"Went for lunch with a friend, I have never seen such a beautiful garden ever, better than going to Chelsea flower show!! Very warm welcome by the landlord and land lady that have owned the pub for 37 years, all the staff were very helpful and friendly, the landlord chatted to everyone making them feel very welcome, the food was proper English food, not enough pubs sell that these days!!! My scampi was amazing and my friend had the tuna sandwich in lovely billet style bread which was like bread used to taste. Everything on the menu is under £10, such good value for money, lovely selection of bitters and lagers, wine and soft drinks too. Inside the pub it is very English and has so much 16th century charm. This pub is a must visit pub as it’s a little English Gem that you don’t see very often these days run buy owners that truly love their little pub."

I have lived in the Maidenhead area for over 40 years but had never been to this pub before. The garden is very picturesque and they offer an extensive lunch menu (no dinner service from what I remember). The landlord and his wife were very polite and accommodating. The beer was good and the service was excellent.

Always a warm welcome at this wonderful pub. Today we went for Sunday lunch perfectly cooked large helping of roast pork with all the trimmings for just £11. The gardens are stunning and the landlord and landlady always friendly and have a treat for our dog. The perfect venue to stop off on a local walk. Highly recommend!

8th july lunch. Stunning garden. One way system for in/out pub. Inside glass screens between tables. Screen around bar between staff and customers. Staff wearing gloves Hand cleaner at entrance. Very good food, staff polite and all care taken. Customer tracking system taking names and contact. Table booking required. Highly recommended.

I heard about this restaurant from recommendations for their Sunday lunch. The staff were friendly and welcoming, but unfortunately, we were not impressed with the roast. It lacked flavor and was of poor quality. We tried adding salt and pepper to enhance the taste, but it was still bland. It's a shame because the setting of the restaurant is beautiful.

We booked lunch here to celebrate my parents wedding anniversary. The staff were extremely welcoming,. The food and beer and ambience were excellent and the gardens are stunning with an array of blooms. A traditional pub where you are treated as individuals, not just ‘another party of guests’. Impeccable customer service. Highly recommend, we will definitely return.

I visited a charming pub with a lovely garden. The place was clean and well-maintained. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I tried the brie ploughmans and it was delicious. The portion size was just right, not overly large like some pub meals. I also had room for dessert and tried the bread butter pudding and treacle sponge with custard, both of which were absolutely delicious and made fresh on the premises. Kudos to the chef! Overall, it was a very enjoyable visit and I will definitely be returning.
