"We went here for dinner on our first night in Edinburgh because of the story of the dog Bobby. It was wonderful to see the statue and learn more about it, but the pub itself was a bit of a disappointment. The chef was finishing early so we were brought our starter and mains at the same time, and no opportunity to order a dessert. This was 8pm on a Friday night, so would have expected to be able to eat eithout the rush at that time. The staff were very friendly, but the service was quite slow. The food was okay, but nothing too special and the atmosphere was a bit dead. There are other better places to try scottish classics in the city."

"Nice little place with tasty cheesecakes. They even have a good selection of bagels. But we here for the cheesecakes. We ordered an amaretto and pistachio and a malteser cheesecake. Both of which were nice, but I didn’t really taste much nuts on mines and my wife just thought hers was like a normal cheesecake with malteser on top (nothing particularly special). It was also a shame that the cheesecake was presented in a cardboard box so it was a bit crushed. We also got a bounty cheesecake milkshake and a Daim cheesecake milkshake. Both of which were terrific. Really tasty actually. Much better than the last milkshake I had. On top of that we ordered a rollo and milkybar traybake. Both were good but probably would have been tastier if we were hungrier when we ate them. The girl that served us was very nice and was able to offer recommendations. Overall, we are glad we have went and we enjoyed the food but not the best cheesecakes we’ve had."

"Great location. Can sit inside, but more tables outside where most sit. Dogs more than welcome with treats provided! Been a number of times. Really friendly owner and staff. Food beautiful fresh and home made. Do baguettes etc, but it the home made dishes that really set it apart plenty of v options. Fantastic unspoilt area try a walk down through the woods or lane to the beach (no parking there) and come back for a cuppa and bite."

"Was in the west end of Edinburgh one Saturday morning and having skipped on breakfast, thought I would find a little cafe and grab a roll and a coffee for on the go. Cafe Vigo is situated right on the main road through the Corstorphine Area, so was ideal place for what I needed. For 11am on a Saturday morning it was packed both inside and out. Ordered the breakfast wrap and a coffee to go, and waited outside while it was prepared. Order was ready in no time and was VERY tasty! Staff are very friendly and would have no problem visiting here again if in the area."

"Popped in for lunch on a recent trip to Edinburgh and was immediately drawn in by the cheerful appearance and extensive (and VERY reasonably priced) menu. We took so long to decide on our choices that it became a standing joke with the owner when we returned for brunch the following day! For such a small venture, the menu is vast, though the owner assured me that everything is homemade. Having tasted it, I believe him! My daughter enjoyed a toasted tuna and cheese bagel with a side of herby baked beans (utterly delicious), while I had the pulled pork and chipotle bean stew, which was topped with sour cream and jalapenos, and served with a side salad of leaves, tomato, toasted seeds and a balsamic drizzle. If you aren 't a fan of heat, it 's probably best to shy away from the stew as it was rather spicy, but it was tempered by the sour cream. The following day my daughter had the breakfast wrap, containing a 2 egg omelette, tomato, and a choice of filling. I had 'beans on toast ' which comprised homemade baked beans with thick slabs of crusty toasted bread, topped with a poached egg. As I can 't eat eggs, this was changed for a couple of rasher of bacon without a quibble. This is a fabulous little cafe with some really inventive items on the menu the Ultimate Macaroni Sandwich springs to mind! Give it a try!"

"Good place, not noisy and great service. The downside though is the food, the menu is so limited which is understandable as this is the style of the bar. But the depressing part is that even with limited options depending mainly on bagels, the bagels themselves weren 't available leaving us only with Crisps as an option to snack with drinks."

"The service was pretty bad. One waitress was trying her best, but I think she was new, so she didn 't have all the knowledge needed. The other one seemed more experienced but she forgot what we asked 3 times. We ordered 2 dishes to be served one after the other. We waited for the first course 25 minutes, and the place was empty, only other 2 tables that had already been served. The first platter was very good, with bacon, eggs, avocado, cheese and little bagels... When it was time to get the second dish, she informed us that it wasn 't available... why not telling us immediately?!? We opted for the cookies platter, after we were guaranteed that their cookies were baked and melt in the middle ... we got a plate that we would have created better ourleves with cookies, marshmellows and chocolate sauce from Lidl! It was of very poor quality, with supermarket cookies warmed up in the oven and the other 2 ingredients just put on the plate. We ordered 2 cappuccinos, that have been forgotten, so we just left asnd had a Starbucks! We were expecting a lot more from their reviews!"

"recently visited (juni 2021.) it was disappointed by the lack of vegan options given positive reviews that I had previously seen. the options of the protein with the salat I ordered were all meat or fish without vegan option, but was still calculated the same price. salate was de-resined; it was only wet and covered with a sperling Maldon salt. really inconspicuous and unfilled. really pity! location is beautiful and think that this place for vegan with just a few tweaks, but how it is really disappointing."

"Fantastic food and excellent service. This is not pub food. This is a high-class, high-quality restaurant with attentive and helpful staff, a varied menu, set in a spacious, welcoming, and comfortable dining room. You have to wait a bit for your food as it is all freshly prepared, but you don't notice the waiting time as you would in a regular pub. The atmosphere and the ambience are relaxing, and when your food arrives, your wait is so worth it. Beautifully cooked, exquisitely presented, perfectly sized portions of fresh, delicious food that easily surpassed our expectations. Prices are very reasonable and so you get excellent value for money. A large car park and a huge patio and garden area for sunnier days, there's nothing negative to report. I would score it 8 out of 5 if I could, and I can't wait for my next visit."

"If you are planning to visit this restaurant for a drink, make sure to sit in the designated area. We were put off by the rude greeting from the woman at the entrance. As soon as we walked in, she aggressively shouted, "Can I help you, can I help you" from across the room. It was clear she was irritated that we did not immediately know where to go. Disappointed by her attitude, we decided to leave and will not be returning. It is important to create a friendly and welcoming environment, especially for customers who are new to the establishment. Simply guiding them to the correct seating area for drinks or food would have sufficed."

"Always enjoy our visits to blondes since our first one many years ago. They are a fully cruelty free establishment and passionate about animal rights. True kindred spirits! They don’t just say they love animals… they really do! The food is fab, the cakes are divine and the range of products available to take home is huge considering the size of the cafe. They do take outs too and will cater for events. The honey blonde coffee is one of my firm favourite hot drinks ever. Can’t wait for our next visit! We’re going to pick up our Boxing Day hamper we pre ordered. You don’t have to be vegan to eat here (many of their customers aren’t) but if you are you will love it. Be prepared to wait for a table at busy times of buy food to go. They will do their very best to fit you in. Open Wednesday to Sunday 10-3 but check their Facebook page to be sure."

"WHY do Mooch think it's in any way acceptable to charge £15 for a 1cm thick slice of goats cheese with a bit of salad. This time they didn't even put the caramelised onions on so I had to ask for them. They also threw a load of rocket on top of the cheese, probably hoping that I wouldn't see how tiny the cheese was. We have complained about this multiple times but yet still tiny portions for us and huge profits for Mooch. Staff turnover is massive too. Please be a bit more generous. I had to have snacks on the way home."

"I’ve lived a 4 min drive from this place for nearly 2 years and had never been in as the vegan options were very limited but that is only at first glance! The chef loves to be creative, asking likes and dislikes then prepares the most delicious food! This is like no other food in the areahis attention to detail, flavour combinations and passion for what he does is outstanding! The staff team are equally amazing. Our server, Susan, was very passionate about us enjoying our whole experience. We’re already planning our next visit! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian visible on the menu. Vegan is cooked to order."

"terrible. terrible. terrible. read great reviews about this place, but unfortunately I did not have the same experience. it could be the fact that I arrived 45 minutes before closing or could it be because under new administration it is not as good as it was once. I have the bagel burger, which was well cooked by British laws (we leave the film.) chips looked like the frozen island. buffalo wings are not buffalo and the bbq wings lubricated so easy, I had better buffalo wings from bar’s. the blue cheese dip I read about from earlier reviews for this place was something new and beautiful, it was just not for me. diner looked clean, but the staff was much to chat with any other...read more"

"Please visit this lovely cafe. The food was amazing, and the coffee, especially the guest roast, was excellent. What makes this place so special is its focus on providing job opportunities to people who might struggle to find work elsewhere. There was a bit of a misunderstanding over our order, and I initially thought they couldn’t cater to my wife’s dietary needs—no onion, garlic, or lactose. The manager of the day (I assume) went out of her way to clarify and speak with my wife about her requirements. They made a beautiful, bespoke sandwich that met all her needs, topped off with a vegan flapjack. It was such a beautiful gesture, and I was humbled by their care and attention to detail. It’s a shame we don’t live nearby, as we would be regulars."

"After reading all the great reviews we just had to book the afternoon tea today and the little gem certainly lives up to all the hype. A lovely treat and such a different selection of sandwiches, quiche and without a doubt, the most delicious sausage rolls I have ever eaten. Actually wanted to but some to take home, but after a busy day, they had sold out. How dare they!! Huge slice of delicious carrot and pistachio cake and large scone with strawberry jam and clotted cream 2 large pots of tea . just couldn't fault it. We brought the new tapas menu home with us as well as half the above offerings too much to eat in one go and will certainly be booking that in the future. Lovely friendly owner and relaxed atmosphere. You really must try it opposite the old bread factory on Hucknall road so you cannot miss it."

"great value for money! Although it started extremely slowly and the first round of drinks to come out to a fair amount of time, luke was fantastic and turned everything quickly for us. fantastic service from him. Eating was really amazing, most brunettes give them small chat, but we all had something different than the menu and all food looked and tasted fantastic. I personally went for the rainbow bag and oh wow. perfect. Top tip, pick up a bottle prosecco first, as this is fast for them to bring our and then order their cocktails while they drink this bottle. we all really enjoyed the brunch, the best value for money the vibe was good. what could be improved. toilets were not kept on the head and 3 times we used there was no loo roll."

"Great place, I must admit I favour the outdoor seating as the atmosphere is good but you feel less cramped and overwhelmed, it feels cut off from the city and you could easily believe you were miles away. During busy hours the indoor seating just loses the atmosphere as it's so loud (you pretty much have to shout for the person nexto you to hear you) and cramped. If it's quiet then no complaints it feels warm and cosy, you can enjoy a drink or some food, there's a nice buzz and chatter. On every visit the service has been impeccable, the staff are all polite and attentive without being pushy or in your face. Drinks are well made, plenty of selection without being over the top, you can enjoy such a wide variety, you never just want to have one and with each visit you need to try something new. The food is easy and full of flavour, may not be a place for dinner but for a quick bite or some accompaniments for your drinks it is ideal. Definitely worth it!!"

"for the first time last week visited the dancing goat and had a great experience. we do not live near, but will definitely come back when we are close. we own our own coffee shop, but were gone for a few days and. I really missed a decent cup when coffee. we had a search on google and this place came with some good recommendations. we were not disappointed. the coffee was perfect, really beautiful and full-bodied. also banan bread with zimtbutter, which was amazing, like the croissants. really friendly service. they were only open for outlier because of everything that was going on at the moment, but this has not been from a whole round great experience. the business is located in a beautiful small community area, so standing outside the church in the sun, drinking a beautiful cup coffee and watching the world go by. perfect"
