"The restaurant space was dark and gloomy we were the only diners in our largish area, there was no atmosphere and any ambience was lacking. It needs to be more informal and welcoming. It felt dowdy and corporate, not living up to its name of The Neighbourhood. The menu was interesting and the portions generous The starter of prawns were good. I had fish and chips The batter was stodgy and bready, the chips were overly large and unappetising. My partner had salmon broth and it was was a generous portion and very tasty. We had a delicious side salad. All in all the food was fine but something needs to be done with the decor and surroundings to make it more attractive. It is competing with some other very trendy places in the vibrant community of Bruntsfield"

The menu offered a great variety, and the staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The food was tasty and served in generous portions, and I was delighted to find a Scottish beer on tap! Everything was enjoyable, but the highlight was definitely the personal touch from the staff!

we've eaten a few times here and it was great every time. there is a very good selection of choices for vegetarian as well as fish and meat. I personally like her burger and my wife the fish and chips. the personal is really friendly and offers a good, intrusive service and eating came out very timely; we didn't feel hurry, nor had we wait too long. all in a very pleasant night with friends.
