"I have been visiting this restaurant in Chelsea for many years now and always had a positive experience but last night it was quite the opposite. We went with my friends around 7:30 on a Sunday evening, while waiting for a table the waiter mumbled something that we did not quite get. Bottom line is that they were closing a few minutes after and we did not know, they served us the food in a rush, while eating it the music was turned off, we realised what was happening, the whole thing was very uncomfortable, adding the fact that they were all very rude.I asked one of them, if they were closing and the answer was, yes , acting offended that we did not know and it was our fault that they could not leave. We rushed to leave and felt very uncomfortable,I worked in catering and I know well how it works I would never go into a place that is closing. I also want to add that there was no 'opening hours written at the door and to me you the staff did not care to be clear about it ,especially in a restaurant, before taking an order. is it the customers fault if you frustrated at work? You should be clearer and advice people humanly, we would have gone somewhere else. I believe that this behaviour could be easily avoided, your staff should be kinder to customer and more communicative. Funny enough, in so many years the pancake never changed size, strangely enough they were much smaller last night, coincidence ?"

"Has Something has changed at SHAPLA??..... I think so, and for the good of Moulsham! I ordered about 10 items including 2 mains, 3 sides, onion Bhaji and bread. This is probably the 6th or 7th curry I’ve taken away from here over a few years. I’ve always found it decent but no more. The staff and owners have been friendly a s courteous but the food has never been stand out to me. Until this time..IF THIS IS THE NEW STANDARD COUNT ME IN! There’s a sense of establishment about the place where traditions and skills are passed down to the young lot and so forth. And it feels, from tasting the various dishes that I ordered, that they’ve hit onto good times in the kitchen and throughout. My point is.... every dish was WELL EXECUTED. The chicken Tikka in the Dhansak was big, tender, colourful and tasted like char grilled properly. the Dhansak (without sugar as requested) was perfect, thick wet consistency with a myriad of flavours exploding in the mouth at every bite. And the vindaloo hot, tandoori chicken sashlik balti was wonderful with its mix of char singed onions and broken up pieces of tandoori chicken kicking out some serious heat on the firm. All sides were banging sag paneer was sweet coconuts and creamy cheese business. The onion Bhajiis reminded of the street food in Chandigarh when I visited once. But the standout for me was the sag aloo which was well balanced in its seasoning and freshness. A complete triumph! Let me tell ya, that doesn’t happen very often. Please please SHAPLA keep up the high standard and I’ll forever be your friend. Thank you, Chad"

"I try to avoid restaurants around the royal mile, victoria street and george iw bridge, as they are a super tourist hotspot that was over fee but I was pleasantly surprised at vittoria on the bridge. it is very italian, the interieur is beautiful and quite swedish (a little dark for my taste,) but beautiful. the waiting staff are super friendly and very helpful and as most italian quite charming. I was the first to arrive and was shown at our table, but it was right in front of the kitchen, so I asked to be moved really not lust to eat my lunch to watch the kp clean the dishes! Luckily to another table in the center of the restaurant we moved the menu. her a la carte menu is extensive, but they also have the lunch card with the £95 for appetizers we ate: polpette her own tasty meatballs in a tasty sweet and sour tomato sauce with a side garlic bread. that is a great part for a starter. I say it tastes good. the tamato sauce was in fact sweet, thick and very tomato ey. insalata caprese mini creamy mozzarella balls, lush wine grape tomato, oil olive with extra virgin olive oil. a really nice clean fresh plate of eating. for the net we ate: vittorias steak burger served in a briocheen bungalow with streaky bacon smoked mozzarella served with clobigen chips a tomaten ragu sauce. that was good for a burger when a little dry. tagliatelle alla bolognese a classic; eiband pasta coated with a rich chop meat ragu. I ordered this court and it was really good. the pasta was soft but not soggy, and the ragu was perfectly spiced with a light sharp handle with a rounded sweet at the end. undoubtedly the same wut as per Polpette starter. the star of the day, however, was the gnocchi ai funghi di bosco gnocchi with porcini forest mushrooms, with garlic, petersilie and a hauch of rich truffle infused extra virgin olive oil. this is just excellent and I was so jealous when my friend ordered this court; and a court I will soon order for lunch. the truffle oil raised the rich wooden farms of the Porcini plant. the whole dish worked and it was creamy, light, fluffy, silky and very full. Peroni beer washes everything down. I should have let this place really go a long time ago, it is a jewel in the tourist place! great eating too great for locals."

"Worst things first: I think the service could have been a bit better as the waiters weren't so attentive. It was quite difficult to get their attention. Also I asked for lukewarm water as my wife was ill and we were still served chilled water. I asked for the bill to come with the card reader as we were in a rush and the bill still came alone and we had to ask for the card reader again. Other than this the ambience is really really nice. You get a nice view of Canary wharf and although the pillars block the view a bit, I guess those are required to hold the building up haha so it is what it is. Really nice view which every table can appreciate, beautiful interior design my wife referred to it as having a homely feel. I would definitely come back during the day as Im sure it would like marvellous with the sun coming through the full length windows how much better at sunset!! The food was exquisite too. I had eaten beforehand so didn't eat much: just squid rings and the bread selections. Its small but it goes a long way when restaurants heat up the butter so its soft and spreadable on nice warm and soft bread. The squid rings were good too, not too rubbery like many are these days. My wife had a bit more: the cod on mash with caviar (or just roe, not sure) and fries. The fries were so so nice, perfectly salted and fried. The cod and mash was DIVINEEE. Every bite that I stole from her was eye shut inducing. Perfectly cooked cod that tasted like it came from the sea that very morning, one of the creamiest mashed potatoes I've had in a while and then the caviar/roe to add a certain texture to the after taste. Superb. Excellent restaurant, would definitely recommend and not too bad a price as well considering the high class interior and prime location in Canary Wharf."
