"Hakkasan promises a lot and although objectively good, fails to hit the standards necessary for a restaurant of this magnitude. Personally I am definitely a big fan of East Asian cuisine and I was very much looking forward to trying out Hakkasan as it would be my first East Asian Michelin starred restaurant. On arrival I was greeted with very friendly staff and a deeply atmospheric facility. The Dim Sum we received was delicious, fresh, and had a level of uniqueness to them. However the same could not be said for the rest of our meal. Although the food was indeed good, it didn’t seem good enough. Comparatively nothing stood out from the food you would receive at other Chinese restaurants with significantly lower price points. Another thing to note would be that the service provided was also quite average and on occasion somewhat callous. In conclusion, there are definitely better options for an enjoyable dinner with similar standards at a much lower price. As it seems going to Hakkasan is less so about the fine dining experience and more so about status and atmosphere"

"This was my second time dining here, and once again I faced a long wait for a table. This time it was an hour, and during the wait, we were only offered a drink, which I think should have been complimentary given the lengthy delay. Fortunately, we managed to find a spot to sit while waiting, but many others who arrived after us had to stand around. Honestly, I might have decided to leave if we hadn’t found a place to wait. However, once we were seated, the service and food were good, and the atmosphere was lively. I’d love to return, but the long wait for a table is definitely a turn-off, especially since it happened both times I visited."

"We were seated by the window which was lovely and seen to within minutes but my only remark would be it was very rushed so you never had time to enjoy every course before the next one was out infront of you. "This restaurant is set within the Marriott Hotel. On arrival it was very quiet and could've done with some background music. We were warmly greeted by the manager. The menu offers a nice selection and some different dishes. Our waitress was very nervous as it was her first week, we really felt for her. She didn't know the soup of the day, and had to ask about what the dishes included. She really could've done with some training and help from her supervisor. Our wine arrived and we weren't offered to sample it and then they left it for us to pour ourselves. We wouldn't expect this from this type of venue. The food was lovely but the prices and service charge made it a very expensive affair."

"This was my first experience at an Italian restaurant, and it was truly special. I started with the broccoli appetizer and I didn't want it to end! We also ordered a bottle of white wine that was on special and it was fantastic. It was fruity at first and had a dry aftertaste. For my main course, I chose the Casa Italia pasta dish with spinach and ricotta. For dessert, I had the amaretto dessert and it was so delicious that I could have cried. The atmosphere was sweet and cozy, with great music that set the mood. The staff treated us like family and I would highly recommend this restaurant. It was a truly special find. Thank you."

"Exceptional standard of food! I don’t think I’ve ever had lamb as tender as this it melted in your mouth! Cocktails were delicious, Kids portion is plenty big enough I would have been happy with this size myself. They brought out a birthday dessert free of charge which was a lovely extra. Service was great, so all in all I would highly recommend this restaurant and I’m already looking forward to next time! Thank you. "Firstly, I am somewhat amazed at the reviews theis venue has based on our visit on Saturday evening. We arrived 45 minutes early for our table for 4 persons at 7.30pm as I had called ahead at lunchtime asking if they had a bar area that we could sit and select from the menu in advance of being seated in the restaurant. I was given the impression that they had a lavish area for this purpose. However, this was not the case and we were shown to our table on arrival which was probably the worst location in the restaurant that was sparse of diners at that time. I will elaborate on our table location as it made for a negative night. It was a circular table placed in a “gap” between the original restaurant area and what appeared to be an extension to the restaurant. This gap did have curtains that could have been closed which would have curtailed guests and staff squeezing between the wall and one of our chairs but when asked the Owner said he would not close them……. In fairness, “Theo” the Owner did offer the choice another two alternative tables but both were in no better location! We sat and ordered drinks and were provided with menus. The drinks arrived in a timely fashion and were made fine. I also ordered some wine which was decanted and allowed time to breath before being served. The wine was an Amorone but the year did not warrant the price he was charging but nonetheless was quite good. We placed our food order and in doing so I asked if chef would add a simple fried egg to top the steak I had ordered. I was told by Theo that he was down a number of staff on the evening shift and could not provide the egg. How many people would we have needed to fry an egg???? To be honest the whole experience was not worth almost £500.00 even though the food fine. We also found it disturbing the way Theo tried to control the waiting staff this may have been because they were young or new to the role but we felt that the staff did a good job and didn’t need micro managing! I am always curious when a front of house individual, who gives the impression he is in total control, loses the plot mid service. I did tell Theo I would give a poor review and he pretty much dismissed me so I dug a little deeper and it would appear the restaurant has suffered financial issues in the very recent past…….. this information is in the public domaine through Google. All in all we were so disappointed with a venue that appears to have a wealth of happy diners from their reviews……. It’s NOT that good Guys!!!"

Upon first glance, The Squeeze is quite a quaint coffee shop in the heart of Leigh-on-Sea, friendly staff and even the bonus of some lovely dogs watching their owners sip coffee. Unfortunately, that’s where the dream ends. The stark reality of the place is extraordinarily long waits for food (in excess of 45 minutes… for soup. Really? over exerted staff to near breaking point. A generally less than positive experience, which is a shame for someone new to the area. Thankfully many other coffee shops in the area so I won’t have to frequent this establishment. A certain must avoid."

"I made a reservation for 5:30 PM tonight two days ago and drove over from Liverpool with my elderly parents, only to find the restaurant completely closed and boarded up. This is absolutely unacceptable. Why would you take a booking if you aren't open for business? I went into the shops on either side of the restaurant to inquire, and they informed me that many people have been facing the same issue for weeks, including some who were charged for takeaway food only to discover that the restaurant was not operating. I am incredibly outraged. I also tried calling the phone numbers for both the Hale and Knutsford locations, but neither connected. I strongly advise you to AVOID this place at all costs."

"One of the great things about Farnham is that you can stumble upon hidden gems down side streets or alleys. Borelli’s is one of these hidden treasures, with a quaint courtyard outdoor area that is perfect for dining. The outdoor heaters provide a cozy atmosphere, and the bar has a modern city feel. The staff at Borelli’s were amazing, especially with our son who they engaged with and entertained with their knowledge of Pokémon. The menu offers a Mediterranean fusion of Spanish and Italian cuisines, including pizza, pasta, and tapas. We tried the fish paella, spicy chicken wings, antipasto platter, and a dish similar to patatas bravas. While the chicken was perfectly cooked and the potatoes were crispy, the antipasto seemed store-bought and the paella lacked fish and seafood flavor. Despite this, we would probably return to Borelli’s because of the pleasant atmosphere and friendly service."

"Text: Disappointed with this restaurant which I’ve used over 8 times in 18 months. I drove from Crawley and booked ahead of time for my 66th birthday lunch a table for 4 at 1.30pm with my wife and two teenage kids aged 16&18. The price is reasonable when the quality is good the bill came to £185.00 including £20 service charge automatically added to the bill. Overview: The service was okay as usual quick but not friendly we were served by 5 different people. However what was horrible and shocking was that the food quality has dropped significantly since my last visit in September 2023. The scallops were very good as usual but the haddock and chips was very disappointing indeed…(more later) Oysters were pathetic the flesh was tiny and not tasty at all. Calamari was soft and the batter was soggy and ‘flat’. The fish and chips … haddock was dry and flakey and chewy clearly frozen fish. The batter was completely different to my last meal at Regency this time it was soggy and flat no crisp whatsoever. The chips were cold and miserable. The apple pie was disgusting really disgusting tasteless and bland and the pie crust was soft and soggy the runny cream was a bit sour and suspect my wife asked me to taste it and I poured some into my double espresso and it curdled. The tiramisu and profiteroles were ok. I just recently voted this restaurant for best in Brighton but I think that was a mistake. It’s a shame the food quality was so poor especially for simple things that should be excellent and are not technically acceptable! Poor show."

"ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED! From the minute we got to the door the service was atrocious! The girl on the door has a chip on her shoulder speaking to us terribly! We booked an outdoor table and were places upstairs inside with the very loud music. We asked to move and were told there wasnt any space?? We ordered 2 bottles of prosecco and 5 glasses. We received the bottles and 2 glasses and the waiter walked away? After trying to catch someone to solve the situation we got up and left without even breaking the seal on the prosecco. We WILL NOT be returning! Hard Rock Cafe was happy to have us with actual customer service skills!"
