"Absolutely loved this place, went for a birthday meal with my husband two daughters and son in law. Lady who served us was brilliant, had a laugh with us but not too intrusive, food was amazing and we are quite fussy! Good value and such a good atmosphere, have already been recommending it to friends, will return."

"I'm always on the hunt for two things when choosing a restaurant in London. If it's not for a special occasion or random splurge then i always look for the underdog. That restaurant who goes relatively undiscovered and also one which represents great value for money. Antidote Wine Bar just off Carnaby Street ticks both boxes. I've been walking past this popular little restaurant for a couple of years now, always telling myself I'd pop in, but never did. Just as i decided to head down in February they'd closed for a refurbishment just my luck. But then i heard a rumour, and got a little excited. After a little research on the Internet i discovered that not only was the refurb revealing...read more"

"We have come to London to watch the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund. The restaurant was recommended to us from Madrid, Spain. And the truth is that we loved Spanish food. The octopus is delicious, we loved the chorizo and egg buns. Chicken and ham croquettes. And the best of all has been taking a Galicia star. I recommend coming to El Pitata to try Spanish food."

"The food overall was far too salty , with the steak and chimichurri almost inedible , service was slow despite there only being four tables , one being clearly filmed for promotional footage , receiving dishes quickly despite not being eaten , whilst other tables were left waiting . We were left waiting in between individual small plates some arriving lukewarm, and it was difficult getting table service despite staff being huddled around the bar area unoccupied. I was disappointed as I’d enjoyed the food previously , but this experience has put me off ."

"I Loved this place! We arrived a little early for cocktails at the bar i had a Flat white martini something you must try if you like an espresso martini, well this is better! The service was fantastic and attentive. We shared a selection of Tapas as a group of four people to start with and it was amazing we just wanted more however the waiter was very good at helping us order as we had never been before, he suggested we share starters as we were wanting paella also. Good thing we did! The waiter suggested we ordered 1 paella per couple as it is a sharing dish. Wow amazing! They brought out 2 massive hot dishes of paella on a stand beside the table and the waiter served your 1st portion! We ordered one chicken and one sea food paella which was delicious ! we also ordered 1 bottle of wine for the table to go with the paella which was lovely also and i am not the biggest fan of wine but that was perfect to go with what we had to eat. Cannot wait to go back hopefully it will be soon as writing this has made me hungry haha."
"Favourite is not always the same as 'the best regarded ' or the grandest. Favourite for me, covers places that we 've loved, often smaller, perhaps less well known restaurants. They all have excellent cuisine (some have Michelin stars) and can represent superb value for money. Many of these restaurants are highly regarded in Spain but maybe unfairly overlooked by foreign food tourists and don 't appear on the 50 Best Awards. In most cases they 're well underrated but are at the top of our favourite lists.1. Aponiente, El Puerto de Santa Maria near Cádiz.I never tire of championing this revolutionary seafood restaurant. If you google it, there are few English reviews outside of mine. It 's strange as chef Ángel León is a TV star over there. In our opinion it should be regarded as amongst the finest in Spain and the world. A third Michelin star will most definitely help with that should that be forthcoming. It should be at the top of your 'to eat ' list along with the likes of DiverXo and El Celler de Can Roca.. They are moving to larger premises in September so we hope to return again."

"Overall a good experience . We had a meal with friends over from Switzerland. Excellent atmosphere low noise levels so conversations were good. Good was excellent bar the paella . We sat down at 6pm and the seafood paella had already run out so we opted for the chicken . It was very salty . The rest of the food was excellent. Service was brilliant except they got our dessert order wrong which resulted in one of our party waiting for their dessert to arrive. The waiter apologised and apart from that one mistake he was pleasant, efficient and attentive."

"tapa edinburg 24/10/2015 the autumn is good and truly on us and it was crisp at night on Friday, as a food club on the ufer for some tapas in the fantastic looking tapa restaurant down on the ufer beaten. because of the size of our party we had to go with the group menu, but it was very reasonable and boasted a lot of everything they could ask and more. we started with a little broth and oil and this followed a beautiful crisp salad and then a selection of cold meat and cheese. the group menu allowed them to choose 2 main dishes tapas and with 7 people in the participation and 13 meat/fish dishes on the menu. we chose “all from above and an additional band”. service was fast and seamless and very friendly. while waiting for the first of the dishes, we talked about the beautiful interior of the restaurant and its in-house atmosphere. we also discussed our usual amount of müll and apologise for the others in the restaurant from our loudness, but we love a good laugh. I will be honest and say I'm late to finish this review and remember the exact details of the dishes is difficult, but what I can say is that they were all great. a special mention of the Pork jack and the chorizowurst. we have ordered more from an extended menu and I recommend the tempura garnel, a crispy golden crunch of joy. the sea bass was also a party on the palette. the night was finished with churros and chocolate sauce and I would have drunk happily a pint of warm, dark and silky accompaniment. we ordered some coffees and finished our alcoholic drinks before they departed to leith and back to the center. massive thanks to all in the food club for a great night with brilliant service and majestic dine unfortunately our November trip was postponed, but this month we will be west to glasgow and into the arisaig restaurant. Of course, as it is the festive season, it must be a little more laborious. food club twitter @wearefoodclub instagram – thefoodclub1"

"This spot has a good location, however the service and food let it down. We were seated upstairs and were forgotten about. A lengthy period went by before we finally managed to catch the eye of a downstairs waiter who came and took our order. Coffee was nice but the food disappointing and read better on the menu than it tasted. We ordered eggs florentine the bed of spinach was shredded do finely it was like grass. The vegan breakfast was also disappointing. The beans were stone cold on one side and hadn’t been reheated properly and unfortunately the smashed avocado tasted like it had vinegar through it rather than lemon. We were asked if we enjoyed our meal but sadly it came across as though the waiting staff genuinely weren’t interested. Overall disappointing."

"This nicely set out restaurant with its Spanish traditional food is a gem. We enjoyed the seasonal food and the menu choice was great. We had 6 small plates/tapas between us and can recommend them all, one was so good we had a repeat plate! We finished the meal with traditional Spanish puddings and a selection of cheeses. Some of our family had been here before and had recommended it, and it was great! Nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Convenient for rail and tube connections."

"they have been here many times and was always pleased to come back many times. this time, however, we were once in a fairness for minutes without someone who even asked for a beverage order, we got a free drink but still quite poor. After we had ordered that we waited for our food, and while I appreciate it, it takes time to prepare and serve, it seemed awfully long, especially after the first few minutes to order for the first place. in short time large foods to reasonable cost in a beautiful atmosphere, customer service shocked and sorted needs before they lose customers."

"We got late Groupon deal (and babysitter)for the good ladies birthday. £34 for a sharing platter 2 including bread, cheese, meats and olives. This was followed by a shared potato gratas and 5 choices from the tapas menu. As is standard some of the items have a supplementary charge. We went for the King prawns in garlic and chilli, chicken and chorizo in a tomato sauce, pan serrano(garlic bread topped with manchego cheese and serrano ham), chicken burger sliders and a breaded cheese with a tomato sauce. The dishes came with a tomato sauce and garlic aioili dip. As you expect with Spanish tapas the good was hearty and tasty. We didn't leave a morsel on the table. This isn't a dog at the portion size (which was more than generous) it is just a testament to how good it was. We finished with chocolate fudge cake that we had to force down which was probably my least favourite course. This could have been down to being stuffed like a pig before the first spoonful so I wouldn't read too much into that. To drink we had a jug of sangria to share. Sweet and fruity. Scoffed the lot. Enough said. We will definitely be back again. Outstanding value. Lovely food. Brilliant service. Wonderful transport links (if like us you like a little tipple with your Friday night meal). You you are literally up the stairs and across the road from the bus and train station. Should be noted that the Groupon deal was for £34 which is a bargain in itself. As it had been a long time since I last used my Groupon I got an extra 50 percent off the deal. I will never spend under 20 pounds for that amount of quality grub again in my life. Been smiling all weekend. 1st time. Definitely not the last."

"Don’t come here if your under 18. They will take advantage of your age and think your naive when your really street smart. They will charge you £3 for a glass of water. Do not have the mini burgers, when they say mini they mean MINI. Not worth the money can be swallowed after one bite. The bread was rock hard and tiny even though they charge £3 for it. They tried to trick us into buying even more but we weren’t fooled. As I said above we are really street smart. They charged £6 for service even though they were rude. They could watch you on the toilet from the kitchen. They couldn’t even calculate the bill themselves and left us to do it. Absolutely appalling. I also had a Spanish friend with me who confirmed that the patatas bravas was just some potatoes with burger sauce. Not traditional at all. Other than that- the burgers were kind of nice."

"We visited here last night with family. The restaurant was busy as they had an offer on. Tables were very close together , so much so it was difficult to get into your seat. We ordered 3 tapas each(1 person had 4) Service was quick and food was good. Once finished , we asked to order another round of tapas but were told we couldn’t do that as it wouldn’t be ready by the time they needed the table back. As the table was not due back for another 40 minutes, we found this surprising. The very nice waitress said she would get her boss. The boss came over and said we couldn’t have any more food as the kitchen was dealing with other orders. She said her piece and then just walked away, which we found rude. We were going to order dessert but decided to go. We were also overcharged and that was rectified. Waiting staff nice but we were disappointed in the attitude of the manageress. If you visit this restaurant, make sure you order enough as it seems that, unlike most tapas, you can’t add to your order, even if there is still time left on your table allocation. It’s put us off visiting here again."

"We were disappointed to find that the chicken dish we wanted was sold out, and we felt like we had to leave earlier than we wanted because they closed at 6 PM, which is earlier than usual. That said, the experience is always pleasant. I do find it a bit pricey, so while I would definitely return, it might not be as frequently due to the value for money."

"My wife and I have been here a few times over the years and always had a good experience, but sadly not this time. We decided to have lunch here on Sunday, 15 October. Although the food was good the service was very poor. One member of staff appeared to have a lot that he wanted to say to his colleagues. As they were stood within earshot of our table we couldn't help but overhear everything that was being said, which is not conducive to a pleasant dining experience. We have no interest in hearing about his latest staff appraisal, or anything else that was on his mind. We were offered the menu to choose a dessert, but even though we waited for a considerable amount of time the waiter did not return to take our order. In the end we had to interrupt the chat that was going on behind the bar to request the bill. We removed the 12.5% service charge from our bill as the service was so poor. Disappointing, as we had previously enjoyed coming here on previous visits. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back. Also, the hand dryer in the gents WC wasn't working so I would suggest leaving some paper towels out until you get it working again."

"the restaurant was unusually busy in the night we went and some of the most popular dishes were not available. the staff was nice and helpful, the place was busy, but the building absorbs the pay and the noise good. the food was excellent as always, especially the croquetas, jamon, calamares, black rice (welcome return), wild boar fideua, champiñones al jerez and pulpo were all excellent. lea ve place for the excellent churros with chocolate and Spanish rice pudding. this restaurant never fails."

"eating here is always excellent, and they do not scrimp on their portions, especially the paella, which is very generous! do not let them be tempted to order paella for the exact number in their party, as the portion size will be huge, unless they have no tapas stars. we were a party of 2 adults and 2 children (11 13). we had a selection of tapas stars (approx. 3 pp) followed by a paella mixta for 2 people, and we were filled! that was more than enough, actually enough for us to take away a Doggy bag that later fed 2 adult to dinner. the restaurant is consistently packed, especially on Saturday night, so reservations are advisable to avoid disappointment or long waiting times. my only handle is that the service is very slow. we have eaten there on 2 separate Saturday evenings and it always feels like they are a little short staff. at a point in the evening I saw 5 employees behind or at the bar, and only 2 tend to customer. to give something context, at this time there were only 2 customers at the bar, but a complete restaurant. if they are not in a hurry, then slower service will not be a problem, but the lack of personal neigen too tables always makes the attention of the waiting staff very laborious, and the delivery of things like drinks very slow. my biggest thing with the restaurant is the toilets, especially the lady room. with this opportunity were 2 out of 3 damen cubiken unusable, with paper and other waste substances blocked probably this is due to bad water pressure and flushing, but whatever the reason does not make for a pleasant experience, which leads to a long waiting period for the 1 work room."
