"We had a reservation for 4 people on a Saturday evening. Since we arrived early, we decided to grab a coffee at the bar located on the ground floor, opposite the reception desk. The restaurant itself is on the first floor and we immediately noticed that it was quite empty. It seemed like the hotel guests were venturing out to other dining options in Knightsbridge, which has no shortage of restaurants. The restaurant has an open plan layout with suitable decor and lighting for a cozy and intimate evening. It became apparent that they were short-staffed that night, which resulted in a slight delay in the service. However, the staff were pleasant and attentive.
For starters, we ordered Squid in salt and pepper and chicken dumplings. Both dishes were tasty, with the squid cooked perfectly. The sauce accompanying the chicken dumplings was a bit too salty and vinegary, but the dumplings themselves were good.
For the main course, we had Chicken with ginger and spring onion, sweet and sour pork, prawns in black bean sauce, and egg fried rice. All the dishes were flavorful, with perfectly cooked prawns and tender chicken.
For dessert, we tried the apple tart and Sago pudding with chilled mango pieces in a light mango sauce. They were both delicious and capped off a pleasant evening. We didn't feel rushed at all and ended up staying for quite a while after our meal. Overall, we had a lovely and peaceful evening and will definitely return to this restaurant in the future."
