"Visited today with family, 6 of us all together. We ordered a mixture of foods and drinks. We were served by a lovely young lady for drinks. The food was absolutely amazing. The two female chefs cooked all the food to an amazing standard. The small open kitchen is lovely. All Of our plates were clean when we finished eating. We then had two desserts of Milky Bar Cheesecake and again they didn’t disappoint us. The chefs have only just started in this pub and we were unable to find any fault with the food, drinks and service. They will be starting doing Sunday roasts as of next weekend, so we are looking forward to going back very soon."

"Got deliveroo, so may be different in the food court. Ordered hainanese chicken rice (a Singaporean hawker favourite), roti canai and sambal. The roti canai was great, potentially 50p or £1 too expensive but still great. Definitely order this. The hainanese chicken was mixed the sauce had great flavours. The chicken tasted nice but there wasn't enough meat if I compare it to $3sgd 5 hawker dishes I'd say they often have double the meat. At £9 I think there could be more meat, and less rice. For £9 it would also be a nice to have the usual accompaniments of Soy sauce, chilli sauce etc pots. Perhaps you get these if you eat in.Finally the sambal. This had some nice flavours, perhaps needed to be kicked up a notch on the spice front and probably reduced to about £1.5 or £2 max given the size of the pot. It's £2.80 on Deliveroo but 1.80 in store it seems. Perhaps an error? All in all, good enough that I'll be trying the laksa and Nasi Goreng soon!Edit: I think many of the prices on deliveroo are higher, probably the cater for the margins deliveroo take. Probably better to go and collect!"

"The food at this restaurant is enjoyable, but it is definitely overpriced and not worth the high prices they charge. The young waiter was very kind, polite, and helpful. However, the older man, who seemed to be the owner or manager, was extremely rude to the young waiter on multiple occasions in front of customers. This was disrespectful and embarrassing for the waiter, and should be addressed. Additionally, a service charge was added to the bill along with other items, so we would have been happy to leave a tip instead."

"Ordered three dishes. Got prawn crackers as a freebie. Very nice. Thanks. Two of four things that didn't go straight into the bin. Chicken chow mien is hard to screw up. Fine in this instance. Three stars out of five. Almost tasteless because too little...salt. Two other dishes went straight in the bin. Spicy stir fried beef. Full of sugar like a beef churro with too much salt. Can you imagine? Couldn't eat it. Two orders of Hot and sour soup. Also went into the bin, not the sink. Too thick. I could eat the soup with a fork. Surely something wrong there. Also way too salty and dessert-sweet. Awful. My first time at Ho-Ho. Never going there again. Quite surprised at the overwhelmingly positive ratings."

"The restaurant looks beautiful from the outside and has an inviting interior. Initial impressions were good as it was busy (and had lots of Chinese guests which I took as a sign the food would be good) which was very encouraging on a Tuesday night. The initial drinks service was incredibly slow. I had to request drinks three times as we were well into our starters before they arrived. The servers ranged from unfriendly, to rude and seemed to give certain tables preferential treatment. The weak customer service made it a slightly uncomfortable experience and it was hard work getting more drinks, sauces, the table cleared etc. The food itself (and I eat in a lot of Chinese restaurants) ranged from below average or very poor. The barbecue ribs were fatty and disgusting in a horrible sauce and the crab and sweetcorn soup was scalding hot, bland and contained very little crab or sweetcorn. The rice was clumpy and overcooked and the sweet and sour pork really poor… huge clumps of fatty pork… I actually had to spit some of it out and left most of it. Very disappointing as had high hopes. We will not be returning and will be recommending that friends and family give it a miss."

"There were many options available and the owner was patient in letting me take my time to decide on what to order. Ordered sweet and sour chicken rice £6) from the special offer set menu. It was v filling and even had some bits of egg in the rice! Quite an authentic version of the dish and it reminded me of home Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Sweet Sour Chicken with Egg Fried Rice"

"After a series of events we ended up early evening at a post marriage party in the wonderful characterful Pullens Centre in Crampton Street and by 9ish everybody needed food so we set off on a trail round the neighbourhood in search of a stack of pizzas or Indian veggie food. After a bit of a dispiriting trek we stumbled upon this place just short of the railway bridge and roundabout and after a short negotiation they agreed to provide us with two large platters of bhajis and pakora for £80. We returned to the party but true to their word within 30 minutes , having jogged down the streets two friendly guys arrived with piping hot snacks and keep the party pot boiling. Great service. Perhaps we should have gone earlier and bought three times as much!"

"After all the nightmare of the pandemic, we wanted to still celebrate our anniversary without getting involved with crowds of people. We decided to visit the Lakeview Palace (yes, palace' NOT place, see photo attached). Despite this little gem being on our doorstep we...have never been before, but we will definitely go again. Having consulted the menu we decided to have a full dinner here to mark the occasion and ordered the gammon steak. We both had a more than generous plate of gammon, chips, egg, pineapple and peas. Actually, they did run out of peas so my Husband had mushrooms and I went without despite a jovial conversation with the chef who tried to persuade me to pick between a vast choice of substitutes for the peas. There was far too much for either of us to finish but it was all very enjoyable. My Husband chose a large slice of fruit cake for dessert and I picked a giant chocolate cookie. Both of which we brought home being too full to eat them. We had a milkshake each, which brought the cost up to around Very reasonable for the amount and quality of food. We used the toilets which were very clean. It was a lovely sunny day and the cafe was very popular but with plenty of seating. Many people were obviously regulars which is always a good sign."

"Bought a takeaway from here through Just Eat, but I couldn’t rate it on there for some reason. Never had any food from here before, and I was really pleased with the food. The Wagu burger was really nice, and there were plenty of sweet potato fries. Delivery was super speedy too! I would order again, and I would recommend. Service: Delivery Meal type: Dinner"

"DISGUSTING PLACE Bad restaurant, bad experience Firstly I must mention to you that my friends and I, we like trying new cuisines flavours, we go out for food at least twice a month and we usually don't pay over 20-25e per person. I must also declare to you that we don't have strange willing on food. We decided to go to this restaurant We ordered some food like pork braised(no taste mediocre food) dumplings (4/10) as per drinks lemonade and bubble tea,the drinks started to come when I noticed that the waitress drinks from my tea ,I ask her why she drinks from it then she get quiet I proceeded to ask for a replacement when she gets irritated my partner was horrified seeing what was happening,we decided to stay as our food was coming and after a long day we were hungry,we pay when we saw the bill we were not satisfied with the service and food, and we decided to not pay for service charge 5£ when the waitress lady got angry and she kept asking if we are sure for cancellation is like they force u to pay ,(please check your bill as u have the right to cancel service charges)and we cancelled as the whole thing was a bad experience,I’ll suggest going to Mc Donald’s instead of this horrible place the whole place is a mess the kitchen is near by the toilet where u can see how the food is made which is not in a hygienic environment so dirty plus seeing the chef preparing the food on the floor in a dirty pot disgusting this place should not exist STAY HEALTHY AND DONT BE FOOLED BY ALL THESE ,,GOOD REVIEWS “"

"I found that little gem on Google maps by accident to be honest and noticed the 4.9 rating which made me very curious. As I love all Asian cuisine I didn't even hesitate to give it a try. When I called to ask many questions I spoke to a very nice lady who didn't rush me at all. She informed me (what is very important for newcomers to know that they have slots for collection, my understanding was that they do not just take walk-ins (certainly not on busy nights like Friday and Saturday so make sure you call beforehand and book the slot. I absolutely loved Pad Thai, I'm pretty sure it was the best I've eaten! Massaman curry was great too Unfortunately I wasn't that big on red curry in terms of flavour (don't mean the fact it was extremely spicy as I did request it willingly . I'm gonna try green curry next time but I'm sure at least 1 Pad Thai will always be on my order. There's a good parking lot behind the building which is free if charge after 6pm (exactly the time when they open . We'll be coming back regularly as flavours are great, prices are very reasonable and on top of it customer service is brilliant"

"Food is tasty, although the price isn't.... £3.70 for a spam and egg sandwich!!! Do not understand how this is justified when other sandwich shops charge atleast £1.50 less for the same thing! Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: £1–10 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3"

"Let me start off by saying the food here is stunning. One of the best curry's I've ever had. That said for 2 glasses of rola cola, 2 curry's and 2 sides costing best part of £60 it'd wanna be amazing. The staff were very friendly and attentive until, we came to pay the bill. The business is listed on the dine card club, which you have to apply for and pay for yet refused to honour the discount when presented with the offer. Once this took place the staff became quite hostile, like we'd cause trouble over a £10 offer. I politely paid the bill and left no questions asked. It's a shame I'd of been a regular customer based on the food quality but the other parts of the experience were poor at best. Amazing food, not worth the money. Go to The New Bell in Great Barr the foods better and literally half the price. Staff are lovely and the pop is fizzy and tasty. Jeera could be amazing but is missing the mark."

"We booked the teppanyaki for my son’s birthday as it’s something he’s always wanted to try. The chef was great fun and the food was all fresh and tasty. The scallops were tiny but tasty. It was £40 per person which is really expensive for what you actually get the portions are tiny and we were still hungry when we got home. Drinks were also expensive we had 7 bottled beers, 2 colas and a hot sake. Our bill for five of us came to £290. I don’t regret going as it was a fun experience, we all enjoyed it and the food was fresh and tasty but I couldn’t justify returning at that price for essentially a few tapas size portions of food. For £40 you get Small bowl miso soup One scallop Two tiger prawns A table spoon size portion of teriyaki chicken A piece of steak the size of a mars bar Few fried cabbage leaves A small cup of egg fried rice One pancake with single scoop of ice cream Coffee or tea"

"I was so excited to try this place as it had great reviews. I really wanted to give it 5/5 (because the food is out of this world and was absolutely amazing the best takeaway we’ve had) however my decision was sadly based on the customer service I received as soon as I walked through the door. The lady was very unwelcoming and looked at me as tho why she coming in this late (20:15) and food preparation finishes at 20:30 which is fine. She never gave me a warm welcome. I have never been here before and asked for recommendations which I got a blank look at and one word answer. Sharp, unhappy and abrupt which I found disheartening. Such lovely food tho and throughly enjoyed it. Just first impressions were sadly disappointing."

"Decent food for a fair price! Went there with no expectations, except for having authentic food, which was fulfilled. The staff was friendly and helpful, and even recommended dishes according to what we were hungry for. He even pointed out that things could taste different to our westernized taste buds (too salty/ too spicy/ etc). They also offer take away (most restaurants in Chinatown don't."

"I want to begin this review by praising the delicious soup and sandwiches served at this establishment. Since moving to the West End six months ago, my friends and I have frequented this place for lunch on several occasions. However, as mentioned in previous reviews, the service can be slow and at times lacking in attention. During a recent visit with three friends, we found the staff more focused on chatting amongst themselves rather than attending to customers. While it is great to see a cohesive team, it should not come at the expense of customer service. Despite having excellent food, if the delivery and service do not meet the same standard, customers will choose to go elsewhere. This issue falls on the management and their apparent lack of concern for the customer experience. The ongoing negative reviews only serve to highlight this failure, which has not been addressed. Unfortunately, our orders were not correct upon arrival and were dismissed as our own mistake rather than that of the staff. Customer service is key to retaining repeat business. With plenty of quality cafes in the area vying for our patronage, we will be exploring other options in the future."

"Have always walked past this attractive looking Mexican food cafe, then my girlfriend decided to treat me, from the bright outside decor, to the sleek modern decor inside, this place is a class act! It only maybe a cafe but its value choice of food, and modern sleek advertising makes this the best cafe I've been too in ages, def the best on George street! I had a chicken rice box, which was packed with cheese and topping, my partner had the finest burrito she had had since her holiday in Mexico a few year back, A Coke and an Oreo ice cream took the bill to a £10 , fantastic value and a great addition to the city!"

"Upon entering the restaurant was as cosy as i remembered from my last visit several years ago. We were placed at a window table which was great. First hiccup was I’m a cider drinker and on the cider menu it only had a bottled section all being fruit or 0% which I’m not fond of. Had I not asked I wouldn’t have noticed that cider draught was mentioned in draught beer section. Maybe that should be reviewed as I had no intentions of looking at beers being a cider drinker. The next wee fumble was when we looked at the menu and upon approach to take our order we were told the simple words. Beef is unavailable but we have pork. We did not have a clue what she was talking about and assumed she had told us something that was meant for another table. Was only after ordering and needing to use the toilet that we spotted a specials board with roast dinners and other options on them that we had never been told about or made aware of as it also isn’t mentioned on the menu about Sunday roasts. Would have been nice to have been told about this option. The next hiccup i encountered was the dessert menu. We were told no cheesecake left. That was fine cos I only ever order fudgecake or cheesecake when I’m out so the server came back to get our order and I asked for fudgecake. To be told sorry we have none. So I decided to pass on desert. everyone else at our table ordered and ate there’s. So around 20-30 mins had passed and we got up to pay and leave. We were the last table out and I know I seen cheesecake sitting behind of the counter so I assumed one of the staff reserved a slice for themselves which I found rather annoying knowing I ddnt get it instead. For my main I ordered the Katsu chicken. Chicken rice and popadoms were nice. Chips were the best Iv had in a long time. So crispy and fluffy. Top marks there. However the Katsu curry sauce was watery and bland. Being out for a birthday meal I did not want to make a scene so I ate up. But I definitely think the sauce needs improvement. Staff were nice and smily but felt like they were lacking on some simple aspects of service as once again we were on the premises for an hour and a half and we weren’t asked if we would like another drink at any point either after the initial pint. Would I come back….. probably but not in a hurry."

"4/4/22 Deptford Viet Rest This is not a review but it is a notice to say that the restaurant is being refurbished as from 24th of January. I passed it yesterday at 21:00 on the 4th of April as I wanted a Vietnamese meal with my friends but it was closed. I passed it again at 23:30 after going to similar PhoHanoi up the road instead and the wonderful Dog&Bell after to find a decorator/builder inside decorating the restaurant. It will be reopening at some point I expect. I have no idea of the prices when it reopens but they will probably be similar to the other restaurants as the food becomes more gentrified and hipster. Like the other similar Vietnamese restaurant it will probably not be ‘ ’ anymore"
