"I used to go here a lot when I lived here about a year ago and loved their food. Was back today and it has drastically changed. The service is so poor and they were so rude. The food is not cooked properly. I had the man made bowl with roasted tofu. The tofu was heated in the microwave. Barely warm and the vegetables (butternut squash&beetroot) still had the skin on and was rock hard. I do not recommend to anyone to go here. Very disappointed."

"Omg this place is amazing! Forget the big ice-cream chains, this is the place to go. They have a massive selection of homemade gelato ice-cream, which is the best I've ever tried to be honest and I've been to italy! Two very welcoming and friendly owners here, always smiling and chatty. I've been three times and should venture out on their lovely looking food and drinks menu but just can't stop eating their gelato! Highly recommended! 5stars all round!"

"I ordered delivery from this restaurant at midday today. The food did not arrive until 2.40pm. The chicken in the chicken burgers was not sufficient to fill the buns. They made a mistake with the toastie filling, so I called them and they said they would send a replacement. At 3.20pm, the manager called my house and initially said the replacement was on its way. However, he then became aggressive towards my partner, raising his voice and interrupting him. He blamed everything but his own business for the delay and errors, even blaming us despite living within the delivery area and paying £3 for delivery. It is now 4.55pm and the replacement toastie still has not arrived. I paid for something I never received and received abusive behavior from the owner. I will not be returning to this place as the customer service is terrible. I am now uncomfortable knowing that this angry man has my phone number and address."

"A chain with some character, Le Pain serves up great coffee and authentic French sweets and pastries and a mean brunch/breakfast option. I've stopped at Le Pain for coffee and croissants in the past, both of which are excellent at reasonable prices and accompanied by free wifi should you be interested. The real winner here though is the breakfast boards; there are a number to choose from but as an example you can opt for The Angler which arrives on a large wooden board and includes a boiled egg a very generous serving of smoked salmon with capers a wedge of baguette two slices of soft bread fresh cream cheese choice of croissant/pain au chocolat/pastry selection of jams choice of hot drink fresh orange juice granola parfait At just under 16 pounds this is a late breakfast option that will satisfy even the hungriest customer. It gets quite busy though, so don't expect much attention from the servers and you'll inevitably end up a few pieces of cutlery short. If you don't mind that it's worth a visit, and if suggest sharing a few boards between you as one per person is really far too much food!"

"Wandering around Soho we walked by Le Pain and decided to give it a try looks nice from the outside with all these bread put forward on display. Ordered some house Chardonney with olives to start with and then Pizzetta, Organic Lentil Avocado Salad and Prosciutto with Mozzarella on toast. All really good. House wine excellent for house wine category, olives with some spicy flavour, salad was fairly reach (variety of veggies inside), ham was tasty and only pizzetta could have been, perhaps, a bit warmer... "The ‘big bagel’ was nice enough as were the chips. Sweet friendly waitress. Please do not order the nachos-they are flavourless and in my opinion the tortilla chips a little stale. Was a little hard work trying to get someone’s attention for the bill. I think they could do with one more member of staff to keep things running more smoothly eg clearing tables, wiping down seats and supplying the bill more promptly. I voiced my opinion at the time re the nachos but was met with a vacant stare and a ‘no ones ever complained about them before ‘. They bizarrely offered to take 10% off the cost of the nachos. A more commercially savvy response would have been ‘so sorry you didn’t like the nachos Ill take them off the bill as you’ve barely touched them. Hope to see you again next time’ There’s lots of competition in the area who in my opinion offer waaay better service. I believe the owner was behind the counter at the time who took no ownership of the situation-that was a shame but hey ho that’s why some businesses succeed and others don’t stand the test of time."

"The evening in the Macau Kitchen was just perfect! The warm chat with the owners makes you feel as if you visit the home of your old friends. The food was so delicious and yummy that it is hard to describe it in a few words! The cod in a turmeric sauce was just a masterpiece! Very well balanced and rich in spices, but not too hot! Our child was super happy with his meal as well! Sweet potatoes with beef work well for kids, and his spring rolls were just the best in Edinburgh (sorry to the other restaurants, you are quite far from achieving it). For the dessert, we chose the Snow mountain. What should I say? Just standing ovations to the kitchen! Bravo! Very well done, guys! You are amazing! "We were welcomed with delectable bread and dips, setting the tone for the meal. The Parmah ham tigelle was a standout, reminiscent of the best ham and cheese sandwich. The crispy socca was akin to solid, torn crepe, and the roasted panisse were like chickpea fritters that resembled chips. The buffalo mozzarella salad was above average, although the addition of sardines would have enhanced the dish. The octopus and sweet potato salad was a well-executed interpretation of a common dish, while the wild mushroom and ricotta ravioli burst with mushroom flavor. The Trofie pasta with genovese pesto was simple yet well-executed. The artichoke risotto was sufficiently cooked, with a strong artichoke flavor, although the combination with Parmesan was a bit peculiar. The sage parmesan gnocchi was slightly gummy and lacked depth in flavor. The Riviera-style John Dory was well-cooked but could have benefited from more seasoning. The veal fillet with asparagus was a basic yet well-prepared dish, with a flavorful reduction and perfectly cooked meat. The Gianduja palet dessert was dense and balanced in sweetness, bitterness, and nuttiness, with stellar ice cream. The service at Rivea is of Michelin quality, and the overall dining experience exceeded expectations. It was a very good, reasonably priced meal."

"Now, what can I say....love this place my family and I have made it a little a family tradition to go there when we go to brighton. the gentleman who owns it is so friendly and nothing is too much annoyed and the rest of the staff are equally friendly. the quality and presentation of food is undoubtedly excellent. we've never been disappointed over all the years we're going there. it is a must if they are in brighton, just eat nothing before they go in there, make sure that they are very full of it as they do not scrimp on portion sizes either. we had full breakfast waffel and 2 x dessert waffeln. my family member enjoyed the beautiful sunglass, which was given as a beautiful gesture, because there is birthday so friendly and very unexpected. "Extremely well organised event. We felt very welcomed from the moment we arrived, the afternoon tea and drinks were served and all of the sumptuous offerings were explained. Attention to detail was amazing. It was our daughter’s 30th birthday celebration, the team put a sweet congratulations card on the table for her and even brought out a slice of cake with a candle in to make the occasion even more special. All of the staff were attentive and professional, and the amazing food tasted every bit as good as it looked. I cannot rate this venue highly enough."
