"The portion sizes are quite decent and offer good value for the price. I did find the naan a bit small, but that’s a minor detail. I would love to see a Tandoori option on the menu, though I understand that local preferences might not lean towards Tandoori dishes. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, giving me a nostalgic feeling reminiscent of India. The music is soothing and enhances the dining experience without being intrusive. "Overall comments: This place was part of our Anonymous dinner rota. We were quite happy during eating and on the day, but the next few days were rough as 3/4 of us were ill. I wouldn’t go again even though the food tasted nice. Go at your own risk as it is good value for money if you can stomach food made in an unclean environment. My order was as follows: Starter(s): Veg Samosa, Hara Kebab, Aloo Tikki Chaat, Chicken Tikka, Side(s): Plain Naan. Food: All the dishes were good and I thought we found a gem. However, 3 of the 4 of us were ill for a few days after. Atmosphere: Music was at a varying loudness. The Seating was not comfy at all. The interior was decent but nothing special. Service: Service was poor. We had to ask for water multiple times and the waiter assigned to our table just didn’t want to listen to us when we asked for things or tried to get his attention. The other waiter was very good when we asked him for assistance. The food arrived at a good speed to the table. Cost: Mid-range and only worth it if your stomach can handle food made in a bad environment."

"My partner and I visited here on a date night tonight. Situated within the Great Western Hotel by St David's train station. I have eaten in many Indian restaurants over the years, in both Exeter and the West Midlands where I am originally from. Being a Chef myself, I love to make my own curries both at home and as specials in the place I work. Because of this, I can be hard to please when it comes to dining out for a curry. Sadly, a lot of places in Exeter don't live up to what I had hoped for, compared to so many of the amazing Indian restaurants in the Midlands, but Karma is not only an exception, but an absolute gem! Fantastic service and the flavours, spices and aromas from the food are simply divine! I had the Lamb Karahi Gosht with Mushroom Rice, my partner had the Chicken Dhansak with Garlic Rice and we shared Garlic and Coriander Naan breads. Sometimes I have had Lamb curries where the Lamb has either been undercooked and chewy or overcooked and dry. I am pleased to say the Lamb here is cooked to perfection! My partner said her Chicken was also cooked perfectly. Both dishes were labelled as medium and were just that. As a fan of Indian food for many years, I have to say if you are in Exeter (I'm lucky, I live here) and you are looking for top notch Indian cuisine then you need to visit this place. Wonderful service, excellent food and very reasonably priced compared to other places closer to the city centre. Well worth a visit and we will be returning again soon!"

"I popped in here as one does occasionally with family on Thursday 24th October 2019 just after midday. It is an unassuming place, looking like your typical local café, located on the corner as one half of a building which also consists of the Bon Bon Newsagents and Store next door. Firstly, this is not a disabled friendly building. Nothing here that is disabled compliant, however you can get a walker and a wheelchair up the step and through the two doors with assistance. It is also possible to put a walker (as long as they fold up) behind a seat while having a table, so 2 people with such would need a 4-seater. It is also possible to put 1 wheelchair in place of 1 seat at the main table (from a straight line from the entrance past the counter) facing the back of the café with moving the table behind. Provided the café is not packed and again with assistance. The owners are very good in respect of providing assistance and help where possible. Note also the furniture is basic, just tables and chairs. There is no inside toilet but one cubicle accessible outside via the back door. It can and often does get very packed as popular with locals, visitors, local workmen, lots of people. Access between tables can be narrow and one orders at the Counter, your order sans drinks is brought over. Why do I recommend going here? Never judge a book by it’s cover. Mistakenly passing on this place as just another greasy spoon is a tragedy. The secret is what its kitchen can do! Cooked Breakfasts, several set menus and a 7-item choice breakfast. Choice burgers, such as Cheeseburger Quarter pounders with all trimmings and Chips. The Specials board is a gem. Among others such as Faggots and Cottage Pie, when available are Roast Dinners. Such as I had today and one of the best you can get at any price. 3 vegetables, carrots, garden peas and cabbage with crisp Roast Potatoes usually in a giant Yorkshire Pudding (if not, like today a normal sized one). The Roast Beef is perfect and plenty of it, perfectly Roasted and melt in the mouth. A decent Coffee and Tea is served and Soft Drink Cans available from the fridge near the counter. Some menu dishes include tea or coffee. Some are also available like the Burgers to takeaway. In the evening after it closes in the Afternoon at around 2pm, it transforms in Al’s Tikka Grill, an authentic Indian Restaurant to reopen from 5pm. So, if want one of the best café’s around and it is nicely situated opposite Ashton Park. Staff are pleasant and I note a TV is on showing Sky Sports usually albeit no sound. I find the place nicely decorated with a mixture of local Bristol decor and Indian décor. The place is kept very clean which is always a good sign. You like any of the food mentioned, do visit and try their food! Better than several local, more expensive and more up market establishments, after all that is why you go out to eat isn’t it. Highly recommended by me!"

"I recently visited The Loading restaurant and ordered roti with chana curry. I also tried jalebi, methi parota, and rose milk shaker. The restaurant is well-maintained and serves authentic vegetarian dishes. The samosas are freshly fried right in front of us, which is a highlight. They offer a variety of Indian sweets and snacks at a reasonable price (though could be slightly cheaper) and of good quality. I recommend giving them a try when you visit Soho Street."

"Ordered one meal for one person for £9 and one meal that was advertised for two to three people at £16. The meal for one had more meat than the larger meal which was basically a Tupperware full of rice. Really disappointed. Also it’s just dawned on me that if all their food is cold and has an option of being heated at an extra cost it’s not freshly cooked and we have no idea how long it’s been in the fridge. "out in birmingham for a business trip so decided to take a spit of vegan friendly restaurant visits, this was the first place on the list for us. great location, easy to find and great parking possibility. the personal was friendly, helpful and laughing (we have tried our best with speech, but to be honest, our efforts are laughing. the menu easily showed the vegan options under vegetarian meals, much to choose. my partner and I ordered two curries, two ildi (odd combination with the meal I will admit, but I always wanted to try to share them and two roti between us. the curries were the mixed herbal daal and a mais and cashew curry. the mixed veg was too spicy for my partner, but perfectly delicious for me, so that was good. the aromen were sensational, and my partner agreed, but mine was just at the top level of his tolerance. the idli were fab and the roti were fresh and not greasy. I would like to visit if I were back in the opposite!"
