"We dined at this restaurant in September while staying at Kenwood House Hotel. Due to the current Covid situation, we had to register upon arrival. We had some trouble finding a table due to the crowd, but eventually settled in a corner with a screen between us and the next table. Despite social distancing guidelines, a group of young people sat nearby and were loud and disruptive. We were uncomfortable and ended up moving to a quieter table near the garden exit. The food was average, but reasonably priced, and the drinks were good value. Unfortunately, the lack of safety measures and disruptive atmosphere made for a unpleasant dining experience. We hope to see improvements in the future before considering a return visit."

The meal (fish n chips with as much coffee as you can drink) was good value for money the batter was really good and not oily. The place looked welcoming but the tables could do with a bit more attention. Hadn't been cleaned very well. Overall good, and I would return. View menu

really nice, clean inviting ‘shoes’. as always good, cheap and consistent eating. only one person behind the bar (again, typical weatherspoons,) but the service was fast enough and as expected. tables and cutlery were clean and the servers were friendly and simply great at their job.

When we arrived the tables had been moved together, we asked a young man working there if he could sort them out for us, he did this with pleasure and was very helpful his name is Jack. This young man is an asset to your business he is so polite, It made the meal all so much more enjoyable for me and my wife, so a big thank you, and the meal was really nice. This is our go to place when in Louth. View menu

Whilst away on business we had a fair few meals here... for the man part all were absolutely lovely and so nicely cooked. The last meal I ate here was the mixed grill, something didn't taste right I have no idea what it was but I didn't eat it all, which is most unusual for me. The following 5 days I was ill with an upset stomach .. I couldn't leave the house tbh.. Such a shame as previously all other meals had been absolutely lovely.

after the most recent recommendations of some friends, we decided to come to lunch. the menu was as expected from wetherspoons. Friday afternoon and yes they were comfortably busy. none of the less service was good and pleasant staff. we decided to treat gourmet steaks. beautifully presented and cooked on request. now they don't do that good. my own steak was a bit hard and my wife had a surplus of gristle. a big shand, maybe needed more care.

"Booked stayed at this place very recently having read the excellent reviews. As a very level headed person, certainly not delusional I failed in trying to recognise or match the place based on any of the reviews posted on Booking.com The place, whilst very quaint appealing from the outside is in direct contrast to the inside! In reality, it 's very much in dire need of deep cleaning, redecorating and refurbishing. The food, not sure who prepared the meals in the reviews I read, but fail to see how it could be the same chef as the one that cooked ours! Our meals arrived no less than 40 minutes after ordering. The drinks to occupy us while we waited never did arrive when our meals finally arrived served (if slapping on the table warrants being called served three out of the five items that made up the meal were uncooked, cold unedible! The excuse given by the waitress, is far too busy and understaffed, yet despite not being able to fulfil the job paid for, they still take fee paying guests who are treated far less than second class citizens to the regular clientele supping at the bar! Far too busy but not enough to stop them from taking longer than necessary to laugh talking to the regulars! Needless to say, we ate at other places for the rest of our stay. DO NOT BE FOOLED, as we were by the reviews, which have stayed are extremely questionable indeed! If one is used to using hostels I can see this could be deemed as good, if not excellent accommodation. On the flip side, if one is used to hotels that are clean customer focused then this hotel (a grand name for nothing more than a public house with accommodation not a very good or pleasant one at that is not the one for you!!"
