"Excellent three course meal.... Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, start to finish. We had calimari, halloumi, chicken shish and baklava, each course was amazing, the service was great, it was lunchtime so fairly quiet but lady serving was attentive and helpful..... Great wine choice, although a bit pricey, great veiws, would be a great place to visit when the weather is good to access the outside. Clean, loved the rope lights, will definitely be returning UPDATE: Love this place, definitely had become our favourite restaurant, have been coming here as often as our budget allows UPDATE: Honestly this place never disappoints....... "1* (well, if I could but I have to give 2* because I was told by my server that the service charge is not fully shared amongst the staff like literally every other vegan restaurant I've ever been to in London, but is retained by the restaurant instead. You can and should ask for the legally always optional service charge to be removed and then tip your server on the card machine or in cash instead. We were given the above information by our server when I asked what happened to the service charge before we paid the bill. Our server was tremendously grateful when we offered to replace the service charge with a tip. The business has since disputed what we were both told at the time in a very aggressive reply that you can see below this review, denying what we were both told by the business at the time, and that none of the service charge is retained. I strongly encourage you to read the wording of this reply below. As for the rest of the it: Like others have said, upon arrival at our booking time we had to wait at the bar to be seated. Our drinks arrived half an hour after ordering, after our starters. Food: the bajan codfish tacos were a big win for us both. The bacon mac and cheese was spot on. The saltfish sushi was nice, though I didn't get any fishiness. The curry goat was in a tasty sauce, though the fake meat was a bit weird and the fried plantain was just two small slices. We had planned to share the curry goat, and we had asked for it to be served with the chillis on the side as my friend couldn't take much spice on the day instead, it was served with extra chillis mixed in, making it inedible to my friend. We mentioned this to our server but nothing was done to rectify it. The grilled roti was oily and disappointing. The banana cake with all the trimmings was overall enjoyable although the cake itself was a little too dense like vegan cakes from a decade ago, and my omni friend wasn't a fan of the ice cream though I enjoyed it. But the whole thing was a huge let down when I asked what happened to the service charge. And the multiple personal attacks on me since, accusing me of defamation when I had merely stated in my review what the representative of the business had told us both at the time, are frankly unnecessary and distasteful. The business had my contact details from the reservation, they could instead have calmly contacted me to discuss my grievance, and corrected the information they had previously supplied. "This is a good coffee stop in very middle of York. Clean tidy and good staff. There are a few outside tables as well as an upstairs area. The downstairs is usually incredibly crowded. Takeaway is often the best option. Food is the same as every Pret. Goodish quality and often a welcome break. The soup is highly recommended."

"this is probably the best pret in edinburgh and is certainly superior to the burg street filiale. in my experience has before the worst coffee one of the main escaping powers. it is worse than Starbucks-Muck and even mcdonalds is better. the sandwich I had was good, but they are more expensive than brand and spencer products that are just as good. "Went into the Broadmead Bristol Pret yesterday with a friend. We picked up our sandwiches, crisps and a drink each and placed them on the counter. We were totally ignored while 3 staff members stood behind the counter, one was working the coffee machine, the other two I'm not sure what they were doing. They did not say a word, then a lady walks in to the place, walks right up beside us and she is asked what she would like! Unforgivable in a customer service environment. The server who totally ignored us was taller, dark hair tied back and spoke with a foreign accent. We left our food on the counter top and walked out. Went to Cafe Amore across the street now they have the best customer service and cheaper food so we will go to there from now on."

"I enjoy going to this pret as I love the food and sitting in however unfortunately I can never get a seat to eat my lunch I’ve brought from pret. Everyday the seats get taken up by the sixth formers who sit there for hours and aren’t told to leave! Fair enough if they buy a drink or something to eat but today there were several students taking up the biggest tables upstairs with their own food and drink, meaning that myself and others who had brought pret food and paid to sit in could not get a seat. It’s a shame as I love getting my lunch from pret but will have to stop as it’s really unfair that they’re not told to leave when they’re not buying anything."

"no complain about food, although the falafel and halloumi cheese hot packs, the package was on the pappe and hard to get! but very tasty. coffee ordinary standard- very good tables were not cleaned unless the floor was dirty, peeled...with eating with the table base look dirty. obviously is not a deep cleaning in a long time. the dust and brush left in the middle of the ess zone. there was a team leader, but she has no attention to the condition of the esszone. very disappointed by the cleanliness"

"a translation of the name of the shop pret a manger would probably be ready to eat. a nice take-off joint where the food is ready to be served. all they have to do is pick up their preference and get it billed. they can either sit and take it or take it away. there are different types of sandwiches with sorts of meat. it is difficult to choose something specifically. since I prefer meat over fish, I have made from chicken or lamb. a beautiful experience."

"I often visit this Pret when coming up to visit my parents on the Quays. I must say this store really stands out in terms of the customer service, the staff are always so friendly and welcoming. I have been impressed by how efficient my visits have been, I have never had to wait for more than a couple of minutes for my order, and even in the busy periods (especially lunch time) the staff remain calm, friendly and attentive. The coffee is fab and I highly recommend the bacon and cheese twists! I have visited a number of times now, and got to know a couple of the staff memebers Ewa, Isaac. Nichola, Wai Wai, Marcia and Waylon always super friendly and I enjoy popping in on my visits to the Quays. Despite not visiting too often as I live down South, the staff always remember me and it feels very special that a big chain has retained its own sparkle of individuality. It is definitely the staff who make this store! With this being said, I was very disappointed to see the store manage, Agi, is no longer there. As the store manager she was the glue that held everyone together, and as a customer you could see how much the staff respected her and it was a lovely working environment. I was extremely saddened to hear that she is no longer at this particular branch. I do hope on my next visit she has returned and that I will be able to have a nice chat with her and the rest of the Pret team!"
