"My family talked me into having my 70th birthday party on the top floor of the cube. I wasn’t sure it would be the right venue given my age and believing Poulton on a Saturday night was for the young. Couldn’t have been more wrong. We had a fabulous night. The staff were fantastic, so friendly and efficient. The ambience was perfect and food really good too. Our guests came from all over the country and ranged in age from 2 to 77! Everyone had a great time and we are still talking about it! Antonia was so helpful at every stage of the planning. We chose the party package which included room hire, canapé buffet and a drink on arrival. Excellent value for money! Would highly recommend to anyone and definitely use again should another occasion arise."

"My first time having breakfast it was delicious and so fresh. Service was amazing. I think the girls name was amy. I lost my wee bit of paper with her name on it, so sorry about that. I was I think 1 or 2 minutes late, and she spoke with the manager he gave her the all-clear to put it through, so thank you to you too. I have not had a big breakfast for ages. I just took a notion for it and could not believe it. You can have a lot of coffee as you want too, which I finished off with some short bread. Thank you for excellent service and to the chef breakfast. Amazing, I am telling everyone about it. Great value for money. Defo will be back again. Veronica Watson"

"We visited IOW for my boyfriends birthday and we visited on a Tuesday. As soon as we walked in we were greeted very warmly by the guys they were so welcoming. Everything was explained to us and they really could not have been more helpful. I'm gutted to say I didn't catch all of their names but the guys who we saw that day really made our experience of visiting a games cafe for the first time one we will never forget. There was one particular guy, aaron (I hope I have spelled this correctly! And my goodness he was so helpful with how to play games and always checking if we were OK. He is a complete asset to this business! We stayed there pretty much all day. The range of games they have is incredible, the place itself is kept so clean. The cocktails are amazing! Particularly the ticket to ride (Woo Woo we also ate here, we had the Cuban baguette which my bf had and he said it was one of the nicest baguettes he's ever had. I had the philly steak on wedges, absolutely delicious. We will be visiting the IOW again in the near future and we will 100% be returning. If you are looking for a very relaxed place to sit and forget about the world outside whilst playing some amazing boardgames, and have some of the friendliest people cater to you this is your place. "Monday lunchtime, and it was handy so my friend and I went there. Staff were lovely but table had not been wiped down. Food came. My burger was hard as rock and no flavour. Whisky sauce cold and congealed. Chips and onion rings were good, freshly cooked and hot. Disabled toilet was awful. Everyone was using it rather than go upstairs, which I can't being disabled. It was filthy and no water from tap. If it wasn't for the friendly, helpful staff it wouldn't have as many stars."

"Popped in for a sunday roast about 3.30 in the afternoon. Probably not the best time, as it seems the food may have been cooked much earlier and been waiting for us to arrive. Menu a bit sparce for sunday roasts, so we opted for the roast turkey. Not fresh cooked turkey as we thought, but something pressed and out of a packet or tin, at a guess. The roast potatoes with overcooked burnt edges had been kept warm for some time we thought, as were most of the vegetables. Bits of the broccoli were quite hard too. Carrots, cauli, peas and gravy great but got cold quick. Everything got cold quite quickly, and although there was quite a sizeable portion, but it was late in the day and even the plates were cold, subsequently the meal got cold quickly .... shame. Might have said it was good value for money had we been earlier, when all was fresh and hot. Beer was very good, as was the service.. Thanks to the staff. I think the whole experience needs a bit of a look at to improve. Sorry, not the most enjoyable meal we've ever had."

"If you are looking for something other than the mundane monotony then this place offers that. A we'll set out bistro/restaurant with plenty of seating upstairs and downstairs. They have a separate vegan menu which is always good to see and alternative milks on offer. It can be a bit pricey but once a a while it is worth the extra. The staff are very friendly and are normally on point unless it is very busy, which it can get at times. They also serve alcoholic beverages for those who want a wee dram or wine with their meal, which can be nice. The food is good and staff know what their products are if you have any questions. Also nice if you want to pop in for a pot of tea and admire the amount of Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber drivers all rushing in and out of the well known burger joint opposite. A big thumbs up for this place from me."

"I just wanted to leave a review as I came to the Briar Rose for drinks and food on Saturday 24th June and I had never been in Brum before and my friends and I wanted to go somewhere for drinks in the evening. So we started at the spoons as it’s familiar the food was lovely as expected for spoons but the staff were superb! Even when I was nervous about eating my beyond burger that (of course) looked suspiciously like meat but I wanted to sing the praises of Connor who worked the bar with a grin and a falsetto song! I asked if he could point us in the direction of somewhere with live music so we could have a dance and I had the most wholesome conversation about live music and the place he recommended was amazing he really set us up for an incredible night! "Upon arrival the table with our name on was wet, previous customers glasses still there and an empty silver cutlery pot. I had to remove the glasses myself and dry table with a serviette. Also on the table was a reserved from 8pm by someone else. Which put pressure on straight away meaning we couldn’t just relax and enjoy but had to rush things along. Ordering food was easy the girl that served us at the bar took our order and the food came out perfectly. The food was cooked perfectly for all on the table and we enjoyed with no complaints at all. 3 of the table ordered desserts and they all came out individually. The time from first dessert to the 2nd was a few minutes but then the 3rd dessert did not appear for around 5 mins and actually had to go back to the bar to ask about it. Again this only increased pressure to hurry. We have been several times over the last few months, and as this was my son’s birthday we invited grandparents to join us. Sadly we would not do this again. We will still continue to visit for just a couple of hours out but for a special occasion or group booking I would not recommend and would go elsewhere."

"My partner and I visited this restaurant twice during our 24-hour stay in Cardiff Bay. The location is fantastic, surrounded by many other restaurants. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always had a smile on their faces. We had breakfast in the morning and a quick stop for some beers in the evening. We easily found a table, ordered our food and drinks through an app, and received them within 3-5 minutes. The service was excellent with no wait at the bar. The food was delicious, fresh, hot, and very tasty. The prices were very reasonable, which always makes us want to come back."

"almost perfect in terms of what we needed to do, almost. positiw: the pub (a greene king pub) has a good menu that was quite extensive for a Sunday, including both a frying option and the normal pub tariff. inside the pub felt spacious, with large tables that are beautifully spaced apart. everything seemed clean and the decor was nice. for us a clean high chair was overhauled. hand gel dispenser on the wall. clean toilets and baby changing facilities. bbacky warehouse and outdoor climbing frames were appreciated and were a good value. cake and hot drink offer for just £2.99 seemed extremely reasonable in wacky warehouse the brownie, millionaire shortbread and cirsch bakes were so good we bought more to take home! negatiw: we ordered a total of four meals. only one of them was released hot. all the others were cold when they came out. we thought the three meal times would have stayed on the side while they cooked the fourth? a real shame, because otherwise the meals were beautiful: fresh ingredients and well presented. over all, we would definitely return, but will cross our fingers that eating is hot next time."

"This restaurant is a fantastic spot to enjoy breakfast after an early walk with your dog. Today, I was served by Darren, Dan, and Eliana. I had my favorite dish, the brown bread roast, along with a latte. The latte was so perfect for a chilly morning, and the bread they use is top-notch. It's a lovely place to start your day with a delicious meal. What really sets this place apart for me is the friendly and personable staff. Plus, they are dog-friendly. "Me and my partner stayed in one of the rooms here over the weekend and it was lovely. Spacious room and bathroom with large shower (big enough for two. Good size TV mounted on the wall and a comfortable bed. Kettle, milk, sugar, tea coffee were also provided in the room with some little biscuits. We was on the third floor so didn't hear any noise from below and it's literally opposite town center so you have shops food places nearby. My only issue was the feather pillows so annoying and kept waking up with neck ache. All in all, for £56 a night, it was a bargain!"

"I booked this venue in January for July. They said they could provid cattering for gluten free and vegetarian guests, and the deposit would be £750, £250 being for food and the rest refundable if minimum spend was reached. 2 weeks before the party, I sent 5 messages and emails over 6 days trying to confirm catering for dietary restrictions, which received no reply. After having to contact Tagvenue for help, Fountain Tap finally responded 9 days before the event informing me they could no longer provide the booked catering but suggested I order pizza or arrange ny own catering. There were no affordable catering options on 9 days notice, which was why I booked the venue 7 months in advance. I had to find an entirely new venue, which luckily I did thanks to Tagvenue, who also assisted in helping me recover the deposit the Fountain Tap failed to return in a timely manner. This venue's communication and reliability are abysmal. Avoid. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"the big porn is a big pub my twin brother step and I decided in how we pub hopping around byker, a big wetherspoon pub, that was a big sound. named after a whisky, the pub is excellent, typical wetherspoon decor...and furniture, a solid wood can be served dominates the main room, print and photos decorate the walls and there are many sitting possibilities in this pub both inside and outside in their yard to relax its large wetherspoon pub. we were here on a Monday afternoon, we grabbed a table, were my brother on the bar and ordered a fish chips meal each and for our drinks gins, tonic was absolutely superb, so delicious, very refreshing on a hot afternoon while we arrived our gins our meal times and what a leak. a large fish, slightly broken, beautifully seasoned, chips were plentiful and tasty, just a really good, filling meal, just what we needed, together with our gins for a great culinary experience made in a cool wetherspoon pub. After we finished our meal and our drink, we ordered a real ale, we chose both sharps brewery dom the high main pub is easy to find along the sheilds road. Opening times are: Monday to Thursday, until Friday Saturday, until midnight. Sunday, until a great Wetherspoon Pub, definitely worth checking if they are in the opposite."

"This restaurant experience was absolutely terrible. We had to ask five times for our desserts to come out. When my dessert finally arrived, it was still in the wrapper. I had to ask twice for spoons, and then for a plate. Despite ordering extra custard, I had to ask for it twice. The manager came over but didn't do anything to resolve the situation other than offer a refund. He claimed the extra custard was on a different dessert. I would not recommend visiting this place unless you absolutely have to. Avoid at all costs."
