"We dined at this restaurant in September while staying at Kenwood House Hotel. Due to the current Covid situation, we had to register upon arrival. We had some trouble finding a table due to the crowd, but eventually settled in a corner with a screen between us and the next table. Despite social distancing guidelines, a group of young people sat nearby and were loud and disruptive. We were uncomfortable and ended up moving to a quieter table near the garden exit. The food was average, but reasonably priced, and the drinks were good value. Unfortunately, the lack of safety measures and disruptive atmosphere made for a unpleasant dining experience. We hope to see improvements in the future before considering a return visit."
"This is the best Wetherspoons pub in Newcastle. I met friends here when I arrived in Newcastle and we had a great time sitting outside shooting the breeze, having a laugh and catching up over a few beers. I went back the next morning for breakfast and a couple of beers while waiting for mates to arrive a wee bit later. I found the staff to be very and efficient so I'm a wee bit at a loss where earlier reviews comment on rude and unhelpful staff, but each to their own I suppose. I'd happily recommend this pub to anyone visiting Newcastle it was busy on both days that I visited, mostly populated by locals which is always a good sign and recommendation."

"Went to this venue with a few friends having seen it was rated #1 in the local area. Food I got a tomahawk steak with all the usual extras. It was decent. Best steak I’ve had, no, but was cooked well. Sauce didn’t blow me away. Main itself was good but not mind blowing. Got sticky toffee for dessert and again, it was good, but not overwhelming. Service we had to prompt the staff to ask for dessert which wasn’t ideal. Atmosphere they had a live singer. He was decent but didn’t really add any real value to the experience. Overall A decent enough venue with above average food. Is it worthy of the best restaurant in the town. Probably not. Would recommend for casual dining but for a special occasion I’d venture elsewhere"

"A nice place for a pint of Innis Gunn which was cold and hit the spot. Service from the staff was good, especially the young man who gave in depth knowledge on the drinks available and the local area. I chose to have burger and chips on this visit and although the burger itself was very nice i thought that better baps which did not fall apart would have sealed the experience. The pub has a nice atmosphere and is quite cooling even with sunshine present (a plus). Worth a visit."

"I visited family in London from Ireland, and we mostly stuck around Islington to minimise travelling around cus of the whole covid concerns. The Bull had *the* best vibe of anywhere we went in Islington, had really good music, fantastic drinks and very friendly staff....Special shout out to Alex who was a great personality serving us for the evening, made a delicious drinks recommendation and also saved the night when one of our group left their scarf behind (one that they have had for like years or something) and Alex came running down the road to find us and return the scarf! Bartender of the year "

"I had made a reservation for around 7:30 in the evening to participate in the Harry Potter quiz at a restaurant. I ordered a pink lemonade and was shocked to witness a new employee (who mentioned it was only her second shift) being treated poorly by her boss, who threw a set of keys at her. The girl looked overwhelmed and I felt sorry for her just watching the situation. I hope that the staff at this restaurant are treated better because what I saw was really not okay. The new employee made a delicious pink lemonade, and I didn't mind the wait due to the circumstances she was dealing with."

"There was a lovely atmosphere there when we arrived, it was clean and tidy. The staff were welcoming, helpful and very friendly throughout. After looking through a lovely and varied menu, it was difficult to settle on one choice, as there were so many dishes that sounded great, we ordered our meals and were asked if we had any allergens or special dietary requirements, my partner had the steak frites (she had the steak medium and it was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing and that's from a head chef of 23 years! , I had the slow cooked Goan lamb curry and rice and this was also excellent. The atmosphere in the place was lovely and it was not overly busy and as we ate and enjoyed our evening, we watched the other different meals that were coming from the kitchen and they all looked very nice indeed. The staff were always busy serving, clearing tables and going around the tables asking everyone if their food was ok and if there was anything else they wanted and needed, (they weren't standing around chatting or on their phones similar to so many other places today. We couldn't fault the place, the meal or the staff and would highly recommend others to eat here and I'm sure they will enjoy themselves, just as we did."

"during a Thursday lunch time, the place looked quieter than it should be, but I was greeted with a friendly member of the staff and I had to choose where I could sit. I got several options to order, I went with the QR code on the table for convenience sake. but I am glad that the possibility of table service is also there. eating was amazing! good tasting, juicy burger cooked with the meat to perfection, I think it was worth the price in all honesty. also the part of the sweet potato friars was more than I expected, which is good in my books: would come again without a doubt. gourmet burger kitchen filled my Burger gift for this day, and the personal ensured that I had a good time."

"As an unapologetic fan of burgers the dirty cheese burger ticked off the list for deliciousness. The beef was tender, the cheese was generous and the bun was fresh. The Korean wings were sticky and sweet (not particularly my fave because I’m more of a heat person but my friends who isn’t, enjoyed it so yeah). The fries were really good The service was good and the waiter was quite attentive and polite Despite being the only one, she manned our table alongside others with a warm smile Not really a fan of the interior decor and construct, kinda looks like a warehouse to me. It was a bit echoey and just amplified other peoples’ voices and laughters (which was a wee bit annoying for me) but if you’re able to overlook that, then you’ll really find everything else quite pleasing! Maybe I’ll just do a take out next time"

"Stopped for a drink and bite to eat on our way home from the football with the family at 6pm tonight spoke to the barman as he was pouring someone else a drink to ask about your new keg easy pale ale so he knew I wanted to be served then completely ignored us a preceded to serve several people who came to the bar after us waited 10 minutes so we left. Disgusting customer service the worst I have ever experienced. Don't know if it was because we wasn't local won't return anytime soon We was actually hoping to find somewhere decent for a meal to come too after each home game on our way home so lost potentially £100+ every other weekend Service: 1"

"flipside is a little full vegan fast food restaurant with a series of takeaway options as well as tables and stands to eat. the menu changes depending on the time of day, with burger the main drawing in the evening. they give and order on a screen, then they get their reception to pick it up from the counter. the service was fast and the staff very friendly and helpful, but I found it a scandal that the menu online had more options than actually available, and many items were not on stock. the burger was tasty, as well as the claw I ordered next to him, and the shakes were deliciously thick and creamy, especially the erdnus butter. I would definitely visit again and hope to try some of the other burger options."

"I appreciate the option of having separate menus at this restaurant because it allows for a fully vegan dining experience, which adds to the overall enjoyment for me. I tried the vegan breakfast and it was absolutely amazing, especially when paired with the pink lemonade mocktail. My sister-in-law, who is not vegan, decided to try the Jenseits Burger based on my recommendation, and she couldn't stop raving about it for days. The portion sizes are generous for the prices, and the ambiance and decor are inviting. The staff were friendly and attentive. If this restaurant were completely vegan, I wouldn't have any complaints. I highly recommend paying a visit."
"I have visited this restaurant multiple times in the past, but I must say that their quality has significantly declined. During my visit last night, I encountered numerous issues such as lack of water in the toilets (which made me question how they wash their dishes), torn seats and poorly upholstered furniture. Additionally, my meal was undercooked and although they offered to replace it, I opted for a refund instead as I couldn't wait any longer. Although the staff were friendly, I feel sorry for them considering the state of the establishment."

"Popped in after work on a warm May afternoon, nice and steady with groups of obviously regulars, good mixture of ages, few orange hi viz chaps and a few postal workers, makes one wonder where these folk would of once frequented when the town was thriving with pubs? But good to see people still like to pop out for a pint. The usual range of regular ales were on offer and two guest ales one was a coronation brew but didn’t like the description of it so opted for the other guest which was Oakham Citra, I’ve had this before and loved it so opted for it. The barmaid poured my pint and i have to say the pint looked stunning! Wonderful condition, crystal clear with a creamy head. The pint itself was first class, fresh, crisp, floral and zinging with citrus hops, the head retained its structure all throughout the pint with wonderful lacing clinging to the sides of the glass all the way down to the bottom of the glass. Without doubt a stunning example of a wonderful beer and at just £2.26 a pint an absolute bargain… Top marks"

"Despite advertising a vegan menu on this menu there wasn't much was just a very reduced version of the normal menu one salad, one panini, breakfast and falafel. So on its onset I wasn't amazingly enthusiastic. I had the panini which had sundried tomatos, chutney, houmus etc. It was really good I have to say, for a light-ish lunch. Didn't try the vegan cake but there was some on the menu so that's great! Went with someone who is gluten intolerant and there is also a gluten free menu, so they were happy. Waitress was lovely"

"The Vivo Lounge is a regular spot for our Sunday breakfasts when we visit Dorchester with family. It's also a great place for an evening drink, especially since it caters to vegans, which saves a lot of time spent searching for options. The vegan breakfasts are generous and satisfying, though the use of falafel and paprika is a bit unusual. On our last visit, we tried the big vegan breakfast, which included a sausage, three hash browns, three falafels, a somewhat inconsistently-sized vegan bacon, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes, toast, and the rather mismatched paprika and spinach. While I prefer Vibes just down the road, they aren't open on Sundays. I’d like to see Vivo Lounge go fully vegan, but I think they deserve 4 stars for their efforts."

"Love this pub, it's very popular and serves food until 10pm. There are two outdoor beer gardens/smoking areas, which both have heaters, a conservatory with a load of different kinds of clocks on the wall (none of them are the right time though and a private function room for hire. The staff are nice and helpful and the bar has a great range of drinks (lagers, ales, wines and spirits . Highly recommend a visit."

"Went for brunch as a group of 6, staff seemed accommodating on arrival showed us the menu and to our table. However we were disappointed by the lack of breakfast options offered for being advertised as a breakfast place. Similarly for being advertised as a bar, there wasn’t many drinks offered to go with breakfast. We were told staff would take our order at our table, then asked to go to the bar. When ordering there was 3 members of staff behind the bar, yet only one interacted with us whilst the others did nothing but trip over each other. Food tasted good but looked very bland and beige, little effort in presentation, no salad/garnish etc, offered fish but tartar sauce. Table was sticky, we were told our drinks were going out of date, so given them cheaper, which felt odd. Staff wore PPE incorrectly. Overall a frustrating experience."

"my gf had a cone with espresso coffee ice cream, our friend had some funky blue ice cream in a cone I had a malteaser milkshake to wash pancakes served with maple syrup. the ice and the cone were great, the milkshake was triumphant. the maple syrup was of the highest quality as the pancakes that was the smallest deductor, although it is understandable, have no hot pan to make fresh pancakes, but I was happy enough with 3 very large high-end storage pancakes. we are in a really comfortable diner style and added to a very pleasant frozen milk experience. I'm so glad."

"Some sandwiches were almost like bread and butter as the filling was so thin. The vegan sandwiches were a green leaf and some sort of chutney, the cake wasn't great. The scenes, cream and jam were lovely and the waiter was pleasant. We still had a great time but I wouldn't recommend this hotel for afternoon tea."
