"Our experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. We dined in the mid-afternoon before going to the theatre. The restaurant was being cleaned up after lunch, which did not help the lack of ambiance; it felt like being at McDonald's. We were the only customers (a party of 4) and yet the food arrived late, cold, poorly presented, and badly cooked. We paid £200 for a lackluster meal. I would recommend going to The Judged Hare instead."

"The food was amazing! Loved everything we ordered and shared. They had sold out of quite a few dishes unfortunately but it was their last night being open in that location so understandable. The tables were quite small and close to the people next to us but I think the new location might have more space! We were tight on time due to a show we needed to get to at a certain time so had to rush the food towards the end I'm looking forward to visiting again and taking my time to enjoy the food even more!"

"I had mixed feelings about this restaurant. The atmosphere and interior design were lovely. However, the staff did not have our booking and seemed annoyed to find a table for us. Despite it being a Saturday night, the venue was only half full. We were told to wait at the bar, which seemed to never be serviced. Eventually, a staff member was surprised and unsure when we ordered drinks from the bar. Once we were seated, the service was good. The starters were exceptional, but the mains were a bit disappointing. It was not clear that the steaks came with no accompaniments besides onions, which was disappointing. The dessert and wine were both delicious. The staff did not rush us out after two hours, which was a nice change from other restaurants."

"We had a wonderful evening from start to finish. We started with a cocktail which arrived quickly and very much enjoyed. We all ate different things, gnocchi squid and pigeon for starters. Generous portions, piping hot, really good. Then came steak, sole and hake. Again perfect portion size, beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. Not much room for dessert, but the pannacotta was a perfect choice to slip down the sides! Delicious and light. Service was attentive and professional, the ambiance was lovely and given that it was the last service of the season the standards did not slip in any way. We look forward to dining here again next year."

We were sure the chips for the fish and chips were frozen chips. You'd get better fish and chips from the local chippy. I'd expect better from Browns. Great space with good ambience. "I always wanted to fight to like browns. it is finally a large company chain restaurant (sorry, brasserie and we prefer our local, home-grown restaurants. as much as Mitchell and butler with the leather, marble and posh champagne quid for a bottle vintage dompers have actually tried quite reasonable) there is not away from the fact that there is a harvester in a pretty frock and expensive jewellery, or an all-bar-one with a piano. but the flagship restaurant brand of one of the largest catering groups Britain will never be terrible, will it?"

"Really disappointed . I have been to other Browns always happy for the meal and service . As I work near this one , so I booked there last night . First, the staff couldn’t find my booking , as his attitude didn’t really friendly , I told him if there isn’t my booking , I will go to other place .finally he found it . When I asked for lighting up the candle on the table , he said it is finished and no stock, then he found a candle maybe from other table) for us , but left the old one still on the table . Second is the food . I really suggest they shouldn’t open restaurant on Monday night , just leave the bar. We ordered starter and main course( no much choice for seafood, no fish chips too) The starter is okay, but the main course has no taste at all, we left most of the food on the plates . It was really ruin my evening ."

"Service was bordering slow which I prefer. Our main courses (Shin of Beef and Pork Belly was delicious and highly reccommended and full of flavour. Our drinks didnt come as served on the Gin Menu but were lovely all the same. However the desserts were really dissapointing. The Sticky Toffee Pudding (with Porridge Oats on top sure it said Granola.. was very dry (possibly over heated and lacked toffee sauce to keep it moist. The Oats had ginger crystals and the ginger overpowered the toffee flavour it should have also had ginger ice cream too which I swapped out and which would definitely have been too much for a Sticky Toffee not Sticky Ginger pudding. My friend had the Bomb which didnt really melt as much as it should and basically came on a bed of CocoPops and far too many making it sickly."

I have a complaint when shopping for a long day around 17 o'clock, we asked if we could dive. the managerin in the writing asked if we had a booking that we replied to no. she continued saying that the restaurant was booked all night, what we answered ok then we will only stay for a drink. While I was waiting for my man to serve, I looked online and from 6.15 o'clock there were tables so I booked 6.15 o'clock at 17.30 o'clock was another manager present and I said we had a table at 6.15 o'clock, but if you were available we would like to eat earlier. she informed us that we had the table if we wanted it. that were 30 minutes after we asked the first managerin who told us that the restaurant was spelled all night. very upset, but very grateful for the second manager."

"The food was good and service was very attentive but the experienced was rushed, noisy and not relaxing at all. The restaurant wasn’t full but the kitchen pumped out dishes out like they had been preprepared, with entrees arriving before our aperitifs, mains arriving just as the entree plates were taken away without a chance to ask for a second drink. We ended up having to ask to slow the whole dinner down. The music was loud, obnoxious and terrible, the dessert both pre- prepared and soggy but undercooked, and the dessert wine glass was so heavy I could’ve clubbed some over the head with us. More finesse and recognition that people want to have a romantic, Saturday night out would’ve been appreciated."

"I booked this hotel as a weekend getaway for my partner and I on the basis that we have used Malmaison before in Aberdeen and it was great Sadly this stay was a disaster. I originally booked one suite for the Saturday night but wanted to extend the stay and also stop Friday night. For two weeks leading up to the stay I emailed the hotel, called the hotel and got no response so in frustration booked a second room for the Friday night independently When we arrived and I explained the situation the desk staff were just plain rude and unhelpful, there was no greeting, no small talk no experience whatsoever Sadly it only got worse. The Friday night was a smaller suite which was a nice room and well furnished but of course we had to check out of this after breakfast (which was okay). Holding the luggage for us for the day seemed to be a massive drama When we returned around and checked in to the larger suite again there was not even a smile from the staff as I paid over Once up in the room there was no robes, the towels were dirty, no hot water, no water by the bed etc When we checked out the next day and I complained they offered to refund breakfast and that was it. So in summary, the first room was the second the experience was worth a Trevel Lodge room. I will not be staying there again which is a shame as it is well located and the local bars and restaurants were great."

"before taking part, we had not asked for any eiersandwiche since one of the party was pregnant. we had to explain to the waiter once again that our nutritional requirements were not fulfilled, as our previous request had not been implemented. then it took 50 minutes until the afternoon. the personal in which there is usually not to be seen. it took another 15 minutes until the staff created an additional milk requirement. at the end when we wanted to leave the restaurant, I had to approach the kitchen to find a coworker to demand the bill. overall the foods, the atmosphere and the lack of employees who are visible, or the participation in a total bad experience, and not one I would probably repeat."
