy more items and take them away to eat bizarre tonight, but I ignored! the burger came in a “wrapper” all very mcdonalds takeaway on a tablet. I asked for ketchup and salt. the burger was nice and the chips good, but the bungalow was very, very soggy. the waiter asked how it was, and I just asked if the wrap is part of the cooking process when I was seized why the bungalow was not roasted? then he went on to explain how the wrapper is amazing to keep the heat in and went on to educate me as he takes the burger away and to his house in reading after the work and they are still hot! I am in a restaurant that has a belonging to michelin and a child lecturing me on takeaway food he gets free or on a discount! service was terrible and I stayed hanging for 15 minutes after my plate was deleted and finally the attention someone to order the banana cheesecake and coffee. what came was a one-way cup with cheesecake cream, biscuit and dried bananas on! I rejected it and asked for the bill. the managerin was extremely rude and with em and I went out that the experience was a total sweat. I later called by phone to discuss the above mentioned and ended with the same miserable woman who showed me to my chair and was rude with the bill. essentially there is a reason why this place seems to be empty when so many other places were bought in marlow city center on Tuesday. I will not waste my time at this place again, I was made to feel very involuntary and eating is filthy. I think it will soon be closed and reopened with a new concept because this does not deliver."
