"It's such a great restaurant! The atmosphere is very nice and vibrant! I love the decor with the nice positive quotes. There are tables inside and outside with a lovely river view. We were greeted and seated almost immediately for lunch. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We ordered aryan, which was so delicious, I even ordered a second glass. It will be nice if they offer it in a big jug, it's that good! I offered a few mezes, which were all delicious. The humus comes with fluffy pita bread, shrimps were so succulent, and the kisir had an interesting taste, which I really enjoyed. My partner ordered the chicken tava, which was huge served with very well seasoned leafy salad and fluffy rice. I had to help him with the portion, and we still couldn't finish it. It was so delicious, reminded me of my mom's cooking. I will come back for this dish for sure! Our friend really enjoyed the vegetarian moussaka, which was also quite a big portion. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough! We will definitely be back. Thank you for the great experience!"

"Lovely staff, very friendly and welcoming. Accommodating and helpful with meal suggestions. Food was hot and so tasty. Portion sizes were great too. Cocktails were amazing such fancy penetration and tasted sooo good ! Ambience was lovely and calm, not noisey. Such a lovely restaurant. Would deffo go again and recommend it. On another note I would say that there aren’t that many gluten free options 1 gluten free starter and 2 gluten free mains. It was sad they had no gluten free desserts. As someone who is gluten free I did feel limited but what was available was so filling and tasted great."

"This is a good coffee stop in very middle of York. Clean tidy and good staff. There are a few outside tables as well as an upstairs area. The downstairs is usually incredibly crowded. Takeaway is often the best option. Food is the same as every Pret. Goodish quality and often a welcome break. The soup is highly recommended."

"The food is good, standard-issue Pret fare and if that alone were being reviewed, this branch would scare a solid three-to-four stars. The problem is that kids from the nearby Isaac Newton sixth form college swoop in packs at lunchtimes, take over the space, nick all the spare chairs, spread out their laptops and linger for ages with a single coffee or juice per table while chewing through food they 've brought in from Greggs or McDonalds. I 've been caught out a few times and it 's extremely annoying to pay eating in rates and then find there is nowhere to sit. The loos are pretty grotty, too, which may not be unrelated to the issue above. I appreciate it might be a difficult issue for staff to resolve but this branch has to decide whether its a community hub or catering for customers who 've actually parted with more than a couple of quid."

"No complaints about food though the falafel and halloumi cheese hot wraps, the wrap was stuck to the cardboard and hard to get to! But very tasty. Coffee usual standard- very good Tables were not cleaned unless requested and the floor was dirty , littered with food with the table base looking filthy.Obviously no deep cleaning done in a long time. the dustpan and brush left in the middle of the eating area. There was a team manager around but she paid no attention to the state of the eating area. Very disappointed with level of cleanliness"

"A translation of the name of the shop Pret A Manger would probably be Ready to Eat . A nice take away joint where food is ready to be served. All you need to do is to pick up your preference and get it billed. You can either sit and have it or take it away. There are a different kinds of sandwiches with varieties of meat. It is difficult to pick anything specifically. Since I prefer meat over fish, I tried sarnies made of chicken or lamb. Overall, a nice experience."

Despite arriving just before closing with our children (our own fault for being late), they were still able to prepare the most delicious shark chicken I have ever had. "I often visit this Pret when coming up to visit my parents on the Quays. I must say this store really stands out in terms of the customer service, the staff are always so friendly and welcoming. I have been impressed by how efficient my visits have been, I have never had to wait for more than a couple of minutes for my order, and even in the busy periods (especially lunch time) the staff remain calm, friendly and attentive. The coffee is fab and I highly recommend the bacon and cheese twists! I have visited a number of times now, and got to know a couple of the staff memebers Ewa, Isaac. Nichola, Wai Wai, Marcia and Waylon always super friendly and I enjoy popping in on my visits to the Quays. Despite not visiting too often as I live down South, the staff always remember me and it feels very special that a big chain has retained its own sparkle of individuality. It is definitely the staff who make this store! With this being said, I was very disappointed to see the store manage, Agi, is no longer there. As the store manager she was the glue that held everyone together, and as a customer you could see how much the staff respected her and it was a lovely working environment. I was extremely saddened to hear that she is no longer at this particular branch. I do hope on my next visit she has returned and that I will be able to have a nice chat with her and the rest of the Pret team!"
