"So stopped in to get my Caribbean fix, as I've been away from home. Now for a few months. I was welcomed by a really friendly hostess, who immediately informed me their CC machine wasn't working and could only take cash, I only came for...takeout so I placed my order with another lovely lady server, excellent service. Oh and the place was packed. I put my order in for my two beef patties and order a vx and coke (usual drink at home), of course in the UK you have to order doubles everywhere, expensive no ras for that. Shoot, my bar at home free poor rum vx and coke and a free poor is over easy. So rip off in my book, plus the Bartender thought he was the coolest thing, the guys has no idea, come to the Caribbean and you'll meet some cool and worthy bartenders. Back to the Patties, well firstly, I'm not sure we're the got fruit patty from but that isn't no Caribbean dish, us persons from the Caribbean want fish, chicken, meat and for Patty, beef! Now for and change you would expect a pretty decent size patty, not today bobo.. Two little patties about the size of my pinky finger, and microwaved hot, not fresh, of and we in the Caribbean don't have Indian curry patties! Becuase that what was given to me. Anyway, the place is busy, from what I observed its definitely not a true Caribbean restaurant, we at home wouldn't serve some of the food they had on the menu. Won't go back to get my fix, sorry such bad review, becuase the hostess and server were fantastic."

"We started with the Alkaline Nachos (£10.95), which featured nachos topped with marinated baked quinoa, fried beans, cashew cream, guacamole, pineapple salsa, and pickled red cabbage. The dish was drizzled with smoked cashew cheese. They were delightful, sweeter than any nachos I had before, and had a nice tangy twist. Next, we tried the BBQ Tacos (£9.50), which included shredded carrot in an alkaline BBQ sauce served in a crispy corn shell filled with fried beans and guacamole, along with pineapple salsa and pickled red cabbage, accompanied by a side salad. These were hands down the best BBQ tacos I've had in the north. The Thai Buddy Bowl (£10.95) was another standout dish. It featured orange teriyaki chickpea tofu, surrounded by pineapple "fried" quinoa, purple coleslaw, a Thai side salad with almond and ginger dressing, and quinoa falafels with mango chutney. The blend of flavors was incredible, and this was my favorite dish—something I could happily eat several times a week. I plan to return just for this dish! We also tried the Thai Wrap (£9.95), which contained quinoa and drippy butter falafels wrapped in a soft tortilla with mango chutney, coleslaw, and kimchi—served with a Thai side salad, almond and ginger dressing, and pineapple quinoa. The combination of ingredients in this falafel wrap was unexpected but fantastic. Once again, it was sweeter than I had anticipated. For dessert, we enjoyed the Pink Pitaya Acai Bowl (£5.50), a fruity and smooth blend with celestial blueberries, bananas, kiwi, and coconut—perfect for breakfast! It was a real power breakfast. We paired our meal with Immunity Boost Juice (£4.00 each) made from strawberry, pear, apple, and lemon juice—it was refreshing and invigorating. The Tropical Sunrise Smoothie (£4.50) blended papaya, mango, orange, banana, coconut, maple, and cashew, maintaining the unique flavors of each fruit beautifully. Lastly, we had the Peanut Butter and Jelly Smoothie (£4.50), featuring strawberries, banana, peanut butter, maple syrup, and lemon balm. It might sound odd, but it worked perfectly— the earthy peanut butter provided a lovely texture and taste that complemented the sweetness of the fruit. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that was well worth the wait."

"If what you’re after is really well made junk food that’s tasty and made from scratch on the premises, in an eco positive way then check this joint out. I spoke to the owner AJ who explained the place runs on solar power, built using recycled or reclaimed materials and using sustainable containers for its take-away service. And for every meal they serve, they plant a tree. What’s not to approve of? Everything is online ordered on your phone from a table QR code with 6 burgers, 3 kebabs, 2 bao buns, a Philly cheesesteak, a dirty dog, nachos, acai bowl, fries 5 ways, cauliflower hash browns, grilled halloumi and 19 sauces. To finish there’re 10 sweets, lots of ice cream and shop bought ice lollies. To drink 12 smoothies and an assortment of other canned shop bought drinks. The ceiling is full of faux flowers which looks really good and the back wall has a hydropod growing fresh herbs which looked a little sorry for itself! I had the ‘MAAD Vegan Chick'n Jerk’. It’s a jerk Miami chicken burger with a secret recipe coleslaw, jerk sauce on top of shredded wheat-protein vegan chicken style burger coated in a panko crumbed Southern Louisiana seasoning. It was constructed just like the picture. Not as spicy as I’d hoped but it was there and probably fine for most it seemed to have lost its jerk kick which might be due to the coleslaw and the ‘to die for’ Louisiana sauce which ensured the burger was moist and delicious without being too sloppy. I also had a side of ‘MAAD Piri Piri Fries’ fries with their signature MAAD Peri Peri powder on. It was peri peri but nothing exceptional. However, dunked in their home made spicy mayo sauce, they got the kick they deserved. To accompany the meal I had the ‘Greens Pineapple Smoothie’. Fresh and delicious, it also packed a serious nutritional punch, combining mineral-rich kale with banana, pineapple, kale, lime, avocado, ginger and moringa low on fat and big on flavour. All in all, I left there at 3pm, stuffed and never needed to eat again for the rest of the day. Would I go back yeah, if I wanted filling junk food. Defo on the way back from the pub after a few pints. Would I recommend yeah, for sure. If there’s one thing to avoid do not ask to use the loo! It’s out back and not for the faint hearted trust me, find somewhere else. Updated from previous review on 2022-05-20"
