"directly over running horse this little cocktailbar reminds of another glamours southern julip bar! pictures of jockey’s and kentucky derby- Esque-Stylings, the whip makes for a simple, quiet place for talks about wonderful drinks. cozy chairs and plush decoration make really for a stick-around' kind of evening. regarding drinks, their Julip menu is to go away. not very expensive one piece), each julip grabbed a stamp and was made professional. I had the fog cutter julip (rum, gin, sherry, orgeat, orange and limette), while my friends tried the whip julep (gin, apple, earl grey) and the traditional mint julep. I tried a bit of their drinks and must say bravo all...read more"

"I went to the Bird in Hand on July 9th with two family members. The tables were nicely spaced out, so we didn't feel crowded. The service was quick and the staff were very friendly. We all ordered roast dinners, two lamb and one chicken. The portions were generous, beautifully presented, and served hot. In addition to the vegetables on the plate, we also received a dish of cauliflower and broccoli. For dessert, we all enjoyed the strawberry Eton Mess, which was delicious - not too sweet or tart. Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitely be returning."

"We had a wonderful meal at The Curry Room I very highly recommend and we will be returning again soon! Treat yourself to an exceptional meal here from the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty! The atmosphere is old world luxury, the food is devine and the service was impeccable! Chef and staff went above and beyond to accommodate our party of 6 and the food was the best Indian I’ve ever eaten. This place is a hidden gem and well worth every pound spent!"

"Visited koko for my birthday dinner and I have to say its one of the best asian restaurants I have been to. The food is amazing and the service is perfect. Sushmita was so pleasant and lovely. We had the best experience with her ! Conpliments to the chef as well because the food was absolutely delicious. Cannot say it enough times that this restaurant needs a Michelin accreditation! Will definitely go back. Service: Dine in"

"I have gone to the Garibaldi many times especially under the previous owners who always provided a warm welcome and delicious food 7 days a week. Unfortunately under the new management I have to write a very poor review of a so called Sunday roast and very poor service too. A bit like Fawlty Towers that was filmed around the corner in Bourne End. When I first arrived it took ages for someone to come and ask what we wanted to drink and we were then left for 15 minutes before I had to ask if someone would take my food order. We both went for the large roasts turkey and beef with side vegetables. A couple of locals walk in get drinks and service snd their roasts before us, when our vegetables and roasts arrived they were cold and the meat rare. We had to ask for the meat to be reheated. When I was asked if I wanted another drink they did not have any more Merlot. When our food did come back it was just about edible. We were left for ages after we had finished our mains and had to ask for pudding. The apple pie was reasonable but we had to take our empty pudding plates to the bar as we wanted an Irish coffee and after waiting and no one collecting our empty plates we were then told their coffee machine was not working. Please bear in mind this pub only offers home cooked roasts on a Sunday and the rest of the week they get in out sourced caterers. The so-called land lady did not come around to ask if the food was OK or to welcome new clientele and the pub dog is allowed to roam around and sniff your food. Needless to say we will not be returning but we recommend the Cricketers at Littlewick Green for great service and a fabulous Sunday roast."

"The special starter was a small salmon roulade appetiser. Very tasty and well presented. Main course was lamb, deliciously cooked to a delicate pink. It did not come with green vegetables so I ordered a side dish of broccoli and spinach. Both were perfectly cooked. I gave in to a small slice of treacle tart that was worth all the calories. One glass of white wine and sparkling water topped off a delicious meal. It was very expensive at nearly £80.00. The restaurant is in the hub of the Balmer Lawn Hotel and largely open plan located beside the reception. Whilst the restaurant staff are excellent and attentive the restaurant lacked an upmarket restaurant ambiance and decor were not suited for such an expensive meal."

"While the food was tasty and steak was cooked to perfection, the horrible service and very long delays in getting served results in a rare 2 star review. Having read gushing positive reviews about this place, my girlfriend and I.. Tourists from out of town decided to stop by. We called and booked a table for 2 at 630pm. We arrived at 620pm and we're promptly seated. The evening is looking great. Then things started to go downhill. It took us 15 mins to get our orders taken..with 2 tables who arrived after us being served first by the pony tailed sole waitresses there. I waved her down and politely informed her we were ready to order, but was told in a somewhat mocking demeanor that she would be right with me. It took her another 10mins to get back to us. The 2 items we wanted to order.. Ribs and and the risotto were not available. No one told us in advance. Big letdown. To add salt to the wound, the one low alcohol beer on the menu also wasn't available. Food took even longer to arrive. We waited 40 mins before both our burger and steak arrived. Though the taste was good and portions were generous, the accompanying sauce was way too little for a steak of that size. Although my cutlery was swapped out to include a serrated knife, my partner wasn't even given a steak knife. She relied on a bread knife to cut her burger. We asked for water and I made it clear we wanted hot water. We were served a water jug with cold water. End of the night, we can't help feeling very frustrated at the quality of service and long food wait times. We weren't the only ones. We noticed other tables too incurred at least 30 min wait times for food. Perhaps we are an Asian couple.. Was this the reason our table was skipped not once but twice in getting orders taken? One can't help but to draw conclusions. Given the chance, we won't be back again. There are many other establishments in the area worth exploring. With hopefully better table service. If you decide to come here, come very early and hopefully you're of the right skin color to receive proper table service that deserves your hard earned money. And be prepared for long wait times for your food. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2"

"If you like a good Sunday Lunch with friendly service and a nice atmosphere then the Greenman Pub is the place for you. We last visited in march just a week before you know what happened so we've had to wait a while before we could return. That day we enjoyed a great sunday roast which is exactly what we were treated to once again today. This visit was a little bit different to the last time as the dining area we was in before as had to be turned into a table service bar area. We received a friendly welcome from all the staff on arrival before filling out our details in the book. We were then escorted to our table on the opposite side of the pub from last time into what used to be used for when there very busy or functions. The menu has a nice selection of starters , roasts , fish , vegetarian and of course desserts. We started with the Mussels in a white wine cream shallot sauce and the Avocado Prawns in a seafood sauce with salad. Now it was time for our roasts which I have to say are a hearty size. We chose the Turkey and the Lamb that came with vegetables , yorkshires , roast potatoes , pigs in blankets and stuffing. For desserts we chose the Banana Fritters with cream ice cream and a delicious Sticky Toffee Pudding with hot Devon custard. We finished with a coffee to end a fabulous Sunday lunch. The food is good and a hearty size. All the staff are very friendly which creates a lovely atmosphere. I would highly recommend a visit and I personally will look forward to many more visits in the future. #SupportHospitality"

"Fabulous meal for our wedding anniversary weekend, at one of our favourite places in the area. We shared tiger prawns to start which were covered in the lightest batter I’ve ever had. Our venison ragout was exceptional and the vegetables delicious. We couldn’t manage a pudding so I had coffee which was also rather tasty. Good selection of wine, and drinks from the bar. The restaurant is very prettily decorated, the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, the staff are friendly and helpful, service is quick but not rushed, in all making this a lovely place to be. We visited again on 30 December and have once again enjoyed a stunning meal. We love this place! Our tiger prawn starter was just as good as our previous visit, my seafood risotto was divine and my husband’s Moroccan Chicken was amazing. We had to indulge in desserts and were not disappointed by the cheesecake and lemon chaboust which were both delicious. Can’t wait to visit again soon."

"I had my 60th birthday party here one sunday in January and it was just perfect. The staff at The Angel were brilliant and made everything go smoothly and especially Will the manager who arranged the menu for me. we also had a small party in the garden couple of years ago and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Looking forward to the next one,"

"Absolutely fantastic food, with great attention to flavour and texture that was completely unexpected. Not tonnes of options as a vegetarian, but what I had (cheese souffle, mushroom soup) was *absolutely* delicious and I would order the exact same again. Incredible desserts, wonderful service, and the best (rhubarb) negroni I've had. Truly a joy! Would go back in a heartbeat. Vegetarian options: 2 3 vegetarian dishes per starter and main. I preferred the starter options so had a couple of those as my main instead and did not regret it!"

"SOGGY BOTTOM! I had a craving for pie! After surgery the previous week, I needed comfort food as any form of distraction from my pain. After a long time searching on Google for lunchtime venues to eat what I wanted, I decided the Bolton Arms would be great for lunch. My husband and I had not been there for a number of years where we previously had a fabulous dinner so it was time to visit again. Also, I didn’t want a corporate chain run group of pubs/restaurants bulk buying produce to ‘turbo’ in giant ovens. No, I wanted homemade real food. Reading the present menu homemade pie was advertised so I rang the Bolton Arms to confirm this item would be available and it was. We went for lunch. Drinks were ordered at the bar which we took to our table, then after a little longer than would have liked our food order was taken. Our food arrived after quite a long time. My pie steaming hot … but where’s the meat? I was presented with a solid hard topped pastry shell with just a minimal of ham hock meat (I was advised it was ham hock) which was drowning in an indescribable grey/white sauce and accompanied by soft carrots with an odd perfume aftertaste. The cabbage resembled a food stuff my grandmother would have boiled for two weeks! Cutting into this, the pastry base disintegrated leaving a pale soggy pie bottom. Nothing was seasoned. I guess the Chef had the day off! Please see two photos of pies I would expect and the pie I received. I think anyone reading this will distinguish the difference. A couple arrived after us and also ordered the pie. Watching over my husbands’ shoulder, each fork was heaped full of meat with a plate of steaming fresh vegetables. I have been short changed! Being hungry distorts immediate reactions and therefore a complaint at the time was not made. My husband just had a sausage sandwich which was nice – thank you. But for someone who never comments, did tell me he thought my food was pretty dreadful. The Bolton Arms is a traditional pub and listed building. The interior is dark and in desperate need of a little more comfort that would benefit modernising even simple fabrics and décor, but please put the heating on. I know it was lunchtime and only 4 tables were sat but to put my coat back on to keep warm is unacceptable. This pub felt cold, dusty and totally uninviting. Would we return. NO. But in a few years to see if changes have been taken on board. Yes. Good luck for your future The Bolton Arms."

"Last weekend, we visited Both Burgers and Huh a Bark, and it was a delightful experience. The service was excellent; the staff was attentive, helpful, and courteous. The weather was fantastic, so we enjoyed sitting outside for a drink after our meal, which was a lovely way to wrap up a pleasant outing. This was our first visit, but it certainly won't be the last!"

"We were debating about where to have dinner on our last night in the area and ended up booking dinner at Mousetrap. We were not disappointed! The building itself is very cute and we loved the subtle mouse related decor; it as fun to spot them. The food was generous and hearty with a very nice job in the plating creating a lovely first impression. I ordered the spinach and mushroom Pithivier and it was delicious..definitely not something I can get back home. My better half very much enjoyed his chicken. We had just enough room left to share a delicious dessert which also looked great."

"I do not recommend ordering the fresh prawns at this restaurant as they were not fresh at all. They were served cold and seemed to have been recently defrosted, with a strong fishy odor and some unpleasant residue inside. They were served without any lemon or seasoning, only the unpleasant smell. After eating, I had to stop at the store for Imodium as I felt I might become ill. The burger main dish was also disappointing, as it was tasteless, dry, and lacking seasoning. For £14.50, it was not a good value for money, as it only came with a burger and chips, with no slaw or relish. I will not be returning to this restaurant."

"Turned up on spec but was able to get a table for both of us. We ordered from the early bird menu which was £21 for 2 courses £26 for 3) and was genuinely impressed by the food which was really nice. Drinks are a little expensive £3 for a can of coke) but otherwise great value. Pictures inc steak which is a £5 supplement. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4"
