"The Bull Islington, what can I say about this iconic blue pub on the heart of Upper Street? Other than the obvious that its a brilliant pub. I like to go to a pub a few times before writing a review. First, The guys behind the bar know what they are doing. They strive to give you a great service, you can see that in the attitude they show. They know what they are doing, and they are ****** great at it. I tried their Pineapple Spritz which I was recommended by the person with the pink hair, I asked what their favourite cocktail was and they said From the day we had our drinks training I fell in love with the Pineapple Spritz . So of course I had to try it, and I am glad I did. It was the best Spritz I have had for awhile, even better than an Aperol. I also tried some of their IPA 's too. Although a little pricey, due to the area, sadly we have come to the point were we no longer see £5 pints. I still enjoyed a lovely pint of Camden Pale, £7.25, they glass was clean and the taste was incredible. Second, the food. I have had a few different meals during my visits. Their 3 for £17 snack deal is a great choice if you are looking for something to nibble on but not too sure what you want. You can mix and match from a selection of 9 different dishes. I loved the Calamari, Fried Chicken and Halloumi Fries. On a second visit I had the 8oz Sirloin Steak, which came with chips. I asked for it to be cooked Medium rare and that 's exactly what I got. I was juicy and I got it with the Beef dripping and Thyme sauce. I then visited for a Sunday roast. I got the Roast beef and my partner got the Chicken, It comes with peas, leeks, cabbage, carrots, potato 's and the biggest yorkie I have ever seen (Luckily my partner doesn 't like Yorkies so I got two). We also got a portion of cauliflower cheese, which was just delightful. The portions are little smaller than I expected for 2 people, so next time i will order two portions of Cauliflower cheese. I love that they put your gravy in a pot for you to pour yourself, however the portion is very small and had to ask my server for some more (which is free). Third, the Atmosphere. I have been here at different times on different days to try and get a feel for what this place is really like. During the day on a weekday, it is very quiet and they play easy going music. This is the best time to go if you want to fall sit down meal, if you are on your lunch break or if you are meeting with a friend. This is the place for you, they also do sandwiches. On Friday nights they have door staff on however, the pub still has that pub feel. They don 't push the tables out of the way to create a dance floor . They do raise the volume of the music up. The only down side is that at busier times, service can be a little slow. However, that doesn 't stop them from giving you the best service ever. I would love to have this as my local, however I live too far. If you are Luckily enough to live near this gem of a pub, check it out, you will not regret it! I hope I am able to come back to Islington at some point to pop in again soon."
