"We picked Sygn based on the reviews hoping it would have a cool vibe. However, it was almost empty, pretty quite and they food was very overpriced for what it was. It would have been better if it was busier or had live music but as it was neither it was a bit of a let down."

"We were recommended the Churchill by our guest house. We were greeted by Reece who had actually taken our booking that evening. He promptly helped us with our drinks and explained the menu. The ambience of the restaurant was beautiful and relaxing and we chose where we wanted to be seated which was beneath Churchill's painting. Soon after we were asked by Reece if we were ready to place our order. When the food arrived it was generous portions and certainly had the wow factor. We will definitely return on our next visit to York. We will recommend the Churchill Hotel Restaurant to everybody.. Hopefully they'll get the pleasure of Reese serving them."

"I visited this restaurant several times and was a repeated customer due to the high quality of the food and the variety of dishes. unfortunately the service was always a bit hit and miss. for example, table booking has to be postponed at short notice, slow service, forget about it to be brought out etc. these are all points that could be improved on easily and would give this restaurant a better assessment."

"Good service with welcome recommendations from the very friendly waiter. Food was cooked and presented well. We were a table of four and all enjoyed our courses. Twelve and a half percent service charge was added to our bill which we were happy to pay but the waiter told us this did not include a tip for him??? Never known this before, we left a little extra but it slightly marred what was a very enjoyable meal."

"What a great place and amazing oysters! We walked on the streets on our last day and saw a 20 something lady eating 30 piece of oysters in the window. That saw the first strange sign of something is going on. My wife loves oysters so it made sance to eat one or two pieces, since in Hungary there is no sea. We ended up eating 8 oysters together since there were Sunday Happy Hour for Oysters! That is lucky I have to say but the quality? Hmmm. Best we ever had. We did sit at the bar and our waitress recommended her favorite type of oyster and my wife liked it a lot. When paying I realized there is a happy hour so I asked for 2 of each 3 types and we tried all together too. The one type what is the favorite of the barman was blow my mind. I have to say I became an oyster lover myself thanks to White Horse and the staff. They made us feel good even it was a bit embarrassing to sit in just for two oysters at the first place. Their kindness helped us feel good end relaxed and give us the feeling we want to come back. Thank you guys. I also decided not to eat oysters in Hungary anymore but save up the money and come back this place everytime we are in Edinburg."

"The restaurant is a well-known English steak and seafood establishment with a fantastic menu and exceptional staff. The food was delicious and served promptly. Our server, Joseph, was professional and attentive. The only downside was that some of the leather seat cushions were in need of repair, which detracted from the overall elegant atmosphere. Despite this, I would definitely return and perhaps suggest investing in new seat cushions for an even better dining experience."
