"During our stay at the local Premier Inn, we were not impressed by the appearance of the Brewers Fayre restaurant. However, after a short 10-minute walk with the help of a local, we discovered a wonderful pub. It had a welcoming atmosphere and felt like a true community pub. After enjoying a drink, we informed the owner that we would like to return for dinner that evening. She promptly reserved a table for us without hesitation. We had a fantastic evening with delicious food and a selection of real ales and quality red wine. If you are searching for a great spot for food and drinks, this pub could be the perfect choice. We commend everyone involved, including the friendly clientele who added to the overall ambiance of the place."

I had a great time and the service was outstanding due to Sarah's attention to detail. The food was on time and done correctly and so were the drinks.

Work just around the corner and never been. Wish I'd found this place sooner! Home made burgers looked good. I had a fish finger sandwich which was fine...

Arrived to find a typed note stuck to the main door giving the entry code and saying that the key to the room was on the chair in the main reception, anyone could therefore enter the premises and the room....SECURITY!! Not a person in sight!

We went for Sunday lunch and had a lovely meal. Generous portions of meat, vegetables and the roast potatoes were (nearly) as good as my own. Gravy served separately, which I prefer. The service was quick and we didn't have to wait long for our meal. Unfortunately I couldn't manage a dessert but those that came out of the kitchen looked delicious, and they have two new lagers on tap, Rebellion and Fullers, so they went down well also. Highly recommended.

We don 't like to go to the usual chain of food establishments and found this one after checking reviews. It 's very old fashioned in a good way as so many pubs have their identity striped away. We went early evening and tried the gammom and chips served also with egg. The food was cooked fresh, served piping hot, the portion size very generous and was less than £8. I don 't know how they do it. The only negative was that the pub dogs would occasionally 'paw ' your leg for something from your plate. Needless to say we didn 't oblige. Apart from that it was a positive visit.
