"A very good meal with choices of a la carte or table d 'hote to suit your budget and appetite. Have eaten here each time we holiday in York and would certainly recommend for a special occasion. My only gripe is why does Open Table ask if it is a special occasion, which it was, my birthday, yet not a single comment of Happy Birthday from the Churchill. Please note I was not expecting any freebie just an acknowledgement."

I did not book this hotel but another hotel had apparently overbooked and therefore they moved me into here. The Churchill is a 3* hotel and is very grand

Wow!! Exceeded all expectations! The 2 waiters/waitress were amazing, attentive and knowledgeable but not “stuffy”. The food was delicious and so much choice. The room is beautiful and the tables are spread out so whilst cosy is also intimate.
