"First time at a Carluccio Restaurant and it was ok. Visited with three friends. The food I ordered was really tasty, but one of meals we ordered to share was not and it was the calamari. When we told one of the staff, they were kind enough to take it off the bill as we hardly touched it. So, thank you for that. Other than that, I polished off my meal as I was super hungry after an afternoon walking around the V&A. Hence my four stars. For the staff: please clean the seats as well when clearing the tables as ours still had crumbs from previous guests. Also kindly clean the toilets at least every hour as having toilet paper all over the floor is not a pretty sight. Other than that, keep up the good job."

"We went as a group of 7 for dinner and so glad we tried this restaurant. The decor is slightly amiss but don’t let this put you off as the food and staff were fantastic. Very reasonable prices for such tasty and generous dishes. The staff could not do enough to make our visit a great experience. Everyone in our group had only good things to say which is hard to achieve at times"

"steady. carluccio in smithfield is like a back-up, a reasonable alternative for me when I close to smithfield or comptoir gascon and they are full for a woken breakfast / brunch. this is a quite common hesitation, as sos cg slide the scale higher and are more desirable due to the trendy, more prosperous masses that are more frequent this part of the city. but we should not think less of the local carluccio. it has been shown to Italian cafe food of a steady quality. yes, the deli items in front of the shop are overpriced, but there is a focus on regional specialities, and it is a convenient holding point for mozzarella, ricotta, parma ham, dried porcini, risotto rice, tinted fish and saffron if they cannot find it elsewhere. the inner of this branch is light and airy, with high ceilings and a very relaxed feeling, making it ideal for a long brunch with friends and some wash papers. Coffee and baked are decent, the full breakfast is not bad for £8.50 that contains coffee juice, plus it grilled pancetta instead of fat speck. nice! it is also one of the rare places in london that makes bicerin. there are no pizzas here, but the pasta is again decent. I like the ricotta spinat ravioli served simply in sage butter. pasta here is actually cooked to al dente. I also like their thick, peasy pasta e fagioli (pasta beane) but not so sharp on their meek-watery mushroom soup. the menu changes with the season and there are daily specialties that are for a chain, is nice to see."

"Whilst we had booked a 2.15pm table, knowing that the restaurant closed at 4pm, we did not expect to have hurry our meal throughout. Whilst it started off well in being provided with a reasonable table, the young man waiting on our table, had obviously had no proper ‘waiting’ training and proceeded to ounce on our table to clear even before we had finished! Doing this with a poker face and lack of interest, plus leaning across the table as we tried to eat, left all of us feeling edgy and in no mood to enjoy the food which was of reasonable standard. The whole experience was akin to a fast food restaurant but a darn sight more expensive!"

"Absolutely appalling!! Booked as a treat for myself and 3 family members as I have been to other Marco Pierre restaurants and have always had a fantastic experience. The menu was small simplistic so we were expecting the food to be cooked to a high standard. Instead the food was very bland and not well cooked and we all said we could have cooked better food at home. Our orders were mixed up brought out in the wrong order and the staff were in-experienced and extremely rude. The waitress then started clearing our table when one of the party was still eating and rolled her eyes at me when I asked if she could please wait until we had all finished. She then returned minutes later and bluntly asked ‘do you want deserts or the bill’. We were then rushed off of the table despite the fact that the restaurant was pretty quite and we still had half a bottle of wine to finish. The cheek of it is that we then had to pay the 12.5% service charge for this **** experience! If it hadn’t been for the fact that another member of the group paid the bill, I would have refused to pay the full amount and walked out. Do not waste you money or time here- this ruined our evening and next time we will go round the corner to Zizi’s and have a much better meal experience!!"

"The restaurant space was dark and gloomy we were the only diners in our largish area, there was no atmosphere and any ambience was lacking. It needs to be more informal and welcoming. It felt dowdy and corporate, not living up to its name of The Neighbourhood. The menu was interesting and the portions generous The starter of prawns were good. I had fish and chips The batter was stodgy and bready, the chips were overly large and unappetising. My partner had salmon broth and it was was a generous portion and very tasty. We had a delicious side salad. All in all the food was fine but something needs to be done with the decor and surroundings to make it more attractive. It is competing with some other very trendy places in the vibrant community of Bruntsfield"

"Went for lunch with my family, have to say the 2 star rating is not for the food or the server who helped us. The two star review is for the manager on duty, he was crowding our server, ordering her about and generally micro managing her. His attitude and manner was aggressive, he was throwing bottles in the recycling bins and generally bringing attention to himself in a loud and obnoxious way. So clearly he had issues that day but instead of taking a 10 minute time out he instead took it out on a server and gave us a show we didn't appreciate. We checked that the server was okay because quite frankly he was completely invading her space. So if you want to watch someone have a temper tantrum and constantly walk back and forth go there the food was great. For us, with a 10 year old we didn't much appreciate it. BTW I have been a manager for 25 years, and would never treat staff like that."

"Previously having been to a Carluccio's in Leamington Spa I believe, and the experience being amazing, I was excited to return in hope of the same amazing service. However, it was not as so. We were kept waiting a long time for our table, having waiters and waitresses walk past us, blanking us completely. We were finally show to our table, but to be honest, it felt kind of hostile. It really felt that they didn't want us there. Our however waiter was nice, and he took time to recommend us dishes and tell us about any deals going on. The food came quickly, but sadly, it wasn't the right kind of quick. I had the Seafood Linguine, and it was raw. Some of the mussels hadn't opened up, so I kept those on the side of the plate. But at the time I didn't believe they would serve me something less than edible, so I ate the rest. The next day, I had food poisoning, and I chucked my guts up. It wasn't pleasant. The other Carluccio's was an experience to remember, and so was this one, but for all the wrong reasons."

"I would absolutely love this place if they offered breakfast menu options all day along with their regular menu. I adore breakfast, and sometimes all I need is a couple of poached eggs with a side of mushrooms and kale, paired with a large coffee. If they could offer poached eggs throughout the day, they should provide both menus to customers when they sit down. That is the only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5."

"The warm welcome we received as soon as we entered was absolutely delightful, especially after our not-so-great experience at the other café. It truly made our morning! Our two hungry children were spoiled with attention and exceptional hospitality from the two young waitresses. The food was fantastic, with dishes like eggs royale, pastries, and hazelnut toast that we all enjoyed. As a bonus, we received a 20% discount on our purchases from the deli and a voucher for a free bottle of wine if we returned in the evening. So, it turns out that every cloud has a silver lining. Thank you, Daughter Café, for being such a disappointment; otherwise, we might never have discovered this little gem!"

"I recently stopped by this restaurant looking for a light snack, specifically coffee and cake. I ended up enjoying a beautiful latte paired with a passion fruit pastry. The coffee was excellent, smooth and not bitter or sour. The pastry was a bit sharper than I expected due to the passion fruit cream, but still a light and refreshing dessert. The interior of the restaurant is airy, spacious, and beautiful, with a casual yet smart atmosphere. The main entrance is wheelchair accessible, but the back entrance has a few steps. There is also a lovely outdoor area with sun umbrellas. Since it was a quiet day, the service was fast and the staff were pleasant. Although my original order of affogato was mistakenly served as a latte, I was satisfied with the latte and did not mention the error. Overall, it was a worthwhile stop and I would definitely return for a proper meal."

"I had a very enjoyable time at this restaurant. It's conveniently located next to the railway station and car park for Calverley, making it easy to access. The atmosphere is great and quite romantic with dimmed lighting. The food is delicious with a good variety at a reasonable price. The service is excellent, with polite and well-groomed staff. Additionally, there is a unique shop at the front of the restaurant."

"Visited many Carluccios before. Friday evening, busy and very noisy! Did not need 'background ' music for sure. children were running around the tables, OK parents fault but staff maybe could have a word?? Seats for two on top of each other, OK to pack diners in but really , who wants to sit so close and listen and have other people listening to your conversation? When will restaurants learn?? Ravioli was very tough, no moisture or texture, very disappointing. House wine good value (tucked away in the middle of the wine list! Did not have coffee, could not wait to get out actually, what should have been a relaxing evening certainly was not!"

"My family visits this café for hot drinks and cakes almost every weekend! With four siblings, we bring quite a crowd, but from our very first visit, the staff has always been incredibly welcoming and friendly. The food is consistently excellent, and we hardly ever have to wait long because their service is very efficient. The atmosphere is lovely, and since we go there so frequently, they already know our usual orders and even ask how our week has been!"
"A quite nice place to dine. We stopped by for a late-night one-course meal, and both the food and service were quite impressive. They were still happy to serve us just before 10 PM, even though the restaurant was emptying out at that time. I would recommend the Sea Bass, which we both enjoyed. Each of us received two generous fillets without any bones—very nice! The portion sizes were satisfactory, and the prices were reasonable, especially for a central location. We also found the drinks to be fairly priced. The service was prompt and attentive, with friendly staff providing just the right level of care."

"I have always received excellent service at Carluccio's in Leeds Trinity. I frequently stop by after work and enjoy the fantastic coffee made by a bar employee named Will. He is always friendly and engaging in conversation. The food is fresh, beautifully presented, and captures the essence of traditional Italian cuisine with its balanced and vibrant flavors."

"A bit on the pricey side. The minute steak was was ok. The garlic potatoes was average (similar to thicker homefries with slight garlic flavour). The highlight of the meal is the appetizers. The meatballs were on point and the rice balls were superb. Staff needed a bit of warming up to but got friendlier once the meal came closer to an end..."
