"I ordered delivery from this restaurant at midday today. The food did not arrive until 2.40pm. The chicken in the chicken burgers was not sufficient to fill the buns. They made a mistake with the toastie filling, so I called them and they said they would send a replacement. At 3.20pm, the manager called my house and initially said the replacement was on its way. However, he then became aggressive towards my partner, raising his voice and interrupting him. He blamed everything but his own business for the delay and errors, even blaming us despite living within the delivery area and paying £3 for delivery. It is now 4.55pm and the replacement toastie still has not arrived. I paid for something I never received and received abusive behavior from the owner. I will not be returning to this place as the customer service is terrible. I am now uncomfortable knowing that this angry man has my phone number and address."

"I can't say enough of this little caffe. fresh, clean ingredients, mostly made to home, and other ingredients are fresh made for food that everyone would enjoy. that is really a jewel hidden in the city of edinburgh. I'm so glad we walked on this street and landed in this caffe. if they happen to travel or a local in edinburgh, they do one like and visit this little but beautiful caffe. we had sandwiches with fresh bread and tried their homemade mushroom soup. very delicious! oh, and they also have baked and cake, only for the case that they want to dessert. I also had cappuccino and my wife of the elderflower sparkling water and she loved it."

"The ‘big bagel’ was nice enough as were the chips. Sweet friendly waitress. Please do not order the nachos-they are flavourless and in my opinion the tortilla chips a little stale. Was a little hard work trying to get someone’s attention for the bill. I think they could do with one more member of staff to keep things running more smoothly eg clearing tables, wiping down seats and supplying the bill more promptly. I voiced my opinion at the time re the nachos but was met with a vacant stare and a ‘no ones ever complained about them before ‘. They bizarrely offered to take 10% off the cost of the nachos. A more commercially savvy response would have been ‘so sorry you didn’t like the nachos Ill take them off the bill as you’ve barely touched them. Hope to see you again next time’ There’s lots of competition in the area who in my opinion offer waaay better service. I believe the owner was behind the counter at the time who took no ownership of the situation-that was a shame but hey ho that’s why some businesses succeed and others don’t stand the test of time."

"This restaurant is an amazing hidden gem! After hearing so many positive reviews from family and friends, we decided to try it out today. It definitely lived up to the hype. We ordered a halva chanay puri and a Scottish breakfast, along with 2 teas. The prices were fair for the generous portion sizes, and we were completely satisfied. The quality of the food was outstanding - you could taste the love and care put into each dish. Well done, we will definitely be returning!"

"At my second meal at Rivea I was able to sample quite a wide range of dishes, as we were in a group of four. The dining room had pleasingly low noise levels, at around 68 decibels (normal conversation level). Warm octopus and potato salad had very tender cephalopod and good potato (15/20). Red mullet came with confit tomatoes and olives; the fish was carefully cooked, the tomatoes having quite good flavour. (16/20). "Now, what can I say....love this place my family and I have made it a little a family tradition to go there when we go to brighton. the gentleman who owns it is so friendly and nothing is too much annoyed and the rest of the staff are equally friendly. the quality and presentation of food is undoubtedly excellent. we've never been disappointed over all the years we're going there. it is a must if they are in brighton, just eat nothing before they go in there, make sure that they are very full of it as they do not scrimp on portion sizes either. we had full breakfast waffel and 2 x dessert waffeln. my family member enjoyed the beautiful sunglass, which was given as a beautiful gesture, because there is birthday so friendly and very unexpected. "Went for Beauty and The Beast afternoon tea yesterday. Utterly stunning building and the room we were sat in was decorated beautifully. The service from start to finish was lovely although we did have to flag someone down anytime we needed something as we were not approached at all for more drinks or if we wanted our scones. The sandwiches were lovely and cut perfectly if not a little bland. The chicken roll was lovely and the toastie was nice but would benefit from stronger cheese as it didn’t really taste of anything. The scones were perfect and some of the best I’ve ever eaten. The sausage rolls were amazing as were the little tart and salmon mousse. The cakes very much let it all down. The blueberry cake tasted of nothing and seemed greasy. The macaron again tasted of very little and the red food colouring stained everything it touched. The lemon cake was nice but the icing was awful and it seemed to be made from margarine rather than actual butter. The chocolate mousse was lovely if not a little strong for the children. Both the savoury and sweet biscuits were out of this world. Our biggest complaint is that 4 of us were squeezed into a small table. We really struggled for space. I couldn’t drink my tea and had to hand back my pot of tea as we simply didn’t have space for it. We felt incredibly cramped. It would of been nice to have some music in line with the themed afternoon tea playing too perhaps?"

"I am a regular at this cafe because it is the best in Dundee! I visit at least three times a week and it's great to have the staff remember my order. They are always friendly and very helpful. The atmosphere is fantastic, it's relaxing enough to study in but also has a lively vibe! My go-to drink is a large skinny chai (and the large drinks are huge which I love), it's the best chai I've ever had. And at less than £4 with a student discount, it's a steal! My favorite cakes are the Speculoos, Rainbow Cake, and the delicious banoffee muffins. I will definitely be coming back here every week!"

"The countertops in the open kitchen appeared messy with batter residue, chocolate, and crumbs. This gave a poor impression to customers, despite the possibility of them being busy. One staff member was wearing a dirty, cake-stained uniform with noticeable stains on his black trousers. The toilets were dirty, with tissue papers strewn across the floor and stains on the seat and bowl. The floor had muddy footprints and food residue, indicating a need for a thorough cleaning. In addition, the music playing was not appropriate for a family-friendly establishment, with lyrics containing foul language. However, the service was friendly and prompt, with generous portions for those with a sweet tooth."
