"I took my mother to the Two Sisters restaurant for her birthday last Sunday. We were immediately greeted and informed about the brunch options (i.e. buffet versus brunch specials and other adjustments, such as turkey bacon instead of pork). I think this is a great place for a relaxed brunch and definitely for a mother-daughter date. We loved the food and the service. We drove to a Groupon and will definitely drive again without the Groupon. Worth it."

"The Boat Inn is a lovely venue even on a cold wet December evening in the week before christmas and looked promising when we arrived at 7:30 pm the time I had chosen when making a booking through this web site the evening before. I was surprised that I needed to register my car but this process and the fact you need to do it was clear and straight forward. We were greated in a warm and friendly way and were expected, the place was busy but not packed, we had quite a small table where staff or other quests had to squeze past making it a bit uncomfortable especially when a biger table not in the throughfare remined empty through out our stay. It soon became apparent however that all was not well when other guests were asking where their meals or drinks were. We also had to remind the 2 serving staff that we had not received our drinks 20 minutes after placing the order. Our food did take quite a while to come, especialy the main course but apart from luke warm onion rings it was most enjoyable. This seems such a shame for such a great venue as when you look at comments on this web site from 12 months ago the problems appear to be the same even down to the cold onion rings ! I would go back to the Boat Inn especially in the summer but I would hope not to experiance the same problems again."

"My partner and I decided to try out brunch at the Amersham branch after dining at the Ealing and High Wycombe locations. We were familiar with the process, but were surprised to find that many menu options were unavailable. Even after making our selections, my dish turned out to be unavailable. We also found that when ordering coffee or a shake, only full fat milk was available, with semi-skimmed or oat milk greyed out. I ended up ordering a simple brunch of oak smoked bacon and poached eggs on a muffin, while my partner ordered her usual Mexican superbowl. The food took over 30 minutes to arrive, and when it did, my eggs were overcooked, the bacon was fatty, and the muffin was mediocre. The superbowl had red onions added, which was not listed on the menu and not something we had experienced at other locations. Despite the high price of over £30, the meal was a disappointment and would have been underwhelming even at half the price."

"this place used to have the best milkshakes in the city, but we were really let down on our last visit. steak cattle and roll have so far decided to ignore my complaining, rather than dealing with it. the shooks are expensive to start with, but usually worth it. this time I got a basic chocolate and banana shake with chocolate sauce, some melt cream and some fold. it looked terrible, and then because it was a “special” it costs £10! my man went for the sunglass and it came that the beats were missing, but still became full price for it. the whole milkshake/sundae thing is annoying, but ignoring complaining is what really made me angry here. if they can't be harassed to respond to customers, then I won't spend my money there again."

"I go to The Plough fairly regularly for food and drinks but always leave feeling a little underwhelmed and overcharged. The ambience and atmosphere is always great; both inside and outside you’ll get a great buzz and a pleasant place to sit. The menu is on paper excellent. I’ve eaten there for brunch and dinner and there is something for everyone. Most recently I had a full English there. It cost £16 and the plate was mostly filled with pretty sorry looking undercooked mushrooms and tomatoes. The one sausage was very nice but the streaky bacon was a bit chewy. For £16 it was underwhelming, which is a theme that translates to the dinner menu as well. You rarely feel like the food matches the price tag. This overpricing extends to drinks as well, which are far more expensive than in similar local gastropubs. I lot of people like The Plough and I can see why but if you’re into food there are better local options that won’t hurt your wallet as much."

"Since organising a brunch party for over 10 people in London at the last minute is a bit of a nightmare, this place was great in that we managed to book a large table in their basement, and they didn't make a fuss when we sneakily added two or three more people to the table. My order of poached eggs on avocado was tasty, but a little small portion-wise and could have done with a side salad or something. The banana pancakes were out of this world and I ate them up in two seconds. It was a shame they didn't offer Mimosas by the jug as we were all in a festive mood, and service was a little slow and confused (the table next door was seated after us but got their food first), and we would have preferred being seated upstairs where there was more of an atmosphere and natural light. but all in all, it did its bit in helping us all get together for a quality brunch."

"sadly not as good as previously unable to order drinks which had apparently not been delivered. felt the starter was put together in a hurry and the prosciutto was very fatty. main was great but one small pot of parmesan for 3 people, team provided a small glass of water for each of us, so we had to ask for more, when a jug would have been better. staff however were lovely, cheery and we will go again."

"Unfortunately we picked the wrong day to go to the Lamb inn.Although our table was booked it was not ready for us.We went there for a Sunday roast we could not believe there was no beef or lamb available at 1.30 pm.Plus in the short time we were there we heard a lot of complaints from customer waiting for their meals. We left without ordering .Very disappointed."

"Stopped in for what we thought would be a quick and light lunch but ended up eating and drinking far more than we anticipated. As we watched amazing platters full of colorful sushi pass by our table we decided to order a bottle of saki and dive in. We devoured a platter that started with a hot selection with skewers of lamb chops (so tender and juicy) cubes of cheese wrapped in bacon (omg could have eaten a plate of these) and a chicken dish (not so memorable but had hard competition). A bowl of edamame was included but maybe I'm just used to getting these in US restaurants as I was surprised they were served cold as this made it too difficult to eat I thought. As we had so much food I was not too disappointed Our sushi platter was almost to pretty to eat, but we did. Certainly plenty of food with the platter options and quite a few selections on offer that makes me want to return"

"Came here for the first time in 3 years (due to the pandemic . We came for my partner's birthday and had dinner. We were served by a young man who was extremely friendly and polite, with prompt service. The lychee daiquiri was a dream, a bit strong, just the way I like it! We had the 5 small plates for around 30 pounds to start off with, (fried mushrooms, duck gyoza, karaage chicken x 2 chicken skewers we absolutely loved the chicken skewers, the mushrooms and the karaage chicken! They were just the right size and were extremely moreish! We each had a main as well, (butternut squash plus other things I forget superbowl with added chicken breast, chicken katsu burger, beef brisket burger with cheese and beef brisket without cheese burger. The katsu burger was okay, a good amount of chicken and the breadcrumb coating was lovely; the sauce was okay, I feel that perhaps it didn't quite work as a burger, but was nice nonetheless. The other two burgers were very nice and the balance of meat and other fillings wes just right. (The burgers are big by the way! (I forgot to take pictures of the foods ordered the superbowl was lovely as well, was not really to my personal taste, however my partner loved it. The atmosphere and decor are smart and calming with an air of sophistication. I liked the plant decor and the teal and gold colours. We came here originally 3 years ago for lunch and then a few months later they refurbished the place and this is what we have now. Very nice. Always recommend All Bar One's food, as it's a hidden gem I believe! (Photos show our drinks (white wine, tap water, 2 lychee daiquiris and orange lemonade mixed , also shown are images of special cocktail covers and serving equipment (by Hendricks Gin on the side, they looked so cool so I took some pictures."

"Me and my friends have been coming to Desco lounge for a while now but I can truthfully say this will be the last time that we visit. We ordered 2 lounge breakfast, whilst the drinks arrived promptly we had to wait a fair while for our food. When it arrived the bacon was burnt and the beans were cold. I went to the bar to speak to one of the servers as none had bothered to come and check back our food and were clearly far too busy on a Monday afternoon to accommodate us. The portion size difference was crazy aswell considering we had the same meal! We wanted to order some extra beans and toast so we asked one of the ‘waitresses’ if we could order with her, she answered very abruptly we don’t do table service. And were told we have to go to the bar or order online. It was as if we were being a pain asking her these questions. As we were waiting for our fresh beans our food was getting cold so once it had been 10 minutes since we had ordered the beans I asked the same server how long they would be she replied ‘you haven’t been waiting 10 minutes’ so I showed her the proof on my order. She walked away as I was still speaking with her and a few minutes later returned with my food. I wouldn’t even understand this behaviour if she was new as she was so rude to us, as if she forgot we were the guests. The worst thing is when you order online it asks if you would like to tip! The cheek of it!"

"This traditional pub, wow, great food, great service, good prices, always full and busy!! Had a really good experience at The Dennington Queen (again), and had some amazing food, but the service, everyone we dealt with couldn’t be more helpful, we had just about the right amount of attention without it being intrusive which made for a great evening. Choices were excellent, even for vegan food and they were happy for us to mix and match choices around. Cauliflower starter is insanely good, as was the sweet chilli chicken and sticky toffee pudding! Coming back again before we go home."

"I was interested to try out Jackson Rye as I love American food. However I left feeling slightly empty. My market soup with pumpkin amd truffle was served innovatively in a little jug and separate bowl. However it was overly rich with truffle and overly seasoned too. A solid portion size however the main course chef 's salad with chicken was not good value- a pathetic piece of fried chicken (not as described on the menu) with some burnt 'crispy kale ' and soggy gem lettuce was not great for 12 pounds. Having said this about the food, the decor, music and service was top notch."

"had a fabulous family dinner today, eating and service was fab, the kitchen was obviously busy and we waited one for our food, but we were not in a hurry. I loved the fact that they brought the children to eat first and early (without asking) to avoid any melting. Thank you, we will definitely come back."

"My wife and I have been visiting smoke since it had opened and up until COVID, had always had a fantastic meal. Yesterday was our first trip in 18 months due to COVID and we were really looking forward to it. Wow how things have...changed. Firstly the service was poor. Before we had even ordered our drinks, we were approached twice by two different servers with drinks that were not ours. Then, when trying to order our food, our server turned to have a short conversation with another member of staff probably could have waited 30 seconds before doing that. Then our food arrived in less than 10 minutes. The usual thrice cooked chips had been replaced by what may well have been McCain's oven chips, no flavour to them what so ever. My wife's pulled pork was warm at best and the half rack of ribs I had barely had any meat on whatsoever. The sausage, however, was as good as I remember. Just after I had put the last fork full of food in my mouth, the server reappeared and whisked our plates away. We were in and out in half an hour and the whole thing just felt rushed not something you want whilst out for the evening. It's a shame, SMOKE used to be one of our favourites. But now it's nothing more than mediocre."

"Thank you to Frankie Benny's Fort Kinnaird for a beautiful meal today for Mother's Day. We were given Prosecco on arrival and a very hot and tasty 3 course meal. The service from Leanne and Connor were spot on and very attentive. Definitely would recommend and look forward to visiting again."

"Haven’t been for a while, had poor experience a good few years back (tiny portions extremely expensive) so I have only been since in the garden for drinks in the warmer months but went out with friends they suggested here. Staff were very polite, excellent service, I had the mussels, fries sourdough, was very very nice, drinks were good. My only criticism was when we booked the table it gave 1.5 hrs, now a catch up with friends, 2 or 3 courses is likely to be more than 1.5 hrs. I would have understood if it was fully booked but there were lots of free tables so not sure why it doesn’t allow longer, we stayed approx 2.5 hrs. Will return though now the food has vastly improved."

"Let me start by saying the Grey Horse is a great pub in Kingston, we have been going for years. My Wife and I popped in to get some of the excellent food they serve and sat in the SMOK'D restaurant at the back. Being slightly addicted to Buffalo Wings we ordered 9 wings each and little piggy fries. The fries with little pork belly bits were as always amazing. The service was great and the produce was clearly very good. But alas when the wings arrived they were 9 whole wings!. Just to clarify in true USA BBQ style I was expecting jointed wings i.e wings and drumettes jointed into individual pieces. I not complaining about volume as I received what I considered 18 wings (i.e 9 wings and 9 drumettes). But the unjointed wings do make good eating. Being whole they overlap so you don't get that lovely crispy gnarly outer and you are left instead with your bog standard British Chicken wing with a slightly flabby outer skin that you cant pick up!! Such a shame as the wings used to be excellent and really the only wings this side of the Atlantic that I enjoyed. I would always recommend them to other Buffalo wing addicts but now I really couldn't. The 3 stars reflected that everything else about the Grey horse and SMOK'D was great, and I hope that the wings are restored to their former glory."
