"I had a great time at this restaurant. The atmosphere was fantastic, the service was excellent, and they had a wonderful variety of American whiskies. I found the prices to be very reasonable, especially considering the location. The only downside was the food, which was still quite good, but not perfect. It arrived unusually quickly after ordering, with some of the meat tasting dry and the corn muffin also being a bit dry. The BBQ overall was tasty and good, so I would still recommend this restaurant to others, although I have had better BBQ elsewhere."

"Absolutely love this pub, we have just bought a lodge in the area and luckily found this gem. We eat here for Sunday lunch and cannot fault it. The food is cooked to perfection with a good selection of meat snd vegetables. The staff are all lovely and nothing to much trouble. I totally recommend this pub."

"Walked in and heard conversations of moans and groans due to shortage of staff. Waiter said 4 adults and 2 children. Those children were 19 and 21. I said all adults unfortunately we are very short! Ordered mains, food not very hot and then they said no ice cream as machine broken. We asked for coffee and they said sorry machine has been switched off!!!! It was only 8:45pm They then brought the bill to us without asking and obviously wanted us to leave. If they had explained the resturant was closing early due to shortage of staff we could of decided to stay or go elsewhere. It would of been our decision."

"Terrible options for gluten free meals. No indication on the menu we were given a tablet and had to scroll through ourselves trying to work out what our two coeliacs could eat ! Most options were only GF because they would leave out items if the meals rather than replace with a GF option ! ie no GF bread, rolls, pasta on offer at all !!! So the burgers just came up as a burger with no roll ! The halloumi salad was drenched in so much dressing it was soggy and overpower any flavour, the fish cakes were Luke warm and tasteless, the rice tasteless and dry, the chicken wrap was requested plain and came up with mayonnaise and tomatoe sauce on it, so had to be remade. A chain this big should have it’s allergens catered for and have info on a menu rather than leaving it to the customer to read up all the individual ingredients of each meal to work out what they can eat. Won’t be returning !"

"The food was decent, but the service was extremely slow. It took quite some time for our order to be taken, and it took an unreasonably long time for our meals to be served. We also had to remind the staff three times about our drinks, which took 20 minutes to arrive after we placed our order. Overall, it took us 2.5 hours to enjoy a two-course meal."

"I am sorry to say that the restaurant was quite cold, with most customers keeping their coats on. When my son ordered the sirloin steak cooked medium, it arrived pink or even red. Although it was replaced, it still came out too rare for our liking, so we decided not to bring it up again. However, I should mention that the waitress was kind enough to deduct the cost of the soft drinks from our bill."

"Lovely welcome and waitress very smiley and willing to please. Food pretty disappointing though. Starters/tapas low quality, highly breaded deep fat fried and pretty tasteless so totally overpriced. This was true for the chicken strips, calamari, hallumi chips and mushrooms. The nachos were the only decent plate. Main courses were not too bad although chips/fries were all over seasoned and very salty. Ribs well cooked but chicken undercooked. Burgers seemed ok. We did not have desserts."

"Our table was in a lovely position; service was very slow although our server was very polite. My burger came with bacon, which I had asked to be removed. My friend’s jacket potato was very burnt and goodness knows where the vegetables came from they looked as though they came from the swill bin. When we told the server about this she shrugged her shoulders. We said we wouldn’t be back and she actually said that she didn’t blame us!"

"We were seated and the drinks order taken, I ordered 2 refillable soft drinks and some alcoholic drinks. When the rest of our party turned up about 5-10 minutes later, the same waitress came over to take more drinks orders, however we were still awaiting the drinks from the first order. Eventually the drinks turned up and the waitress took our food orders. I was the first to order in our group of 9, I ordered the bird surf and turf. The waitress asked how I would like my steak cooked and I answered. She then took my partners order of surf and turf, although she didn’t ask him how it should be cooked. A rib eye steak was ordered next and for this one the option of how it was cooked was offered. The rest of the meals were taken down and eventually they came out. Three people came over with chicken skewers, we explained we hadn’t ordered that but we were waiting for my meal. The manager came over with the skewers and I explained again that I hadn’t ordered that, but I had ordered bird surf and turf. She disappeared and came right back telling me that my order had been put through incorrectly and she could get my meal cooked but it would be about 8 minutes. I asked how that could have happened as the waitress took the order down and even asked me how I would like my steak cooked? Why would she ask me that question if I had ordered skewers? She refused to give an answer because she didn’t see the order being taken. I said fine, please cook my food. I asked her what she was going to do to make this situation better? She asked me what I wanted and I told her I WANTED to know what she was going to do to make up for the error. I also explained that not once did anyone come over and check for drinks refill and as we weren’t allowed to leave the table we couldn’t go looking for a server so refillable wasn’t really as it stated! She started to get really aggressive telling me that human error can’t be helped. I explained that I appreciated that however this was the first time in 4 years that we’ve returned to the malthouse because every meal in the past has been screwed up and it always ends up being my meal. She threw her hands in the air and said “I tell you what, let’s just call it a night! I am too tired to deal with this! I don’t need this tonight” she then turned and walked off, I said that the way she had behaved was highly inappropriate and unprofessional. She said “I don’t care, I am too tired to deal with this ****”. She made it very uncomfortable for both tables, the people still eating didn’t know whether they were supposed to stop eating or if they could finish. My sons burger was over cooked, as was the rib eye steak and the steak on my partners plate was burnt on the outside and completely raw in the middle, and the surf on his plate turned out to be three prawns!"

"we have booked online as it was bank holiday weekend, we strolled out of the premier inn and liked the view of what we saw. this little jewel was recently renovated. it was clean and welcoming. the menu fits all family needs. the personal was amazing, especially our server tanya. "we're going here at least twice a month. tonight was a birthday party and unfortunately it was eating up to its usual standard. I have Cajan chicken that was so spiced, it just tasted like salt. the kartoffel was dry as if she was on the way all day. we asked for med rarely on steaks and from 5 was just one right. we didn't complain at that time, because it would have ruined our sonish birthday parties. service was 10/10 as usual."

"the waitress was very helpful and smiling. I was disappointed with the turkey dinner of children. the truthahn himself was moist, but the yorkshire pudding was burned/overdone and none of the children liked the gravy that pampered her evening meal. I had the cranberry tips, but they had been harvested from cranberry, served so simply dry and no other sauce offered. I was also disappointed by the sunflower, which only sash icy and chocolate sauce with a wafer cone above. all the others were satisfied with their meals, but none of them wept. many times previously visited and it was not particularly busy, but probably our bad visit."

"the waitress who served our table was a bit hastened to serve other guests during our visit. After we had given our drink order, we waited long for the waitress to return to our main order. when we were able to go into the salatable, I was told that the white broth rolls had run out, I would be brought if they were out (self service is not yet allowed). the waitress was busy serving other guests, although the rolls were refilled, I had my salad to eat, so went on another waitress for a roll. there was a long waiting period between the order of our drinks and the waitress who returned to our food orders. After eating we waited for the waitress to take over our pudding orders. I had ordered a cod chips and the cod is soft and somewhat underdonated, which tasted fish as if it was used from frozen but a few more minutes. as soon as we were ready to pay the waitress brought our receipts (3 separated), but then went away serving said she will come back to the payment. finally could not wait for our taking longer into the bar patty before our departure. the restaurant was not full, so I think it was more a personal shortage than the restaurant very busy. we have booked our table for 12.30 clock and sit immediately. we're back at 2.40. we chose our courses from the 3 cursor menu."

"I enjoyed my meal at the harvesting machine. eating was very nice. I enjoyed the salatable. Unfortunately, the server was quite rude when he told me that I was too close to the person before me. the older man before me even turned around me and raised his eyebrows to me, then looked at the server and shook his head. I said I know. then he scrubbed his shoulders and sat down. I said to my friend so that the server could hear me. now it seems to be good here to be reordered due to covidence germs. does not have to get too close. However, all broth rolls will be discovered directly next to the waiting queue of people who for everyone to cough and snuck over. please cover their broth rolls or do not lay them next to a constant waiting line of men. put them somewhere else. train them also to ask customers politely to move back. not so that they feel as if they are told in school by the teacher. many thanks paula."

"So disappointed ???? every meal we have had always here enjoyed. This evening completely different. Around the salad cart was disgusting and the floor was like walking on ice...it was as if the floor had been cleaned with mayonnaise. The tomato pasta has a different sauce, not tasty. Main meal- new style chips horrible, looked raw. Chicken with BBQ sauce.... essentially squeezed sauce over, cold not good.... husbands scampi weird batter. Sons burger was tiny and the usually fantastic chicken, bacon waffle dish.... swimming in maple syrup, waffle hard, bacon unbelievably salty......it was awful. We went as a special treat as husband flying to US tomorrow and it really ruined our evening. People behind us complained about onion rings and heard new suppliers. Get back to what u do well. Staff good but food massive downfall"
