"We made a reservation for 7:30 pm and ordered drinks before placing our meal orders. We were extremely disappointed by how long it took for our meals to be served - a 45-minute wait. As we waited, we saw other customers arriving and quickly receiving their meals. We should have left instead of just sitting there. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone unless you enjoy waiting for a long time. In response to their feedback on how they can improve, my suggestion would be to either shut down or hire a new chef."

"Felt like we 'd been mugged!. We went to Cafe Mode last Saturday afternoon and had a starter and a couple of burgers. Starter of Doughballs was okay, but noting great. We had two gourmet burgers for mains. Burgers were overcooked and nothing special. The french fries were okay. To look at the menu we were expecting a bill of around £28, through various crafty additions, £3 for the bottle of water on the table, extra £2 for goats cheese on a burger which came with cheese etc plus a manditory service charge) they had upped it to £43. "The service at this restaurant could definitely use some improvement, especially considering how empty it was. I was disappointed to find out that my favorite meal, pies, was no longer being served because the menu will be changing in April. "I've come back after many years thinking things have changed, but boy was I wrong. I ordered children's steak burger meal and a chicken wrap on its own. After eating at the time it didn't seem bad I quite enjoyed it, on way back home my 3 year old suddenly threw up by the time I got home a few hours later I started getting belly aches I went toilet and had diarrhoea straight after after that I vomited. Before I came here to eat I was absolutely fine .. health and safety need to close this place ASAP. I would not recommend this place to anyone. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!"

"we parked right behind the high road, from there was a short walk through abbey mews to the caffe. the parking space is only cash and no app support to pay. the caffe itself is beautiful a very “serious” feeling when they first enter, they are presented with the cake display, which looks great! wait for them to sit on place (release also available) the personal is warm and friendly, they all smiled when we visited. the menu is great, a set of choices for gluten-free and vegan oriented. it is a spacious and comfortable caffe with some beautiful furniture. I had the turbulent latte with milk of the pasture, which was very good, the tab and the green lasagne. it smelled nice and tasted even better than that! I also chose the Mocha Piee and the apple and same folding jacket, both very tasty. because of this experience I would recommend a visit if they are in the city."

"Went to Barru with my wife and two adult grand children who we hadn't seen for some time. The food and staff were both excellent. The volume of the music was a different matter. For the size of the venue it was far too loud. Although my wife was sitting next to me, I just couldn't hear what she was saying to me. The same applied to my grand children with me. The suggestion from Barru was to come at a time when the music is not on. I am sorry but I like to go to a restaurant when I want to go not because there is not any music playing. I will not be visiting this restaurant any more as much as I like the food and staff."

"I recently visited this restaurant in California and I have to say, it was the best food I have ever tasted in my life! The mixed meat grill and baklava were incredibly delicious. The meat was tender and juicy, with flavors that were indescribable. The whole meal was an experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. The dessert, especially the baklava, was out of this world. Even though I'm not usually a fan of baklava, this dish converted me - it was the best dessert I've ever had. The hummus was fresh and the bread was soft. The employees were kind and attentive, making our dining experience even better. I told my partner that we need to come here at least once a month because the food was that amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant and believe they deserve 3 Michelin stars."

"Unfortunately for these guys the appalling service let it down. We had a booking at 2pm and couldn’t get to the table until 2:20 because people were already on it. Our first waitress disappeared after the start of taking our orders and never came back, then a second waitress eventually took over to sort the orders. The food was heavily delayed coming to the table. Bearing in mind our table was booked for 2pm we didn’t get food until 4:20 At no point did any staff come to us to offer an explanation about what was happening, only after we enquired a waitress came to tell us that the kitchen was heavily delayed because it was busy. It wasn’t handled well and we did not receive any small snack dishes just to keep us going. We had a small child who was hungry and cranky at this point so they gave us his as it was ready. The rest of the meals came out 20mins later and you could tell some of them had sat on a hot plate for ages because of the dried gravy around the edges. Apart from this the food was lovely. It’s a massive shame that the terrible service and appalling organisation between the kitchen and service staff ruined this day out for us all. Would not recommended after this experience. Also just to add we were given a free drink each for the trouble. Not really much considering how terrible the service was"
