"Maaroni is my local as it is less than a 5-minute walk from me. Not only have I eaten here a countless number of times since it opened, I also get takeaways from here often. Unfortunately, this was the first time I had ever been left feeling very disappointed. To begin with, I was given a bottle of sparkling water with no glass, let alone lemon/ice/straw. Had to ask for a glass I was not going to drink out of a big bottle. It was difficult to explain things to our waitress, especially as we wanted to remove some pizza toppings and add on others; I had to show her the menu with toppings written down so that she could catch the spellings. Moreover, I requested for cacio e pepe, and the waitress confirmed that the chefs would be able to make anything off-menu. I had to explain what the dish was, and showed the waitress the list of ingredients for it. She went back and forth several times to the chef and I, and ultimately said that the kitchen did not have pecorino cheese. I said that that could be substituted for the next best thing, as long as the sauce was creamy, cheesy, buttery and peppery. When the dish arrived, it was a buttery spaghetti with a lump of cheese in the top. At this point, another waitress began to serve our table. Let her know that the cheese should be almost melted in; she took the dish back for it to be re-made which took a long time, by which point we had nearly finished our mains. After our mains we were told that we need to leave within 15 minutes, and we were not given dessert menus nor did we request the bill, it just arrived. I had brought my aunt and uncle to Macaroni for the first time and they were looking forward to dessert. It was highly embarrassing that this option was not even offered, and even more embarrassing that we were rushed off the table. There were 5 of us, 1hr 45mins is not enough time for a relaxed 3-course meal. If the restaurant is unable to honour a 3-course meal for 5 people, they should not confirm the booking."

"For Spanish speakers (my usual audience): I came with a friend and we both ordered the Shawarma Mix w Fries. First of all, clarify that this is my opinion and for others it may be different. As always I will divide this review into three parts which are Local, Service and Food. Starting with the place, it is a cozy place, the music is very pleasant to the ear, colorful decoration and a good display of the food at the counter. It must be said that the bathroom was, like every classic Kebab place, dirty like the Barcelona metro. Moving on to service, there was a very friendly and helpful waitress and one of the cooks was very attentive. On the other hand, the boy who served us when we ordered the food was quite hesitant and even seemed a bit dismissive to me. I gave it 3 stars because the others were friendly and I don't want the place to be belittled because of one person. Lastly, the food was good. I don't fully understand why they advertise Shawarma as with kebab meat, but hey, I'm not going to ask them for a master's degree because after all we are in London. The meat was still good although it lacked flavor. The salad was probably the best, you could tell it was fresh and well cut. The bread, on the other hand, was lightly toasted and this was noticeable since in the end it fell apart easily. This is painful for Durum and Shawarma lovers. The potatoes were from a bag but at least they had a good level of crunchiness and the yogurt sauce maintains a touch of mint that is pleasant at first but that I hated in the end. Despite that, I have to say that the size of the medium shawarma is enough, the large one is not necessary (coming from someone who eats a lot). In conclusion, the place is very expensive for what it is, although I understand it because at the end of the day we are in Camden, a tourist place where we are the victims. Thank you so much."

"I visited Giotto on the evening of the 21st for tea with my sister and my friend, first time visiting London we decided to book a table at this restaurant before we headed to watch Mamma Mia. We walked in and initial thoughts were all positive, greeted by staff and they showed us to a table by the bar. We ordered our food, it came and during the time which we were eating our meals we witnessed I assume the manager or supervisor unsure of her name but she had light brown hair and she was very rude to staff bossing them about and using no manners ! the way she was talking to staff was unacceptable in front of customers she clearly had a problem with one staff member I think his name was Zachary, we had no issues with the way he had served us we had great customer service by him he took our food orders. We heard her sending him home due to whatever he had done wrong I don’t think he had done anything wrong. If she had an issue with the way her staff work she should bring this up with them in the office not in front of customers, none of us enjoyed our meal and half way through my sister actually got up and told her that it was unnecessary what she was doing and she rudely advised my sister that we didn’t know the issues they were having with this staff member and that my sister was blowing it out of context. Can I just say that we never saw her in our initially visit through the door and the floor of the restaurant was running smoothly without her presence. I feel like she had no communication skills something that’s vital in a job role such as hers! We paid £100 for 3 of us and nothing was knocked off despite us telling them we weren’t happy with what had happened and that we wasted our food because of what we had witnessed."

"spectacular eating with a warm welcome. alex, our waiter, was excited to find the dishes that we 'd most happy work with a no gay group diet that cut away a good piece of the menu. Finally, he decided to create a few tailor-made plates that he hoped to wake us and they woke us! we first enjoyed a red pizza with parmesan, rocket and fresh tomatoes. the tomatoes were perfectly ripe, high quality, provide an intense burst of taste, accompanies the nutty rocket to cut through a generous part of the creamy, salty cheese. the cheese overwhelmed but not or weighed off the dish, perfectly matched the acidic, slightly peppery tomato sauce. gattusos cruste is one of the best I have experienced 'through crispy and thin on the bottom without trembling or sagging, and a delicious salty outer rim that was ultra light and crisp. our second court was an aubergine and tomaten penne. I have to confess that I usually don't go for red sose pastas, as I find the sour tomato a bit too a note. however, this pasta changed my mind; delicate aubergine paired perfectly with al dente penne, and both were made in a tasteful, earthy tomato sauce creamy by exactly the right spray of oil and milk. it was simple, bright and full of this house handmade love they feel rare when they eat. we only paid 24 pounds for a lunch with two people, concerning me. it is the type of place where they only know they are remembered and welcomed back as family. I would come back every day to contemplate, lovingly made Italian meals."
