"I stayed here in the motorhome through Britstops and found everyone extremely friendly and helpful with no pressure to frequent the pub for food and drinks. However, when I booked to stay they booked a table for me in case I wanted a meal, which was greatly appreciated as it was extremely busy. The food, service and hospitality was excellent and I would unreservedly recommend it to anyone. We will be returning next week as visiting family and looking forward to staying again. Thank you. Brian."

Always love visiting here, never dissapoints. Great food, only little snag, feel a little rushed at times by staff. On saying that staff are very attentive.

Lovely old pub built in 1688, it was a cold day but the roaring fire made it warm cosy. The staff are lovely friendly and the freshly cooked food was delicious. Highly recommended

Absolutely lovely fish and chips but a very small portion. Was nowhere near full and for the price that's unfortunate. Five for quality but one for portion. Shouldn't leave hungry.

Can’t go wrong with this place. Good honest food with friendly staff. The hubby and I go often on our way home from work (after a busy day serving others) and it never fails. Food is always spot on with no issues. Thank you ‘White...

Service was prompt with the usual automated welcome and standard humourless script. The huge menu is a sure danger sign and we heard that they had run out of crumble another danger sign after all, now long does it take to knock up some...

I ordered the scampi as my main course, but found it to be more like a children's portion. It was not good value for the price. My partner had the fish pie, which was just average. Overall, we both felt that the meal was not worth the price paid. View menu

The food at this restaurant was excellent and tasted homemade, unlike many pub-style options. The staff were efficient, helpful, and friendly. Although not the most affordable pub we've dined at, the quality of the food made up for it. The vegetables served with the main dish were fresh and didn't taste reheated or microwaved. The menu had a great selection, particularly the desserts. We would definitely come back to eat here again.

I have been to this restaurant four times in the past four years. I don't visit very often because I always thought the food was terrible. I decided to give it another chance this time, hoping it may have improved. Unfortunately, I must say that this place still serves the most flavorless food I have ever tasted. If you were to close your eyes and try a dish, you wouldn't have any idea what you were eating. It was completely lacking in taste. I won't be returning again.

"After reading the reviews we was really looking forward to eating here ,however it turned out to be the worst tapas and worst service we have ever received . After waiting 10 minutes for someone to take our drinks order we then waited a further 30 mins to be served with what can only be described as toast with tasteless mushed up tomatoes on , this was inedible and hardly touched , a further 20 minutes on and we was served a single dish of chicken between two of us again this was very bland and resembled nothing like a original tapas dish more like a chicken korma again this was hardly touched . When I enquired as to where the rest of the food was I was told they was very busy . With this we decided to cut our loses and asked for the bill . Before leaving we tried to have a conversation with the manager who is also the chef to give some honest feedback ,however he wasn’t open to listening , he’s response was “it’s normal in a tapas restaurant to receive one dish at a time between two with a large gap between dishes wasn’t it explained to you that’s what tapas is “We felt this was a very patronising remark as we eat tapas on a regular basis and know this is definitely not the case . To matters worse there was people who came in after us with multiple plates and tucking in nicely to their meals . The manager who was obviously struggling to cope on a busy Saturday night should have just apologised and admitted our order had been overlooked . If you are looking for authentic Tapas with excellent service in Wigan go to Casa Carlos this place doesn’t deserve your hard earned money ."
