"I must have been for sure very unlucky, but this is the restaurant where I ate probably the worst two dishes in my life. In both cases, the two courses disappeared under a prevailing flavour, erasing all the remaining ingredients. As an appetizer we got the cheviche combination that was basically raw fish fully covered by tons of red hot pepper: you could easily take away all the fish in the dish and the taste would remain exactly the same. As a main course we had a spicy tuna poke where all the wonderful fresh ingredients (tuna, rice, green peas, carrots and more) were hidden behind a blanket of citrus making the whole bowl, citrus apart, totally tasteless: like chewing a huge candy. The gourmet experience was so devastating to obliterate the nice atmosphere of the venue, the service, nice and professional (including nicely receiving appalling feedback from unhappy clients), and everything pleasant around: not even the efforts of the team could justify the chef's disaster tonight. I've been providing feedback on restaurants and hotels from all over the world on this website for years, and I am going for a 1/5 evaluation with no hesitation or regret."

"Love ask Italian and this one lived up to my expectations and as the time we went was a little later then lunch time it was quiet so we had quick service. I had one of the new calzones with salami which was amazing, I would definitely recommend it. Also recommend the chocolate mousse dessert."

"Absolutely wonderful! My sister and I recently visited while camping in the area and we fancied lunch after mooching about the Castle. We arrived and sat in the beautiful outdoor seating area (gorgeous views! with our two dogs, both of whom were warmly welcomed. Alex took our order for drinks and food and he was so sweet and knowledgeable. I'm not exaggerating even a little when I say that Alex arrived back with our drinks 3 4 minutes later and, maybe 2 3 mins after that, so did our food! I've never had such friendly and insanely fast service and the place was pretty busy, too! It wasn't just us our neighbouring table explained that they come here often and it's always that good. To top it off, the food was sooo delicious and I wolfed it down. I'm gutted that I don't live closer, because I'd be here all the time if I did! Can't speak highly enough of this place, it was such a gem to find and ended our camping trip on a perfect high. Shout out to Alex for being such a gem! I hope to return in future :"

"We used to frequent this pub often in the past, but heard that it had changed ownership, so we decided to meet our friends here. We were excited to catch up with friends we hadn't seen in a while. However, when we arrived, my husband inquired about their ale selection and was informed they only had Harveys with no other options. The server who brought our drinks had dirty fingernails, which was off-putting. When it came time to order food, one of our friends asked about a Christmas menu and was told it needed to be pre-ordered, as stated on their website. Despite our frequent visits in the past, we had not checked the website. The food was tasty, but the service was lacking. We had to request drinks and were not asked about our meals once they arrived. At 9:40, a lady approached us with the bill and informed us they were closing soon. When we asked for another drink, we were denied. My husband requested to remove the service charge, which caused some tension with the lady taking payment. She questioned why he wouldn't pay it, stating that everyone charges it, which we found rude. Overall, the poor service has discouraged us from returning or recommending the pub to others, despite the delicious food. It's disappointing, as we had hoped the new management would focus on attracting and retaining customers."

"We've been coming to Falmouth for years and this was the worst meal we have ever had. My Husband har the full rack of ribs. They were only luke warm, the serving plate was cold, and they weren't cooked properly. He left half of them. I had the beef burrito which was supposed to come with all sorts of things. What I got was two wraps, also not hot, full of rice, a few kidney beans, a bit of chilli and a microscopic amount of meat. They forgot our drinks, had to chase them. They had way too much lime in and we got a pitcher with two straws! They never came to ask if everything was OK. When my husband went to pay he complained and they couldn't have cared less. We've eaten here in the past and been very happy, but we'll never come back and I'd advise anybody reading this not to either"

"La Baronia really is the best restaurant in Southampton. The food never disappoints, the portions are substantial and the service is great no matter what day of the week you go on. The enchiladas are the best dish on the menu, do not miss...out!! There are always familiar faces amongst the staff which makes every visit even better. They are always so nice, welcoming and friendly. I am so glad La Baronia has managed to stay open over the various lockdowns and has continue to provide Southampton locals with their Mexican food fix!"

"Unfortunately, the food took what seemed to come forever. Table was booked for 8:15 o'clock...meal came 9:25 o'clock! And no, we didn't have any appetizers...just ordered main meals. I wanted to complain when the waitress said that the food won't be much longer - I told her I'm going to complain as waiting was ridiculous! We were not told when we were sitting there was a wait for food... but maybe our food order was messed up, I don't know. We were offered a round of drinks later, but we did not want them to have drinks, so we are offered desserts that have accepted 3 of us, even if we were full, we ordered them from the principle. We have eaten here many times before the food is always excellent, it was also tonight... it's just as shame that we had to wait so long."

"It was my first time in this beautiful restaurant. My husband has been before. Today we went together to celebrate our 24th Wedding Anniversary. I can honestly say I can't fault it, the staff, customer service, atmosphere, the freshness of the decoration of the restaurant and the food were excellent. The staff were attentive and told us about ordering on our phone. Or if we weren't sure we could order through our waitress. We worked out quite quickly how to order by phone using a QR Code and our table number. We can honestly say, we had delicious, beautiful flavours of our dishes today and definitely will come back again soon to try out other beautiful dishes as there was so many to choose from. "Originally starting as a popup in 2012, The Joint quickly became a permanent fixture in the London dining scene with 2 locations in Brixton and Marylebone. I first tried their sandwiches at the Brixton branch in Brixton Village about 3 years ago and have been a fan ever since. The menu is simple yet satisfying, with a selection of mains and sides to choose from. I opted for the beef brisket bun with smoked aioli and bacon relish, which was absolutely delicious. The brisket was tender and flavorful, complemented perfectly by the savory and sweet relish. The brioche bun was also outstanding, freshly baked and buttery. Don't forget to order a side of wings, whether BBQ or hot, they are a must-try. The Joint continues to impress with their incredible flavors and quality ingredients. "Stayed at the ship on a couple of occasions and eaten here often , we came for Sunday lunch last Sunday and as usual it was excellent. Only negative thing that I could say was that the service was slow . This is in no way a reflection of the staff , they work so hard and are so friendly they are a credit to the place. It seems to me that they are very understaffed and the owners should invest in extra staff instead of putting the current team under so much pressure."

"We had a lovely lunch with friends today. I had requested on the booking form for a nice quiet corner and when we arrived we were shown to a lovely table set in an alcove. Our waitress looked really festive with a Christmas Headband . Her name was Emma and she was so professional with her waiting service to us nothing was too much trouble even down to finding me some apple sauce for my mains of Pork. Although we didn’t opt out for the festive menu 2 of us asked if we could have Christmas Pudding . Emma checked with kitchen and they were happy to serve it to us. "Absolute disappointment and made to feel like we needed to leave as staff wanted to close up. We visited 10.02.23. Table was booked for 8pm. There was 4 off us some had starters then we had our main that we was enjoying at 8.30pm the kitchen started cleaning up and turning lights off, we finished our meal and asked at 8.45pm when the waiter was clearing our table for the menu for desserts and milkshakes. For him to tell us the kitchen and bar was closed so we was unable to complete our meal. We was swiftly given our bill we paid and left. Never felt so uncomfortable in an eatery before and to be told we couldn’t complete our meal was a disappointment. Website states open till 11pm website states 10pm. So why was basically kicked out at 8.45pm? I wouldn’t advise going if you want three courses and they close before you get to finish your meal."

"Ordered x2 toasted Ciabatta sandwiches x1 Aubergine Crispy Artichoke x1 Prosciutto Ham Cheese . The Ciabatta was stale, the Aubergine came without any artichoke, and neither came with their accompanying side salad garnish. They also have the cheek to add a 10% service charge automatically . After complaining, we were given a partial discount but, they gave a full refund onto my debit card and then took the new, reduced payment again. The refund is not immediate, so I've now paid for sub-standard food twice until I get my refund in 3-5 working days ..... be wary!"

"Visited Sunday 21/04/2024 at midday. Had garlic bread starter which I shared with my wife and we both agreed it was one of the nicest we’ve had. Tried the meatball piccante and my wife had the gnocchi for our mains. All good. Though initially my pasta seemed cold but it hadn’t been well mixed with the meatball sauce which was hot. Overall though we both enjoyed the mains. For dessert my wife had the caramel sundae which was really good. I tried the pistachio and raspberry tart, which was ok but dry without any cream or ice cream. So that was a little disappointing but overall, not a bad meal. Staff were excellent, prompt and polite service, attentive enough without being over bearing. Overall we felt it was a decent lunch and would definitely go back."

"As indicated by the name: the house of the Pho. So stick to it. It is coming with all its vegetables and exotic herbs typical of the Vietnamese Pho. I've tried also as a starter the famous Bánh xèo and it was really good. For the rest, the beef meat is not the best and not so tender, and it is a kind of pity because the recipes are well executed with a lots of fragrance and taste. The staff is really friendly, helpfull and provides good advice."

"On a pleasant, sunny evening we decided to visit the Regent Cafe. On entering the cafe, the staff were fairly uninviting, although not unpleasant. The food was fairly expensive, and the bottle of wine very expensive. We sat outside to enjoy the sun and when the food arrived, it was pretty good. The cafe has been updated recently, after a change in ownership, but it looked pretty austere and cold, particularly from the outside."
