"I go to The Plough fairly regularly for food and drinks but always leave feeling a little underwhelmed and overcharged. The ambience and atmosphere is always great; both inside and outside you’ll get a great buzz and a pleasant place to sit. The menu is on paper excellent. I’ve eaten there for brunch and dinner and there is something for everyone. Most recently I had a full English there. It cost £16 and the plate was mostly filled with pretty sorry looking undercooked mushrooms and tomatoes. The one sausage was very nice but the streaky bacon was a bit chewy. For £16 it was underwhelming, which is a theme that translates to the dinner menu as well. You rarely feel like the food matches the price tag. This overpricing extends to drinks as well, which are far more expensive than in similar local gastropubs. I lot of people like The Plough and I can see why but if you’re into food there are better local options that won’t hurt your wallet as much."

Went here for a birthday lunch. Busy, but excellent service. Food was delicious. Burgers, chicken salad, chilli, plus fish and chips were all very good. Plan to rerun in the future

Best Sunday Lunch ever! I’ve never had a bad meal at The Plough but last Sunday’s roast was exceptional. The beef was so tender it melted in the mouth, veggies and roasties cooked to perfection. The cauliflower cheese was the nicest I’ve experienced, with a delicious crumb topping. Not cheap but you won’t be disappointed View menu

Nice pub with a large selection of beers and a good choice of food. But it is expensive. The pizzas were good but not amazing and you pay more than usual for them. Good ordering system from the table which works well for a group as each person can order and pay for their own The food came very quickly and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Booked a large group for mothers 80th birthday. We had a section to ourselves which was perfect with a young toddler. The staff were so attentive and the girl looking after us was really friendly. The food was great quality and they brought the birthday cake out for us and provided plates which a lot of places can be funny about. Can’t fault the service or food, my mum was very happy.

A year ago I would have given this place 5* despite how expensive drinks are there (and food isn't particularly cheap either! . But the menu was great and design/vibe as well. But now all my favorite dishes disappeared from the menu! First cuban sandwich became only veggie, and now its gone at all. The burger menu shrunk, and pulled pork benedict is also gone from the brunch menu. Pizza's are still good, but I would rather have it at Rudy's (which opens soon next door for a fraction of price (and definitely better! . View menu

The dining area wasn’t cut off from the bar area therefore you had to shout when engaged in any conversation. The food was a tad overpriced, even a starter was around the £9 mark, they got a drinks order wrong the desert order wrong, we had to re-order, on top of that there were plenty of different lagers on tap but absolutely no bitters from what I could see. Finally, the toilets were small dirty. On the plus side, the food was excellent. Just one other thing, I asked for salt pepper to be brought to the table however the pepper grinder was obviously broken unusable.

Staff here are brilliant so friendly and helpful . Now then let’s get to the food !! Food was terrible three of us ordered the cod and chips which were 18 pounds each it was diabolical literally no fish in the massive batter that arrived . For 18 pounds you’d expect a decent amount of fish . My other brother had the burger which was 17.50 and the most basic burger there is in fact mc Donald’s is better . Have been going to this place for 24 years and this is the worst food we’ve had . I know about all the cut backs but at these prices for a place like Harborne where houses and flats are being built every five minutes is extortionate . . The staff where brilliant when I complained about my fo...
