"So happy I found this place when working in the area. Beautiful atmosphere, and really friendly, helpful staff recommended to beef grills from the smokehouse section of the menu. Not usually the kind of things I put in zone, but what a great choice! Simply delicious and delicate, with great accompaniments. I'm hoping for more work in the area so I can come back. Oh! And almost forget to mention, probably the best key lime cake I cost depending on dessert. Come in."

"I thought that I knew most of the pubs in my area of this part of Suffolk having lived here for over fourteen years but stumbled across this one in the middle of nowhere. It was lunchtime and there was only one car parked outside which I thought didn't augur well. But on opening the door we could see many people occupying the place and their was a nice vibe. We were lucky enough to find a table right by the very warm and inviting log fire. Our food order was taken quickly and it soon arrived on our table look scrumptious. A very large obviously home-made pastry pie with the pastry complete surrounding a dark, melting, pull apart lamb feast which was delicate and delicious with an unctuous dark gravy sitting on a bed of light mash. We both thought that there was no way that we would do these plates justice but slowly we demolished the walls and the crusty pastry top and eventually cleared our plates. A good pint or two of beer too to wash it all down. We shall return and bring others to this lovely pub."

"We booked a table ahead as we had never been here. Never realise we needed to order on line . Waited then asked a runner. Tried 4 times to order food each time got an error code at the end of inputting the order.. Finally got the food order in then needed to order the drinks. Same thing . It was my husband's birthday meal it ended up frustrating the hell out of all of us. If you insist on using an on line platform I wish we were informed before we entered. Also it should be user friendly and work. We won't be back EVER! Much nicer options with personal service in Chesterfield . We came out to celebrate a birthday ended up frustrated and angry . That said the food was good but then why have a restaurant if you operate it like a take away. Great take away food not worth a eat in certainly not for a Birthday celebration which this was."

"First time at this place. Booked a window seat when booking but was put in the middle of the restaurant. I did say that I had booked a window seat ( I was with a disabled friend and didn’t want to be surrounded by people) the waitress did move us but said this was there last window seat don’t know why it asked on the booking where you wished to be seated if they couldn’t accommodate or made me feel as if it was a problem. Food was good but cutlery wasn’t brought to the table so when we got our salad I had to go looking for a waitress/ waiter. Couldn’t find one but the young man serving the salad very kindly went and got me some and apologised . I booked for 1pm so it wasn’t crowded so I was slightly disappointed."

"I came here for my 40th Birthday with mum and sister. It was absolutely lovely. The staff were accommodating and friendly. The menu was great, as was the food. "Normally the best baby back ribs I can find (outside of The United States and South Africa). Today's were good. Service always polite, with a smile and from a gang that obviously enjoy what they do. Superb whisky selection. They even have a comfortable smoking area for idiots like me (a rare thing to find nowadays). "It was truly terrible. We arrived at the Resraurant on time and was immediately shown our immaculate table. We were greeted professionally and courteously and offered a drink. We were offered the menu and waited no time at all for our starter followed by the main course. The food was all superb and the table was well managed for clearing of used items such as plates and glasses. Our server was polite, knowledgeable and friendly As I said at the start, it was truly terrible. It could have been so much worse if I had to prepare, cook, serve, clear and clean if I had done this all at home Not my first visit, and now planning my next. Please don’t tell too many people because I might not get a table A pleasure to have had a traditional Sunday Roast just like you hoped in your mind it would be."

"Great food. About 15mins until ready. Got smokehouse burger and Cajun chicken wrap. Also available but couldn't get photo without looking creepy. Hatch veggie wrap,beef brisket wrap, chicken satay loaded fries, chicken and bacon fries (think had chilli sauce, spicy spicy but good). Also sides, Sausage, smashed avocado, smoked bacon, poached eggs, black pudding, crispy onions and caramelised onions. Few more things but not too sure what. Breakfast menu in photo. "My review on my first visit to the duck westbourne. 1. Food is 4* can improve. We had the tempura prawns which were cooked perfectly,5*. I had the BBQ big boy,3*. What let my dish down, the dry chicken and not so soft corn on...cob. The ribs however were the best I've ever had, juicy, tender goodness that even my partner had to steal from my plate. Price range med-high. Wait time for food shortly after our drinks arrived 2. Cocktails is 3*, please please can you adjust your flavour profiles for your cocktails. Some are good and some are just . For instance the mojito, the mint in there is not just for aesthetics. Should be able to taste. Please bare in mind I know everyone has different preferences but a mojito is a standard cocktail. Wait time for drinks from ordering 15-20 mins. Prices arevage. 3. Service is 2*, now here is were it needs the most improvement. Firstly door person greeted us with a smile and we were greeted again by a waitress with a pleasant manner. Our reserved table was taken up by 2 drinkers who were asked politely to move to the bar. Table was not cleaned down prior to us sitting. We waited for a short time before having our order taken, great so far so good. Drinks then food. After receiving our dishes, not once did anyone come over to ask how they were and if everything is ok. Only when we were finished, someone came over to clear the table and asked if we wanted more drinks. Again no concern on the food. The bill, here is were I have been so disappointed with the service. Waited over 20 mins while staff did other things including chatting to each other before I decided to get up and leave, yes only then did the waitress say have you paid? Well no, I've been waiting for over 20 mins. Oh you should of put your hand up to get my attention.... seriously put my hand up! Wow . Like I'm back in school. If you are going to serve high end food at top tier prices, then the service must be the same. I've had better service at other places where the food was terrible. This place is great. Greatish food with music and you can even have a dance if you wanted. Yes it is a bar/ food vendor but if they wish to keep their high end kitchen staff, the service needs improving. Atmosphere was slightly loud with excellent music playing, great choice of food and drink. Would love to come back and not drive to have an all out night in this venue. Overall score on this occasion 3.5* I look forward to my next visit"

"My husband and I had lunch at Haywain on Friday. We were warmly welcomed. Since our last visit there have been some new items in the menu. The Sharing plates were mainly the deep fried pickles delicious. The Adnams beer bestows fish and chips were excellent. My husband had a main dish of chicken salad bowl he loved. We were sad too full for Dessert. We have often eaten at Haywain and never disappointed."

"I love this place. Warm and friendly service ambience Good food with an additional vegan menu. Rustic style interior with old paintings covering the walls and lampshades on lights that make for calm lighting. There is a mix of music at a reasonable volume. Glass windows fill half the interior, so lots of lovely natural light. There is plenty of outside seating, although we've not used this yet. A variety of styles of seating inside with wooden tables. You don't need to make a reservation that hasn't yet caused a problem. They do fab coffee, cocktails mocktails and a free to use water dispenser with stacked glasses It's in a accessible location right by the library, shopping centre car park, with wheelchair access (front door dining is at ground level)"

"Located in the heart of the city near the Royal Exchange is Silk and Grain. Split over two tiers with a ground floor bar and a first floor restaurant you can drink, dine or both! Silk and Grain specialises in top quality 35 day aged Scottish steak which is supplied by East Lothian independent family run business, J. Gilmour Co Ltd. Mix the steak with an innovative cocktail menu and you have a winning combination. We loved the Panky Club Cocktail: Barrel-aged gin-based Hanky-Panky with raspberry, lemon, egg white. The staple of Silk and Grain are its cuts of Tweed Valley Steaks. However, there are a selection of other dishes on the menu ranging from Duck Confit and Rack of Lamb to Sea Trout and Smoked Haddock. We started with the Potato Gnocchi: Parmesan, girolles, truffle oil. This was one of the best gnocchi dishes I have tasted! The parmesan and truffle oil worked well and it was not as heavy as I envisaged. There are a number of steaks to choose from on the menu including Rump, Sirloin, Cote De Boeuf, Rib Eye and Fillet, as well as sharing steaks. All prices include the choice of any side (including sweet potato fries and truffle mac and cheese) and any sauce (including bearnaise and peppercorn). This makes a refreshing change from other competitor steak restaurants where you pay for the sides and sauces separately. The Fillet Steak was a fantastic cut of meat, cooked medium, with sweet potato fries – as you would expect, not fatty and all and naturally flavoursome. The Silk Grain Burger: Brioche, pulled brisket, lettuce, Swiss cheese, smoked chilli mayo, fries was also impressive. We were asked how we wanted the burger cooked which is always a good sign – it was exceptionally meaty and we added bacon for extra flavour. A fantastic steak and cocktail menu at Silk Grain restaurant in the City with reasonable prices and a good level of service. Tip: Go for the Express Menu at lunchtime. Soup and sourdough plus 200g Sirloin Steak fries and peppercorn sauce for just £25 per person."

"After visiting The Seven Stars for the first-time last month for a Sunday roast I can highly recommend! I enquired to book a Birthday Sunday roast for a large group at relatively short notice and Namit (the restaurant manager) instantly put my mind at ease. He was super prompt to respond to any questions and really made my husband’s Birthday dinner a success! As a party of 25 (adults and kids) our food was all brought out quickly and together. The food was absolutely delicious and many of us agreed it was one of the best roasts we had had in a long time! We had a fantastic experience thanks to a beautiful pub, delicious food and brilliant staff. Thank you SO much Namit, we can’t wait to come again!"
