"I initially thought most of the vegetarian items were actually vegetarian and even vegan. Now the restaurant after I've been eating there for years, has created an allergy list. It shows they use prawn paste in the red and green curry. If you go, make sure to specify: no fish sauce, no oyster sauce, no prawn and no crustaceans. A shame I never asked about prawn but only fish oyster and crustaceans : ."

"A gem of a find in Gorleston. Booking is important as this little oasis of fine dining does not open every day. When it is open it gets full and having dined there on Friday night, I understand why. We both had squid to begin, which was tender and crisp. My husband had what he described as the best ribeye steak in his life and I had Halibut cooked like a dream. We then had the lightest most delicious sticky toffee pudding and the cheesecake, both divine. We had a delicious and reasonably priced French Chardonnay to support all of this deliciousness too and were served with kindness and given great advice on our choices. We will definitely back to dine at SW1, as soon as we visit Gorleston on sea and only wish this was our local restaurant as we would dine there every week! Fully recommend this restaurant for cleanliness, food and service."

"This hotel restaurant may be unassuming, but it exceeds expectations with its incredible dishes. It reminds us of the high-quality dining experiences we used to find in abundance in London. Each course we tried was exquisite, with standout dishes like the Asian coleslaw, beef rib, and sticky toffee and banana pudding. The smoked mac 'n cheese was also quite tasty. The menu offers a wide variety of options at a fraction of the cost compared to similar restaurants in London. If you're tired of overpriced pub food and pizzas in London, this is the place to go."

"The food was fantastic, featuring authentic Neapolitan-style pizza made with fresh ingredients. The charming little restaurant, which can only seat 10, is beautifully decorated and creates a cozy atmosphere where you immediately feel at home. I’m thrilled to recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience. Kid-friendliness: They offered a highchair right away and provided thoughtful suggestions for kid-friendly meals. Plus, the interaction between the owner and our son was wonderful. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Oh, we were muddy, wet and probably a bit smelly (back from a rainy walk that took us through a forest and into a cave)... The public room and restaurant look quite nice when you enter the hotel, so I was a little bit apprehensive... I wouldn't have been offended if they'd said lunch wasn't served anymore, just to keep us out. And yet, and yet. We were given a great table, next to a bay window with a beautiful sea view. Service was very kind and efficient. Kids menu was very decent. My fish and chips was really good. The tomato soup was delicious. The restaurant is very nicely decorated. Maps of Arran printed on the lamp shades. Lots of free parking just outside. The cherry on top of the cake? The prices are very reasonable."

"We stopped by on our way home from Quarry Bank Mill and had a lovely evening. Every employee was friendly and cheerful, and we were especially well taken care of by Manager Jake. Our meal was delicious—I was fortunate enough to have the last brat beef, and it was the best roast I've had in a long time. I couldn't resist stealing a bite of my partner's banana soufflé and immediately regretted not ordering one for myself, as it was divine. I loved the ambiance and the friendliness of the pub, and I will definitely return."

"Thanks to the TripAdvisor reviews we booked a table upstairs, which is small but cosy. From the friendly welcome the service was superb throughout and the food was absolutely excellent. We chose the mussels and fishcakes to start followed by a papaya salad, chilli prawn stir fry and a dry prawn curry. All the dishes were delicious and the bill, including a beer, glass of wine, a large bottle of sparkling water and service, was £68. We will definitely return."

"Now, what can I say that this is by far my favorite restaurant where I have ever eaten, the personal is always friendly but not hanging around you, as in many other institutions, they seem to know if you want to serve and if you don't want it! the sunday dinner is not only fantastic price-performance ratio, but the menu changes quickly so that they never know what they will eat, so if they are frequent customers like me, they are not with just a boring menu stuck, it is also great because they have a chance to taste food that they would probably not try anywhere else and I have never had a bad meal there!"

"Went with a bunch of friends for my birthday. Had been to the Aeronaut many years previously for their circus night and it had been incredible. This night was a 'game show ' night. We paid a not inconsiderable sum (about £25 each? to enter an empty room with a couple of lame drag artists. Another table got a couple of people arrive. It got to showtime and the room was completely dead, I 'd checked with the lady on the door and she said it would fill up. Miraculously, about 10 minutes later a load of people flooded in the door. At the bar half way through the evening (which was lame, I was right! I asked a couple of the people at the bar if they 'd paid to come in. No, they hadn 't. I found the woman in charge and asked for a refund. We were basically the only paying punters in there. I found the policy very disingenuous. Over charging mugs like us in advance and then letting about 50 people in for free on the night to fill it?! Thankfully, the only positive thing I could say is, they gave us a refund the next day. Left a sour taste though that was my birthday night ruined at the time."
