"Canary Wharf is a usual favourite of mine but on this occasion, it was hugely disappointing. On a Saturday evening where the restaurant was not full but lively, I expected far more from the service. Not until we were served mains we were offered water. Our server messed up our sushi starter which then was brought out mid way through our mains which was not quite appetising for the palette. I’ve always loved the sushi at Roka but this felt rushed and really underwhelming. The sea-bream was fantastic I’ll give that. This was a birthday celebration and was not recognised as most celebrations are at any establishment. After being offered desserts no one came over again for almost 25minutes and we could not get the attention of anyone until we had to approach the staff. Was almost over charged for their error which was then rectified. This was really a saddening experience to say the least especially for a birthday."

"It’s always a pleasure to dine at Roka Aldwych. This occasion was exceptional special as my dear friend just got engaged. The food, atmosphere and staff were brilliant. The only reason why I marked down the food is because the portion size for the sushi rolls we ordered was very small and not the same quality as usual. That was disappointing. Everything else was great."

"yakinori sits on a section of the bristol road that is not known for its culinary excellence. it is student center; a stone throw from the university birmingham, where cheap beer and average Indian restaurants go hand-in-hand together, while pissed-up students cavort or do what pissed-up students do these days. I like this part of brum, because I can come with low expectations and not after home disappointed or broken. but eating good? No, that's a myth. or at least it was until yakinori arrived."

"We went after their great renovation and the ambience is good for one night in a quiet yet lively restaurant. However, given the situation not central London compared to all other many other Japanese restaurants I was, the prices are too high. I pay less for everything in an authentic Japanese restaurant in central locations. Sushi quality is great with thick and fresh cuts and good decoration and good selection of menu for the size of the kitchen. A dish that I do not enjoy was my favorite grilled egg on rice, the size of the aal was 1/3 of the normal size for the price of £18, as the aal prices have decreased little in recent years. For this reason I gave 2 star of 5 for value. If you are looking for great sushi in Kentish Town, there is no other place, so I recommend if you are a local Japanese fan."

"we were there for three on the nikolaustag yesterday and were thrilled. I ordered 6 oysters, a steak and as a dessert a cream brulee, which I had not eaten any more as delicious as here in the dox and I have already eaten some of this classic. the scabbard roast that my wife had ordered was also very good, but we have already eaten it better, e.g. in Klee ́s. we had ordered a table for 19:00 and it was also quite empty in the restaurant, which then changed within the next 2 hours. the service was extraordinary and would have earned an extra star. the ambiente very appealing and the open kitchen is also very interesting."

"Yakinori has a dedicated Veg Vegan Menu of Japanese fusion food and the restaurant is fun and vibrant. Lots of vegan options and delicious, too. My favourites are the vegan yasai donburi, kabocha pumpkin katsu, vegan yasai ramen, the vegan sushi (especially the inari sweet tofu nigiri) and the vegan yasai gyoza. They do really good vegan bubble teas at Yakinori Bristol, too! The service is always warm and friendly and they also have 2 branches in Birmingham."

"Unfortunately, my papaya salad was certainly not freshly prepared.... the tomatoes were soaky and also the fresh salad vegetables with gum-like bite also the dressing was not pikant. The chicken with vegetables and cashew nuts was all right from the general taste, but also the meat appeared to me with a taste, as warmed up. My companions had more luck with pasta dishes and spring rolls. But I will no longer come through this bad luck. If I pay about 50 € for two bottles of water, an appetizer and a main dish, I expect a better quality. The service was extremely friendly!"

"The restaurant is spacious with plenty of tables. However, the service was quite slow and a few of our favorite menu items were not available that night. If we had been informed of this beforehand, we would have chosen to dine elsewhere. The staff were friendly, but it was unclear why the service was so slow, especially since the restaurant was not very busy and there appeared to be enough waitstaff in place."

"Fantastic! I came in with my family last friday and may I say I was not disappointed. The service was remarkable. Joana (the hostess assigned to our table) was very friendly, helpful but most importantly attentive to all our needs. She came every so often to refill our teas and waters (we didn't even have to ask). Hands down to the management training of this facility I am beyond impressed by the service. The dishes recommended were wonderful as well. Will be coming back soon and looking for my hostess!"

"When we finally found it we were totally unsure of where we were meant to go for food and staff were whizzing in and out of a door which was the kitchen and no one asked if we were ok, when we were finally told abruptly that it's down the stars (in the tiny kitchen area) we were shown to a table and which my partner was glad it was happy hour on the cocktails still! We ordered our food and it was really nice! And for the price completely spot on! Couldn't fault the food! However the one thing we were disgruntled by was the 12.5% added on for a tip, I don't feel we got the personal service to add on a 10 pound tip at all!! And not only that because the bill came after happy hour we were charged full price. As we felt we were being a lead on a little to take our money as much as possible and as quick as possible we didn't stay for another drink as first planned when we chose to eat there. We were in a awkward spot where people were knocking our chairs to get past and standing right next to table having conversations. So this put a damper on the evening and chose else where to drink and continue our evening! But I will emphasise that if you are going out a good food then I really can't fault the place."

"Having been to Kura revolving sushi bars in the United States, which is generally rated 4+ stars, definitely not for sushi quality but maybe for the revolving sushi experience that is quite limited and new to the regions, Yo!, without a doubt, outranks them in my book. This place is generally extremely busy. No seats are left vacant, so don't expect too much space while eating, for the claustrophobics. Therefore, outstanding service is reasonably to not be expected. However, as a solo customer, I was able to be quickly seated at the bar, sandwiched between two other customers, with limited space to flare my elbows out while using utensils to eat. In comparison to Kura, the Salmon Sashimi at Yo! was much fresher. What actually surprised me most was the generous amount of seafood I was given in the Spicy Seafood Ramen I was served. The taste of the broth and texture of the noodle were mediocre, however. The staff quickly attended to my needs and were able to get me in and out with plenty of time to make it to my gate for on-boarding. All it took was a waiving of a hand to grab the attention of the overworked employees. Would likely come back."

"If you were rating this place on the quality of food alone, it wouldn 't score this highly, but visiting Yo! Sushi is more than just eating, it 's experience. Everything is so cute. From the little dishes for your soy and wasabi, to the cute little dishes trundling along the conveyor belt, to the little pencils and colouring sheet they bought out for my daughter. And sushi is just the perfect choice for me. I much prefer to have a little bit of lots of different dishes rather than one big plate of one thing. I love to try new things and I 'm determined that one day I 'll be able to tick off everything on the menu at Yo! and say yep! I 've tried the lot! And I must say I had a pretty good stab at ticking a lot of dishes off on Sunday.... I most recently visited Yo! during their 'Sumo Sundays ' promotion all you can eat from the belt for £19.50. And boy did I make my money count! I never find sushi particularly filling, but man I was waddling down the escalators out of Harvey Nicks feeling glad of my stretchy pants!! It was very busy, there was a queue in front of me 6 year old Mini MacDoo number 1 when we arrived, but it didn 't take long for us to get seated at the belt. My daughter wasn 't hungry and isn 't adventurous enough to try any of the dishes (much to her foodie mum 's disappointment! so I was a bit worried about her getting bored, but the waiter who served us brought her a a little packet of pencil crayons and a colouring and activity sheet to keep her occupied, which included a fab game where you have to spot six different dishes going round on the belt I got as excited as she did when we ticked the last couple off! So, daughter happily occupied, I began my assault on the belt. I scoffed hairy prawns, salmon skin iso, tuna nigiri, chicken gyoza, crunchy prawn iso, tempura prawns, chicken tsukune, Yo! Rolls and the totally amazing spicy pepper squid. And more. Yes, I 'm a greedy pig, but hey, gotta get your money 's worth in an 'all you can eat ' promotion. In fact I take it as a personal challenge! I 'm determined to take Mr MacDoo to Yo! at some point too. He 's one of these folk who think they won 't like sushi because they 're put off by the thought of raw fish. Or even fish! But I know he 'll love the yaki soba and the chicken katsu and the tsukune balls and the gyoza. Even if you 're not a fish lover there 's still loads to choose from so don 't let it put you off. So in short? Yummy food and a fantastic fun experience. I can 't wait to go again! Stop press!! Have just found out that Leeds is getting a new Yo! Sushi in the new city centre shopping centre Trinity Leeds later this year! Yussss! Bagsy being the first to Yelp about it!!"

"Let's begin with where to start. I highly recommend avoiding the fish taco starter. It was not actually a taco, but rather a mint leaf. It was truly awful and far from being a taco or anything Japanese. Overall, it was quite repulsive."

"We went to celebrate my boyfriend birthday. Food was alright but service wasn’t great. Waitress forgot to send one of our main course and we had to ask few times where is our food, eventually arranged when we all finished our main courses. Also some of the starters arrived but we didn’t order them and later on they were added on our bill. No apology or whatsoever, I wouldn’t go back there again even though venue it’s really nice and if the waitress would be nicer to us I’m sure we could have better experience."

"I started with the "Potato Salad," which I wouldn’t typically associate with Japanese cuisine, but it's apparently a classic dish from Izakayas (Japanese gastropubs). It’s quite similar to our own potato salad but features a Japanese mustard mayo dressing and pickled vegetables. I can’t order sushi without including some "Inari." This dish consists of sushi rice wrapped in sweet tofu pockets. It may sound unusual and even look a bit strange, but it’s absolutely delicious. The new menu has some interesting creations that veer away from traditional sushi presentations, like the ‘Dynamite’—salmon and avocado inside-out rolls with chili oil and my favorite condiment, sriracha. It's not for purists, but it tastes fantastic and has quite the kick."

"It’s not the first time I have problems with this place. They keep sending food that have ingredients that are not specified on the menu. I am allergic to dairy and more than one occasion they sent sushis containing dairy to me. Last time I...ordered this it happened too and after a lot of arguments they sent again my order so when it got to my home we received unripe avocado sushi’s. Veggie and meat option mixed together. One word: disgusting. Don’t bother eating there"

"Food lovely. Slightly put out by the service. We were asked if we'd like a drink and didn't receive it. At the end we were asked if we could leave a review whilst we were paying. Then we were asked to leave a tip. I will always tip but I don't like to be asked! In the end I tipped myself for the self service I had so diligently performed."

"We've been to Pan Asia periodically for the past years or thereabouts. We regularly bring friends and family here when we want to give them a good Asian meal. Our last visit was August The food is genuinely South-East Asian; I've not...been to Korea so cannot comment on the authenticity of that part of the menu other than to say that it is delicious! The Malaysian and Thai dishes are authentic the chef is very happy to increase the spice level if required. My wife is Malaysian and when she is homesick this is where she comes for a taste of home! The sushi is fresh and the best I've found in Nottingham so far and I am fussy about this! Sometimes there can be a wait for it, but that is because it is being made up fresh. For a large order of sushi it is advised to order ahead when you book the table. The Dragon Roll is fun and tasty! The staff are always attentive and helpful, but never pushy. They will check if the used dishes are finished with and remove them once you are happy."
