"The food was incredible and the service was excellent. I ordered the shrimp appetizer and the filet Signor Sassi, both of which were delicious. I particularly enjoyed the parmesan cheese and olives that were served before the meal instead of bread. It was a great option for someone like me who cannot eat bread or wheat products."

"We managed to get a last minute booking which surprised us, given that it was a Friday evening in the west end. When we arrived we received a warm welcome and given a nice table by the window. We ordered wine which was decanted at the table by our waitress Valentina. We chose mussels to start followed by pizza and sergios cod provencal along with a tomato and onion salad which they kindly prepared despite not being on the menu, (not always easy to achieve in many other restaurants) The mussels were tiny and many of the shells were empty, however the marinara sauce was tasty. The pizza, quattro formaggi was incredibly salty and doughy. The cod dish was bland and in our opinion the fish was undercooked. We were hungry so ate what we could. But left a considerable amount of food untouched. When the waitress came to clear she could obviously see that we had not enjoyed the food and asked how it was. She was also surprised that no-one had come to do a quality check. She said she would go and speak to the manager, which she did. After we paid and made to leave the manager then approached and offered us a limoncello which we declined. Sadly we were disappointed and despite there being many celebrity photographs adorning the walls, we found the experience underwhelming."

"The service at La Lanterna was outstanding! The atmosphere was quiet and very relaxing during our dinner. The location was also perfect, within walking distance from our hotel near the train station. There were also bars and shops nearby."

"I was served by a tall, dark-haired girl who I believe must be the manager; if she isn’t, she certainly should be because her service was exceptional. On the other hand, the guy at the bar, who resembled Ed Sheeran, was quite unfriendly and distant. We would have felt unwelcome if it weren't for the waitress, who worked hard to make us feel at home. She was constantly moving around to ensure all of us were taken care of, seemingly compensating for the lack of effort from the rest of the staff. I was really impressed by her ability to manage the place almost single-handedly. The food was great, but there seemed to be a lack of leadership on the floor. Also, I noticed a red-haired guy actively trying to undermine our waitress, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't have given this place a 4-star rating."

"This is mine and my mum’s absolute go to restaurant before a show in Edinburgh. Without fail this is where we end up at the start of our night. Great prices, food and staff – I cannot recommend this place enough. Last time we had the pre theatre menu and everything was delicious and served very promptly. I started off with the fried Camembert which was delicious and just melted in my mouth while my mum had the mushroom in the white wine sauce. For main course; one of my favourite Italian dishes is meatballs and pasta which luckily was on the menu – it had lots of garlic through it which is just the way I like it. My mum went for the lasagna which was lovely but extremely hot when it was delivered to the table. As if I hadn't eaten enough I had apple pie for dessert while my mum had a coffee. Everything was delicious and we were out in plenty of time for our show. I’ll definitely be back again."

"We ate here as a family on Saturday July There were adults, one five year old and a baby. The restaurant is our local, just down the road so we know it well It has a nice family atmosphere, busy but not noisy, and friendly. The staff are attentive and cheerful but not pushy. The service is good, even when busy. The owner is very hands on and greets everyone. We chose the rioja wine which was gorgeous. The house wines are good too from past experience. The starters, pizzas and pasta are excellent and good value. Tasty and well cooked. In comparison the mains and specials can be overpriced and the portions quite small, although flavoursome. Two of our party had them and were a bit disappointed. Our pizza, the Anacapri, unusually, was a bit lack lustre, undercooked and not very tasty. Usually they are really good. However it didnât spoil our evening and we all enjoyed it, especially the children. Nobody minds them walking about and they get special attention."

"Had a really lovely evening here last night, the food delicious and reasonably priced. The wine was quite expensive so we opted for the ‘house red’ which was absolutely fine for us. The staff were attentive, but not intrusive, the ambience of the restaurant was warm and inviting. I would definitely recommend, and will be going back for sure."

"Absolute garbage food. I usually stay at the Radisson Blu nearby when in the Wharf for work and have done takeaway a few times. **** each time...every dish."

"If you just want a quick bite before a theatre production then Limoncello is perfect. The Service was ok but lacked any interaction or warmth, it was literally brought and taken away plates. We asked for water, we were given warm tap water with no ice which was not the nicest tasting. We ordered a garlic bread with cheese that arrived resembling more like charcoal around the edges. It was completely burnt and obviously so. I was surprised that they would serve that. I did not complain but simply ate the middle bit and left the rest. The pizza I had was delicious. If like me, you like dessert, then I am afraid this is not the place for you. We asked for the dessert menu and were told flatly that they do not do dessert otherwise they would have offered a menu. With that, we paid and left feeling a little but short-changed. It was an experience but we will not be returning for another."

"Italian-english experience. I am Italian and I choose to stop at this restaurant because of the reviews. It might have been a one off bad experience. The restaurant looks very cozy and inviting, the staff is very welcoming and warm. The food, or at least what we ordered was disappointing. The caldo siciliano starter was a disgrace. The bread served was microwave crunchy with frozen fried crocche warm outside and strangely cold inside). The non Sicilian arancini and fried bread where an offence to what an arancini or pane in carrozza should be. All of it served with a bit of garnish salad leaves that resembles the most cheap serving in the 80 's. My wife took as a main the Knorr veal saltimbocca , the only thing she could taste was the veggie stock in the sauce, so salty. I took a starter as a main, the polipo e patate and it was okay. Okay because the butter burned taste overtook the octopus one. We did not took the dessert to avoid further disappointment. It might be a very Italian experience for foreigners but if this is the standard it 's disappointing. Please note, this is one of the first bad reviews I ever wrote. I usually don 't care but this time the expectations were high. Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4"

"We used to love this restaurant in Altrincham, but unfortunately it appears to have closed down unexpectedly. We are unsure of the reasons behind this sudden closure, as we had visited just a week prior with no indication of any issues. We are hopeful that this closure is just temporary and that the owners and staff are doing alright. Rating: Food 5, Service 5, Atmosphere 5."

"Food was delicious, wine was great. Staff were very friendly and we're extremely attentive. Water glass was always full overall a very pleasant dining experience. Resteraunt is tucked away in bricklane. Will definitely be going back it was worth every penny. I recommend the king prawn and crab pasta yummy."

"Threre is nothing much about this place that would recommend it above many similar ones, and a few reasons to go elsewhere. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was undistinguished at best. We had veal and calf liver respectively. Both a bit tough. And liver surprisingly greasy. They came with a choice of just one vegetable, which seems a bit mean. There was a lump of salad stuck on the side of the plate, I'm not sure why. Most of the desserts on the menu looked like bought in manufactured ones. The creme caramel was home made, and adequate, but no better. There was a big menu. but no sense of pride about the food."

"Had a super meal here a couple of months ago so went back next time we were in Edinburgh. However this time the meal was not so good... Cheese in Calzone was not fully melted and a little cold (could still see where it had been grated) and a large corner of the pasta in the callenoni was burned black and hidden under the cheese topping. Unfortunately this took the shine of what was otherwise a good meal."

"We had a lovely time at this place. We were 4 mums and 5 children ages 2 to 10 years old. We didn't book but they made a space for us. The staff are very welcoming and made us feel welcome as soon as we came in. We were offered high chairs which were a good height so the 2 and 3 Yr old could eat at the table. The atmosphere is vibrant which I like. Very Italian. The food was lovely. The chicken Kiev usually comes with potatoes but I exchanged it for fries. Everything came out hot and fresh. The pizzas and garlic bread were very nice. My 10yr old had the pesto pasta which she said was delicious. I had the tiramisu which was awesome. Homemade. Thr mascarponi was so delicious. I was stuffed until I couldn't move! The bill was £160 for 4 adults and 5 kids which I thought was fantastic value for money. Would definitely return."

"We went out for dinner with friends at Alitalia and were very satisfied. Drinks and food were served very quickly after ordering, and both the pizza and pasta dishes as well as the meat dish were very delicious. The prices are completely reasonable considering the quality and service. We had made a reservation and were seated at a table on the edge of the large room, which made it a bit more secluded and quiet."

"The experience we had here was atrocious not one of the waiters (all eastern europeans) spoke any English, where miming salt and pepper pots brought us a chilli bottle; the orders were mixed up or duplicated; the food tasted terrible, the portions tiny (for the price); the noise level was way too high; we wanted a mix of set menu and a la carte, the waiter got into a tizz saying we could not do this, all HAD to be one or the other, yet nowhere on the menus did it write that. The only comfort was the stressed out manager, who bless her spoke a little English so we could convey our frustration at it all. A pity as we then had to leave the poor tasting food for a nearby McDonalds; embarrassing as we had planned a great night out. How the heck Talli Joe got voted best Indian in London baffled all of us, they have such a prime location yet service and food were really poor I would never ever go there again, any eaterie in London HAS to be better than this disastrous place."

"The restaurant was not open for our 7am breakfast reservation despite accepting our reservation via Open Table and having an opening time of 6am. We were traveling and needed to be assured a hot meal at an early hour, and Milano never contacted us to cancel the reservation or apologize for not being open when it was supposed to be. Its website also does not have an email address so you can only contact it via phone which doesn't work to alert management to a problem when the restaurant is closed. Very disappointing."
