"our favorite restaurant by far. we have been driving for about 20 years 8 times a year to terra mia and celebrate every family birthday there. I also eat with friends there and we sometimes meet with other families on terra mia. eating is great and the bill is always a beautiful surprise. the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. that is up to the great staff. we celebrated the 17th birthday of our son last week and I'm trying to work when we can go back."

"We are eight friends who get together every two months for lunch. We decided on The Italian kitchen and weren’t disappointed. We loved the restaurant beautiful atmosphere, fabulous menu vast choices it took me awhile to make a choice as there was so many lovely dishes to choose from. "We were recommended the Churchill by our guest house. We were greeted by Reece who had actually taken our booking that evening. He promptly helped us with our drinks and explained the menu. The ambience of the restaurant was beautiful and relaxing and we chose where we wanted to be seated which was beneath Churchill's painting. Soon after we were asked by Reece if we were ready to place our order. When the food arrived it was generous portions and certainly had the wow factor. We will definitely return on our next visit to York. We will recommend the Churchill Hotel Restaurant to everybody.. Hopefully they'll get the pleasure of Reese serving them."

"I booked the Crown for my mums birthday dinner on the Saturday 25th November as I had seen generally good feedback online. I used to frequent the Crown many years back and on entering the bar area I was impressed by the refurbishment as it does look very modern and stylish. Unfortunately that’s where the Crown continuing to impress pretty much ended for my guests and I. On arrival I let the restaurant know we had arrived a bit early and was told the table was ready, come through whenever..we literally finished our drinks in the bar and went through, only to be told they’d given our table away. Not great! Had to wait till other guests had finished, cleared/reset tables. Offered complimentary drink, of which only one turned up. To be honest, they weren’t particularly interested that we had to wait or drinks didn’t turn up..it was difficult to get anyone’s attention. The staff and staff in general seemed uninterested and overworked. Food in the end was pretty average..nothing special, except the price. Which although wasn’t extortionate, was pricey for average food. You get better for less elsewhere. It appears you’re paying for the nice setting..which is lovely until it becomes noisy, hard to get to the bar and doorstaff start policing the main entrance after a certain time. All of which detracts from what could be a nice place.. Would I go back..not for a meal as it’s overpriced and not all that really in terms of service or quality..possibly for a drink with mates. When I was younger this was one of the places everyone went to be seen, looks as if it’s still that place for some, just jazzed up and capitalising on the gastro-pub revolution. I’m also sure it’s part of a group, as I went to the Mermaid for Sunday lunch..v similar menu. However the food was exceptional, service was far superior and the bill was surprisingly low. In short the whole experience was much better..so if it is part of a group, then the Crown could learn a few lessons from the Mermaid."

"Absolutely amazing! I went with my boyfriend on Friday night for a lovely meal. He recently moved to the area and we had been told by many locals it was the place to go when in the area. It was more than I expected, the service and A le Carte menu surpassed our expectations. On arrival we didn't reserve an area) we was greeted with warm smiles by all the waiters and staff, who treated us like we were the only people in the restaurant. Despite having a full house we were given a great table and it wasn't just the staff who were smiling, all those who had come in to dine were too. "I used to be a regular here but with new waiters and waitresses who have clearly not been trained in hospitality, I won’t be visiting again. On my penultimate trip, I was not served despite asking for a table and making eye contact. I had my baby whom I was feeding and had to wait for my sister to arrive to take my order as I was upset at the hostile staff. The next day I was charged for cakes I asked for but had not even been correctly packed. This was really careless as I was overloaded with shopping and couldn’t check my takeaway boxes and request missing items were packed as I had paid for them. On my last trip (Saturday 23rd) I stood at the front and paid for a hot drink which I requested as a takeaway with a poorly newborn but watched the waiter and waitress take other orders first. In the end I had to leave without my drink and money as I was far too angry but also tired at the prospect of standing around. It’s such a shame they were not able to hold onto their original staff who were so very kind and warm and friendly. Suffice to say I will not be coming here again and wasting my money."

"I have been in this bistrot only once for a truffle dinner. It is a cosy French bistrot with friendly members of staff. Food is equally delicious and well prepared. I also liked the fact that they run the thematic dinners inspired by cuisine from different French regions. The price is rather on the high range. "A truly gluten free Italian restaurant in the heart of London seems too good to miss, and it was. Absolutely everything on the menu is gluten free, so there is no risk of cross contamination, and there is real depth of understanding of vegan and dairy free needs as well. It is a family run business and there is great sense of rapport amongst the staff, which spreads to their understanding of customer needs. Food is delicious, and served quickly (we had a vegan salad, canollini and ravioli all excellent) with quirky, healthy drinks (gluten free beer is also available, of course) and a superlative chocolate brownie to finish. Service is quick and efficient yet warm. It is a small cafe sized restaurant, so booking absolutely essential in the hour we were there they turned away at least ten potential groups because of lack of space. They could use twice the space, given the demand I saw. It is not suitable for customers with a severe nut allergy as they use a lot of nuts in their recipes. The only reason I hesitate to share a good review of this great find is that I want to be sure of a table next time!"

We use this restaurant as much as possible since we started our house extension. Val, clem and chef will go out of there way to make you feel welcome and have the perfect dinning experience. I can personally recommend the Meat Lasagne, Meat Calzone, Spaghetti Bolognese, Linguine Frutti Di Mare dishes, the New Yorker, Pollo, Fiorentina pizzas and the Garlic bread with fresh chilli and garlic dip, both which are not on the menu but there happy to make for you if you ask them. "it's sad to see how every visit in tokii, the service goes simply continuous. on my recent visit I was told that they could not serve me because the kitchen was not ready for the afternoon tea set I requested. they place the responsibility on open table and blame it on a communication error between the app and them. it was clear, however, that the restaurant had shown the reservation on the screen and since there were 5 hours from my booking to the actual date, there was enough time to inform us about the missing availability. the host offered to book us for another time, but this is not sufficient compensation for all guests who travel all the way to try out their products only to be put on the door. I acknowledge that it is not quite tokii fault, but as a hotel restaurant that is proud of its hospitality, there is much more to wish than that."

"husband and I had our first visit on Thursday night. we had to share the freche garlic bread (gorgeously melting,) followed by the huge ribeye-, and this was worth every single penny of just shy fifty pounds. we were warned that it would prepare up from 40 minutes and cook what it did and oh young, it was worth waiting. this huge plate of medium-boiled steak on the bone was delicate, perfectly boiled, smokey on the outside and juicy on the inside, and made the man and I almost speechless in his deliciousness. the accompanying broken swirl rings and rugged chips had to die for as well as the mushroom and pfeffer grain sauces. we were too cloged for dessert, it had not happened what was a shame when they looked amazing. the maitre d really knew his things and was ingenious and welcoming as the waiting staff. we slowly chased into the car with our uncomfortable baby bells and both explained it to the best we had in months. top notch."

"My husband for the date night when we love sushi and we wanted to try something new as his first time in Genji . Wow wanted to start from the moment we went, we were greeted by the manager and asked what table we like. At a table of our choice, as we are on a date, the staff recommended a bottle of seasonal wine that was perfect after a hot day. With the very helpful Radek and our amazing waitress melissa, the service was amazing and when it came to dinner. It was the best sushi I've eaten for a long time. So fresh and full of taste and so creative. And the Veggie role was out when the world. Great Sushi Square . Very recommended"
